just wondering if anyone watches this guy? dont tell anyone but i actually knew him in highschool and just found his channel a few weeks ago. (he moved to japan after college and basically disappeared, still lives there teaching english and doing radio gigs when they come up.)i dont really watch streams (or game videos at all for that matter) so i just thought id ask here to see if hes like "known" already to pkmn fans. ive only watched a bit of his streams but its pretty high effort, he reads all the dialogue in voices like a play and has a ton of meme cut-ins like family guy style. (now that i think about it, maybe thats when he drinks water and/or pees.)hes streaming the new game atm -- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gGngCH5hkeg -- started 2 hours ago so hes probably gonna go another 10 hrs. he added a "sanity meter" to the screen for himself which i assume is like a persona reference or something?? he does this twice a week most weeks it seems which is just insane...that is so much talking. performing really! like being on the radio for 12 hours straight. he did always go hard at things, he was class president of our highschool junior and senior year believe it or not! first time anyone ever did that at our school which was a hundred years old. usually the class president was just the most popular senior guy but he ran a meme campaign as a junior putting his own face on tshirts and handing them out and he ended up winning by getting a lot of 9th and 10th grader votes in addition to our grade. built his own mini obama youth turnout machine sort of. ironically he kind of has obama hair right now but he just got a buzzcut, usually he has almost iike elvis hair kek. i can also vouch that hes actually a good guy, we were friends for about 7-8 years and he never did a single mean thing that i knew of. if you want to freak him out, you could spam "gimme frog coins, gimme potroast" in his channel chat. inside joke as you might guess. no idea what its even from.

>>58496244he doesnt post on 4chan because as i said hes a good guy and actually wholesome. i do cuase im a bad guy. well idk about bad, but worse. i was fairly mean to him a few times in fact and he just kind of shrugged about it. we're both americans & im all european afaik if you must know. im actually one of the few white people left in the world. almost all of my european brothers have devolved into rotbrained nothings and/or chavs, which is less bad but not what they used to be. sad whats happened but oh well. thats what happens when you stop caring about your traditions! i can read english as far back as chaucer. what, compared to that, are you worth?
*cause loli can also type cogently at 100 wpm tho my accuracy is only 98%
>>58496233He tries way too hard to be funny. All the cut in memes and sound effects made me lose interest. He seems to be somewhat knowledgeable at least
>>58496269i should lurk to understand an in-joke from highschool 15 years ago? what? do you think before you post? i feel like its something from mario so how would lurking a pokemon board help me anyway?i havent been on this board in a looooong time regardless. aside from arguing and giving advice on r9k i run a poetical thread on lit once every 13 months.>you are going to say something about not putting slashes around the boards
>>58496233He showed up on my timeline a few times over the past weekWatched him play ZA and he mentioned implementing the sanity meterLooked like he was having fun "sciencing the jank"
>>58496233yeah I watched him stream a few times. sometimes he seems to repeat the same lines over and over trying to get it right or something though I noticed. like once I was watching him and he was doing it quite a lot. so not sure what's up with that. I guess he edits the vods and only keeps the perfect lines but it kinda seemed like ocd a few times because he would start over his sentence like 5 times and he hadn't even really messed up or anything.
