They should make more Eviolite-type items that raise other stats or otherwise buff NFEs. Make an Eviolium that raises Atk/SpAtk/Spd by 50% each, make a Eviolactor that gives more HP per turn than Leftovers, say twice as much. They're fun to use in-game and in competitive they'll rarely if ever end up being optimal, but will still allow certain mons niche uses, like how in gen 5 chansey was sometimes better than blissey, or dusclops outclassed dusknoir defensively.
>>58488790Idk man. The Leftovers thing might be neat, but offensive Eviolite just fucks a lot of lines up. Makes Scyther totally cracked, but it’s not like it invalidates Scizor. That’s fine. Magmar and Electabuzz outclass their evolutions forever, but they already kinda do in VGC anyways.Where I get iffy is, there’s basically no point in Weavile ever again, and I’m a huge Sneasel fan. Still doesn’t seem fair. I think this also means Klingklang, Mr. Rime, Mamoswine, and absolutely Silvally are worthless forever. In exchange, Magneton, Gligar, Rhydon and Doublade get to party without taking their evo’s niche. Idk it probably breaks a ton of other lines, I’d bet it would do more damage than it’s worth. Not that they’d ever do it in a million years.
>>58489079I think that the utility of having an item slot on the fully evolved mon would end up being more worthwhile a lot of the time. One of the reasons why blissey is still considered better than chansey despite eviolite making chansey way bulkier. Honestly I think it would be worth it.
>>58488790Offensive eviolite wouldn't do anything in VGC for sure, maybe in some smogon tiers though. I think gamefreak should do it since not-fully-evolved pokemon are pretty represented in people's favorites. It's a neat way to make more pokemon usable in the campaign (what most fans are exposed to)
>>58489092I guess that’s a fair point I didn’t consider. Sneasel would hit way harder and way faster than Weavile, but the latter could still hold a sash. Maybe they’d both have their place. I feel like there’s a super busted use for it that I’m not qualified to spot though. Scyther especially stands out to me as possibly a massive menace with this. Would be cool to see Rhydon kick some ass though.
>>58489135honestly surprised they don't cater to NFEs more anyway considering the mascot of the franchise is a middle stage.>>58489315Reminds me of how in gen 4 OU magneton and magnezone were both usable because Magntzone dropped its base speed by 10 which allowed scarf magneton to hit just a couple specific meta mons, meaning they were viable in specific instances. I think 4drag2mag was also sometimes used in gen 5. Yeah I found this here https://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/4drag2mag-the-phenomenon-revealed.77492/ so I think it's totally reasonable imo. I definitely wouldn't mind seeing NFEs in high tiers occasionally too. Also specifically scyther, scyther is like the king of potential but never really truly getting there imo, its type is just so hard to justify a lot of the time. I think it was used recently in VGC even. I would love it if Scyther got buffed to being valuable. It wouldn't even be able to run HDB if it had this new evio-whatever anyway, so it would still die to rocks readily.

I think this also means Klingklang, Mr. Rime, Mamoswine, and absolutely Silvally are worthless forever.Heavy Duty Boots is basically the only reason Weavile is anywhere near usable in singles now. Most mons will absolutely not outclass their evos.
>>58488790Isn't that just what light orb does for pikachu?
>>58490265Light Orb Doubles the attack and special attack.
>>58488790"Monkey's paw curls a finger"Pokemon who got evolutions in later Generations are no longer compatible with Eviolite and similar items.