>>58496409not everyones thing is le deadpan chill out bro. im not telling you to chill out to be clear just describing a certain style of presentation. i can confirm he knows things, we were in the ap classes together & he went to one of the top liberal arts colleges in the us. (i dont think he had a very good time there tho, considering he hopped off to japan as soon as he could and disappeared from us/english social media stuff til starting this channel a few years back. he had kind of a traditional/conservative upbringing & while he doesnt say anything or judge people i think hes probably not that comfortable around...you know...liberal arts college types of current years. not even talking about flag wars & letter people, i think he wanted to perform in classical & traditional plays & stuff mostly, & that just isnt really what they do there anymore.)his schedule in highschool was coming home at 4pm, doing homework fast as possible, sleeping til midnight, then waking up & playing final fantasy/fire emblem/pokemon/wow until 8am when school started. he went hard on those games, like doing the stat maxing stuff in fire emblem where you figure out the random numbers its going to use on your next levelup and then resetting if theyre bad. ive read about a lot of that stuff but i find it too exhausting to actually do myself. i really dont like streams and game videos as a concept in general, i think it robs people of the desire to play games themselves because they feel bad at games and lonely compared to watching someone else play. its also just a huge time suck for kids and teens because theres infinite amounts of it...when i was a kid im sure i was just terrible at games but i didnt know mostly and it was fine, you play and you get better. but if you just watch videos instead, you never get better, and you feel just awful when you actually try, the worse the older you are because you know it more. (1/2)
>>58496409however as theres tons of it already, i dont super hold it against him because as i said hes genuinely wholesome and probably a good person to be doing what is essentially childrens entertainment. he really likes explaining things and the games he demonstrates are mostly knowledge based like fire emblem and pokemon rather than reflex based (though he is really pretty good at wow and dota as well -- he was like a high 4k dota2 player and he didnt even play that much.) so those are games that someone could try playing and they could follow along with the things he does exactly, like they could listen to explanations or watch what he does and do that in pokemon and fire emblem...in comparison you cant do that with shooters or mobas, you have to develop good reflexes and clicking skills etc to feel like anything but crap at those, so kids watching cant just copy what he does and play the games themselves like they can with pokemon.this kind of thing is a real concern for me -- my younger sister wouldnt even play pokemon without asking me what to do every single turn she was in a battle, like which moves were supereffective against the opponent and stuff. it really bugged me not because i minded telling her but because it was so different from what i did, which was just learning by trying and often failing, but eventually learning, whereas when you just keep asking someone you dont actually learn from experience the same way. so i think its really important to get kids the confidence to actually play games themselves. maybe that means i should make videos where i explain things but then make a lot of stupid accidentally-on-purpose mistakes to make kids feel ok about getting things wrong sometimes. like him, but the joke is that i faceplant constantly. i think it oculd work lel. however i have nowhere near the energy to do 12 hour streams twice a week lmao. i would dissolve. >>58496468huh thats p funny to knowhe has gained 1k subscribers in a few weeks while ive been checking on his channel so maybe hes taking off. that would be pretty crazy. 1 person from our highschool was already a little known for being a calvin klein model (was in his underwear on billboards in times square lol) but that guy got kind of fat so maybe its his turn.
>>58496630>[Posts automatically split by iPhone]
>>58496630>but because it was so different from what i didmaybe you just didn't have anyone you could just ask? it's probably different because she looks up to you and knows you know about it whereas when you were younger playing gen 1 for the first time or whatever, no one even really knew everything about it.
>>58496233Dude is literally chudjak
>>58496619I do know in this exact stream he said he doesn't like right wingers because he is a minority, but doesn't like a lot of stuff progessives do. Playing the game he thought ZA was right wing propagenda
>>58496479hahahhah no thtats just a thing he does lmao. absolutely hilarious that he still does that on stream. he wanted to be a classical theater actor or radio announcer so when he thought a line was funny or cool he would just say it over and over again with different intonations. one of them was a line i think from final fantasy or something that was like, "Touch me not -- I am chaste!" in an uber serious voice. and he would just say that randomly whenever there was a gap in conversation and no one else was talking. we would be like dude stop saying that so loud there are people around and thats a bizarre thing to be saying at theater volume but he would just say more final fantasy lines.idk how old you are but im gonna guess under 30 -- i feel like ppl younger than us have a really bad sense for when someone is joking around...i mean people say "zoomers dont laugh" and stuff like that which i dont think is true actually but theres definitely a lack of just like....goofiness in general? idk. if theres like an awkward silence or tension of some kind he would just start saying goofy lines to get ppl onto another subject, hes basically just filling the air like you have to do on the radio. most ppl dont know this but on a real radio broadcast you actually get fined by the fcc if there's "dead air" aka more than 5 seconds of silence. not really sure why that is, but in radio training they basically teach you to say SOMETHING no matter what rather than having dead air, and i think he did some of that at least. its also kind of the case in theater, where if someone else forgets their line or something goes wrong and no one knows what to do, just repeating your lines in an increasingly funny voice is a pretty good way to get the attention on you and "take the fall" instead of letting the person who forgot their lines or messed up melt under the spotlight if you know what i mean.
>>58496663yeah idk about that, i got a gameboy fairly late and my first game was silver so most ppl already knew a lot more than i did. i mean i looked a lot of stuff up and made my parents buy me the strategy guides lol, im not saying i did it with my massive awesome brain or anything. it wouldnt have bothered me if she was just looking stuff up but thats another way of learning really. making someone else do it every single time isnt even really playing, its more like watching them play. sort of similarly, both of my sisters would occasionally want to play like a gamecube game i was playing, not even like a hard one just like windwaker or kirby air ride or something, and they would make my parents make me give them a turn, but then they would get bored and stop in like literally 5 minutes. eventually i was just like ok sure knowing they wouldnt actually play any real amount. not saying they have to like what i like obviously but it seemed like they wanted to play and yet at the first thing they didnt get immediately they would just feel like they failed and stop rather than trying agian.a worse example was that one time later, when i was like 15 and they were like 10ish, they were trying to set up the wii which had been put away for some reason, and they came and asked me to do it. i was busy with something and i was like "each of the cords only goes in one spot, just look at the holes and find the cord that goes in that hole, you cant mess up" and they went back to it and idk just wouldnt do it. they made my mom make me do it. i was like ok thats genuinely weird...setting up a wii is childproofed on purpose, you just put the things where they fit. but idk they were like afraid of it exploding or something. i really dont know.
>>58496725Interesting because I was wondering about it. I honestly thought he had ocd or something kek
>writing walls of text about your male classmate from a decade agojesus op how badly do you want to fuck him
>>58496684i will admit that i have had that though before lol. its the glasses really. he had some cooler clear frame glasses for a while when he was in college but i guess he went back to the basic rectangularish wire ones lol. 11 minutes in photoshoop....before the recent haircut he looked legit exactly the same as he did in highschool well over ten yrs ago, which is pretty funny bc he was a good bit skinnier in college from taking up running. that tasty japanese food must have undone his fitness lol. omurice...katsu curry...cheese gyudon and all that. he really liked salty food always, would snack on olives, so theres probably a lot of temptations de nippon for him kek. i assume he gets like one big haircut twice a year or every few months and then lets it grow out a while, i do basically the same thing but on a year cycle.
>>58496907>11 minutes in photoshoophow did that take 11 minutes and you could have done it in paint
>>58496706thats actually pretty surprising to me, huh. i assumed he would just totally stay away from politics stuff cause thats what he mostly did back then as far as i recall. im pretty much in the same place other than being of european descent, though in retrospect i appreciate gw bush and mike pence type conservatives a lot more than i did before trump. ppl forget that for all the goofing on him pppl do, mike pence is the one who stood up to trump on jan 6th, stood his ground in congress while a mob barged in and certified that trump lost the election (as well as his own loss as vp.). gw bush as well spoke out truly against anti muslim stuff right after 9/11 which is just so different from the literal pol products that call themselves conservatives now. anyways not the point of this thread!!!! and i will say no mores about such subjects.
>>58496798i type at 100 wpm as i mentioned previously. faster than talking with my mouth. i was already pretty good but then during college i had a side gig writing bespoke blogspam to game google searches. made 60k over a few years but then i got fired for starting to write nonsense rambling about yugioh and junk into the articles. actually did that for almost a year before anyone noticed because no one was checking kek. i would just put something on tv and type away with only half my brain. it was a big industry in the days before chatgpt, and as a matter of fact its quite likely that the owner of that business sold all the articles as chatgpt training material, since i'm sure he knew his business would be killed by it and thats the only way he could exit with a good sum to start something else. if that did happen, i contributed 8 million words to chatgpt's original several-billion-word corpus, or about 1 part in 50,000. i'm quite possibly personally responsible for a good number of the times it acts weird and nonsensical.
>>58496926i didnt actually count the minutes. i basically always have a pirated version of photoshop open for work anyway.
>>58496926also you didnt look nearly close enough! compare the eyebrows.
are you watching him right now OP
>>58497058no lol. you made me worried i made something bad happen by posting here but it hasnt as far as i can tell. did something funny happen? idk its kind of too weird since i know him really. not that i watch streams anyway generally...i watched a bit of aui_2000 and eternalenvy dota streams like idk six or seven years ago when they were playing in TI, but it got kinda boring eventually because they didnt really say much. i guess you cant really when playing high level dota cause it takes a lot of focus. it was fairly funny for a while though because they reminded me of a lot of the guys i was in classes with at college....aui_2000 especially, like chill seeming hoodie wearin guys who didnt act like they especially cared about grades and often didnt pay much attention in class, but then you would find out they were like secretly chess grandmasters or state tennis champ in hs and you would be like what?? him?? he looks half asleep in class lol...maybe i will watch some later, like put it on the tv or something and do some cooking or cleaning idk. streams just arent enough stimulation for me or something...or i suppose maybe it irks me not to be able to click the buttons myself. also with regard to this particular stream the awful new pokemon games are just depressing lol. i already have to stop myself from ranting about how many things sucked bananas in sun/moon which are the last ones i played. actually until finding this guys channel i hadnt thought about pokemon for probably the longest stretch of time since i was like fucking 4. until i found it i didnt even know there were new games out & i was like damn they really did get so bad that i stopped thinking about pokemon. last thing i played was butterspeed nuzlocke in emerald...may do that again, its pretty fun to have on teh phone. last run i got a shiny butterfree & it survived the whole time, getting two or three absolute clutch compoundeyes sleep powders. only he & armaldo survived the champ.
God you type like such a faggot, are you 12? How is this thread still up? Are you just samefagging this hard? Stop advertising your stream and your fucking blog.
>>58497150>idk its kind of too weird since i know him really.dunno why you think it's weird to watch his stream but not type 20 paragraphs about him. I'm actually watching it right now because of this thread while playing ZA trying to get all of these shitty side missions done. dunno why I'm even bothering to do these.
>>58496233Literally who?
>>58497191my left shift key is broken so i have to save the right for when i really need it cause if that breaks i wont have any shift key at all. what will i do then? caps lock every time i need a capital letter? that doesnt work for question marks anyway. i could probably make do without them but then ill sound rather sardonic wont isamefagging is when someones pretending to be different people. im not i just can write a lot with little effort. think of it like text to speech except rather than using a program i can just use my fingers. you can probably derive that im not this guy from the fact that i was posting here while he has been streaming...if you do a little thinking you will see plainly that he couldnt be live playing a game as well as doing this. unless you think maybe hes doing it with his toes or something. but he would have to be truly one of a kind to be doing both those things at the same time.now as a matter of fact, i can actually have about 50% of a talking conversation with someone while i type at 100 wpm, so i can kind of go on one and a half streams at once, but i miss a lot of things in the talking conversation and make more typoes while typing as well. i can rant about something pretty well while typing about something else, but i cant listen very well at all while typing. funnily however if i rant via talking while talking via typing i will often accidentally type a word that i was saying rather than the word that i meant to type, if theyre sort of close to each other. like if i was ranting about asparagus for some reason via my mouth and typing about aspergillus i would probably do a mixup pretty often.
What the fuck is this thread? Are you fucking schizophrenic or something? I feel like I'm missing something, why are you writing a novel about this guy ITT like anyone cares? I genuinely think something might be wrong with you my friend.
>>58497410i dont mean "weird" in the "is this cringe/is this creepy" sense that you young folks (i presume) use it, i dont really care about that kind of thing at all. i mean "weird" in the sense of sensorily disturbing and unpleasant, like a bad roller coaster ride. i actually dont feel anything on roller coasters but you get the point. well i feel nervous but i just sit through the whole ride stone faced. anyway what was really disturbing feeling -- perhaps unsettling is the right word -- is that i didnt know he was taking onstream donations to read comments until i saw it happen a few times, for like 2, 5, and even 10 dollars, just for him to read someones comment from the chat out loud on the stream. i guess i saw pro dota players do that on their streams a few times but it just seemed more goofy because these were guys who were making a lot of money from the tournaments and stuff. however with him since i know him it struck me as having more of a sort of sad like onlyfans kinda vibe lmao, i guess parasocial would be the word...not sad that he was doing it exactly, or rather not for him, but sad that people would really do that...like 2, 5 or even 10 dollrs is not that much money really, some people make more than they know what to do with, but idk, its just strange.the most disturbing thing of this nature ive seen was those like "npc streams" where someone would just sit there blank until someone paid like 50 cents for them to do one of their present "actions" and then they would say something like "ice cream so good!" and do it as identically s they could every time. not sure how big of a thing that ever was really but it sure was freaky. its really not even unique to him; as i said i dont really like watching streams in general. im so used to being in control of the motion and the action while looking at a game that its almost like getting carsick. not that that happens to me in point of fact but you get the point.
>>58497430this guy i know? what? i explained didnt it?
>>58496630You lost me here lol
>>58497764the max length for a post on 4chan is 2000 characters. at 5-7 characters a word, thats somewhere between 250 and 400 words per post. (mental math. you can check it if you like.) i write at 100 wpm. you can derive for yourself how long writing a max length post takes me. based on the way that you write, and your apparent confusion with respect to the 30 or 40 minutes ive spent in total talking via text here, im going to assume that you find typing somewhat difficult, as in you struggle to get beyond 20-40 wpm if that, and therefore typing is very different for you from talking. for me its not. its like a reverse steven hawking. or maybe you're on a phone -- sadly all too likely these days -- and youre limited by that medium in terms of your ability to talk via text. it would be really sad if youre one of those people that never learned to use a proper keyboard, whether old enough that you didnt have one growing up or young enough that you only had a touchscreen device rather than a proper computer. or hey, its possible that you were busy doing other things rather than typing, like playing sports or whatever. but what does "like anyone cares" mean? did i ask you to care? i asked a specific question which was if anyone had heard of this guy. a few people had and said this or that, and i responded to their posts, which i consider polite since they were nice enough to provide the information i was looking for.
>>58497792what exactly is confusing? if you elaborate i can explain as best i can. im probably going to go to bed in an hour or so though.
>>58497774>Make thread about random guy you used to know personally years ago>Spam aimless creepy paragraphs about him>Act like a fucking bitch when someone engages with your dumb threadLong walk off short pier
>how is this thread still upive literally just been responding to people replying? bizarre thing to say. i usually hold myself to that because ill give myself carpaled tunnels again otherwise from talking too much. i really only got it bad from working at burlington coat factory for a few months but ever since then it can get a bit painy if i type for too long. they had me in the back taking the inserts out of shoes and wiring the lock things through the eyeholes. that shit sucked!!!!!! i was only even there cause i wanted to work at the mall at least once in my life. i just wanted to put the shoes on the shelves n stuff and they said they would have me do cashier half the day and then back of house half the day if it was busy but they fucking lied and just put me in the back all day. somebody's got to do it i guess but it cant be me, my wrists are pencil thin and i fractured the right one falling down in 8th grade as it is. so yeah imagine if i actually posted without even waiting for anyone else to post. wouldnt that be wild if i did that.
>>58497807well hes got 38k subscribers and a few people here had seen him before in their sidebars or w/e or even watched his streams. so in fact the answer to my question was yes. how is it spamming if im responding to people? what?sorry for being a little sarcastic. gosheroo.
Dude you are fucking weird as hell and the premise of this thread is somehow even weirder. This is the brainworms schizo shit I come here for. Love it, godspeed
>>58497833literally just me talking about utterly normal thingsif you have any difficulty understanding me you are genuinely semiliterate. sorry to bear bad news.
You have to have some kind of mental disease. I’m going to assume Asperger’s since you’re having a hard time grasping how typing about this streamer so much is weird. And no, I shouldn’t have to define the word weird, to a normal person it’s intuitive what it means in this context. Please take your medication.
kek he just made a dick joke for the mission where you show the girl an ekans
>>58497843Man, none of what you are doing and saying is normal whatsoever. Like I've been using this board since it opened and this is genuinely one of the strangest threads I think I've seen. If you can't see that there might be something wrong with you.
>>58497855my poor friend is only six hours into his likely twelve fucking hour stream and you think this typing here now and again is a schizo amount of work? what does that make every streamer then? completely deranged? to be fair, thats quite possibly the case, as those people's deets are often weird "asl" as the kids say when they come out. some people stream like 12 hours *every* day. i know my friend on the other hand has at least some other life outside of it which will hopefully prevent him from becoming as nutso as those people typically are. those every-damn-day streamers do tend to get this really disturbingly haggard look to them. only other people ive seen looking that haggard are lidl managers lelel. did you forget that this is a guy i actually know really well? people used to have actual friends in the olden days. this is like if they were doing a documentary on some famous person and they went and found their friends from school so they could ask them a question. do you have any questions? well i guess you dont necessarily care about this guy. since its not like YOU know him or anything. but in that case, why are YOU in this thread? you dont care about him or me. i believe then that we have hit upon the real question. ironically replying to my posts without clicking the numbers is literally the 4chan equivalent of having difficulty with eye contact. i am looking you straight in the face right now and you can't meet my eyes. look at me bitch. just joking around to be clear! just a little funnin.
>>58497883long posts scare everyone here because they spent 10000s of hours of their life playing pokemon instead of reading and writing
>>58497865these are pretty interesting notes, thank you. i expected him to be doing a more like "kid friendly" sort of thing but based on what you & a few other people are saying it actually seems a lot more like when we were just hanging out with people in highschool. ofc in that context he was like the least edgy person there generally but i expected him to keep this pretty mr rogers tier. not sure how to feel about that as id assume a lot of the people watching a pokemon stream are pretty young...
>>58497883if you were his friend why did you say he disappeared and that you were kind of mean to him before? and wouldn't you say hi or something in the stream because for you he disappeared?
>>58497894i get not wanting to read random long posts but like why do they get mad? well i know really, its because they TRY to read them, but they lose their place or get confused on grammar, and this makes them angry, because they dont THINK theyre poor readers. as a result they get angry at me instead. its a really common behavior pattern with people who have difficulty reading and won't admit it to other people or to themselves. its pretty mean of me to keep poking them in the nose about it but god they are so annoying. i wish they were playing pokemon. if they were playing pokemon they wouldnt have this problem, because playing pokemon involves READING. you have to read the things people say to figure out what to do, and you have to read the moves to find out what they do. what they were actually doing was watching videos of other people playing pokemon, in which you *see* the text, but you don't actually have to *read* it, because you don't need the information to continue watching the video, unlike how you would with playing a video game.
I watched his SV streams since I never played the game myself. It was hilarious discovering game bugs with a live chat. I have a weird fondness for it now.
>>58497905i made fun of him once or twice for obsessing about one girl or another. as far as meanness goes that barely rates. having friends irl usually involves forgiving some degree of dicky behavior when people are in a bad mood or just say something mean without thinking. important thing in all relationships really. i was never really on social media at all, after the end of highschool i only talked to 2 people from there on steam and skype and idk at some point i stopped using skype and he stopped using steam and we were just busy with other things. i started living with a gurl around that time as well lel. of course i could say hi to him but like i dont really have any online presence, we live literally 5000 miles away so that its day when its night for each other and he spends all his time working and then streaming on the weekends; i work in a very different business so like what would we talk about? like hey sup whats good? im sure he would talk a bit but hes putting in tons and tons of work on this, im not gonna take up his time with chatting when hes gonna have to be sleeping whenever hes not working in order to get enough sleep and not go crazy like other streamers.
(cont)he did make one shorter video about playing turtlewow, which is a free classic wow server modified with fan additions -- at the time he posted the video, i was actually also playing turtlewow, but this was several months before i even knew about his channel. he was already level 60 in turtlewow when he posted the video, so apparently hes also doing THAT in whatever free time he fucking has between working and streaming...this guy goes hard like i said!! i would like to play turtlewow with him since you can do a lot of fun stuff even just with 2 people, but i was playing horde and he was alliance. i made an allliance character once i found out about this but im only level 20 so far. it doesnt take that long to level in turtlewow (2x exp compared to classic wow) but i dont go that hard on things as i said loll. plus itd be way the hell funnier if i joined his discord and just pretended to be a fan for a while and then like started to seem to know more and more things about him that a random person shouldnt know. due i suppose to my own competitive nature im tempted to start making my own video game videos of some kind...not to do what he does exactly because having a fanbase seems exhausting kinda, but just to demonstrate that i COULD so that if he wants a guest on stream i could do it. seems a lot easier to do things if you have someone to trade off with. idk! longer term plan anyway.
>>58497940hmmmmmmmm. interesting. youre giving me an idea. perhaps i will make an extremely buggy pokemon fangame that he could do a stream about. i mean, not buggy on purpose, but i only took one class on computer science so im sure it would have bugs in it. and if they were funny i could just leave them in. not a bad idea. ive always wanted to make a pokemon fangame but never did...doing romhacks seems really complicated and building something from the ground up in pygame or godot seems like a lot to learn as well. i mean i have a job and stuff!!...well not a job exactly but i do things for money. legal things! i run several internet stores if you must know. (not that you asked.) but you know with this handy new chatgpt thing anyone can do anything in fairly short order right? at least with respect to programming. ive had it write me some photoshop scripts in javascript that were pretty helpful -- funnily the first few versions it wrote actually errored out due to it making mistakes, but when i reported the errors back to it, it was able to edit the code to fix whatever caused the error, and after a few rounds it worked as intended. kind of just like doing the programming yourself really. that was easy enough and i dont know anything about javascript whereas i am fairly familiar with python so it should be easier with pygame or godot. i kind of had a thing about wanting to make at least some kind of game by the end of this year...not a firm ny resolution or anything, but i wanted to finally do it. maybe i will, this way....it could all be coming together. however its hard to strike a balance between wacky and buggy in a way thats *funny* vs in a way that just seems forced or lazy. its always funny when theres bugs in real games because you dont expect them, but if its just a very buggy random game someone made then its not that interesting. so i suppose ill have to have an idea thats ambitious enough to create organic bugs. (that theres an idea in itself.)
>>58496409This. I like his edited videos, but whenever he streams he seems like a miserable tryhard.

>>58498034good to know! i guess its not "the thing youve always been waiting for" or whatever thing it is godot says. why is it so hard to make the thing we've been waiting for...they even know what it is, they just cant help but mess it up. what is the deal, seriously?guess i will just go with pygame then, or else like py3d or something. a reasonably novel idea i suppose would be to generate fakemons via ai in some way, ideally just locally via a simple thing like pix2pix trained on a database of animals compared against pokemon based on those animals. i would have to find pictures of animals posed in similar ways to their derived pokemon and then remove the backgrounds in order to create the training set, but as there are over a thousand pokemon now its probably enough to at least get some semblance of results. thinking further, i would actually have a lot more images to work with, if i used all official art of pokemon based on animals and matched up that art to the real animals in similar poses. that would definitely give me enough training material to build a simple model that users could then run locally to generate fakemons from animals. perhaps i could include objects as well.really perhaps objects are a better thing to start with! objects have a much more limited range of poses. for anyone reading whose unfamiliar, this is different from simply putting "create a lizard fakemon" or w/e into something like dall-e -- this would be creating my own ai locally, which supposedly is fairly doable with a regular pc if your dataset is only a few thousand before-and-after image pairs...users could then run this trained-on-pokemon-only ai on their own machines rather than having to use a 3rd party general image generator like dall-e.maybe this is a stupid idea. "ai slop" and all. but pokemon randomizers were always pretty fun, whereas other procedurally generated games are mostly samey and boring. pokemon's just got that something about it.
>>58498055ironically no. people have thought that often (including my mom) but in fact this is just what happens if i get enough sleep and i DONT smoke weed. i didnt start actually getting enough sleep until starting to be self-employed and getting to sleep whenever i wanted. im pretty sure my mom has thought ive been a coke addict since then but ive literally never used any stimulants but caffeine. i might explode if i did. ive had like 2 energy drinks and a cup of coffee today, but the last one was like 9 hours ago. getting kind of tired but dont feel like i could sleep yet. its kind of a problem because i will then proceed to sleep 8 hours regardless of when i actually go to bed...often i cant sleep until 4 or 5 unless i got really tired out that day, and then ill sleep until noon or even like 2pm. its pretty helpful to have a little WEED because then i can fall asleep at a normal hour and wake up at a normal hour.but i dont have any WEED right now because i made a very serious resolution not to buy any WEED until trump is no longer president. im allowed to smoke weed that other people buy me or give me, and so far its been about half the time since january that ive had weed from people giving it to me. it was my girlfriend a lot of the time but also a few literally random people on the street...i dont know how they knew i wanted some WEED but they just knew i guess. mysterioso! it was a 60 yr old woman drinking a beer on the sidewalk once (actually twice cause i went back a few months later and she was there still, or rather again; i think she lives around there, but its somewhat far from me) and then this super duper drunk guy once walked up to me right after i finished smoking the last weed i had at that time...he was like "hey man what are you smoking in that pipe" and i was like uhh just weed and he was like "niiiice i got some of that for you man" and gave me a nug of weed, then sat down and started talking to me and asking where to get liquor.
Autism is a hell of a drug
(cont)the answer was nowhere cause it was 1230 am and they dont sell liquor after 11 in new jersey. i told him that and he was like "what dude? i'm in new jersey?" i was like yes? and he was like "dude what the fuck? how do i get to new york from here?" and fortunately the path subway was only like 2 blocks away. he was like "alright man, thanks man, yeah they aint gonna stop me from.....riding the raaaaaaails man" as in he was going to jump over the turnstile. as he was so blind drunk he could hardly sit up, i gave him my metrocard with a few rides on it so he wouldnt try to jump the turnstile and end up cracking his head open. only fair since he gave me that weed. as he went to walk away i was like see ya round man, thanks for the weed and held up what he gave me. he was like "dude what? i gave you that?" i was like yes? do you want it back? you can have it back if you need it. and he thought about it for like five seconds and then was like "naaah man. im generous take it man. take it. im a generous man." well i just gave him like ten dollars of train rides for a bucks worth of weed so whos generous there really? but he was, cause he did give it to me first without any conditions, he just forgot in five minutes lmao. funny guy, he was like 40 or 50 and had no phone just an old battery powered radio playing really really staticy like acdc pzzy osbourne classic rock. city livin.

>>58498106ironically after its changed ownership several times tumblr is now the only other big place besides 4chan with basically no rules. in fact you could never actually get *banned* for being a sex realist, but as of now the only rules are no pics of genitals and no "promotion of self harm" aka no cutting or saying kys. tumblr was actually where a lot of terfs started going (or going back to) during the period when twitter was banning them hardcore along with reddit. the nice thing about tumblr is that its actually a blog host -- you get an actual proper webpage thats indexed by google and publicly viewable, rather than just a gated-behind-login social media page as with other platforms. the advantages of this are a bit subtle -- the big one is that you can actually fully & freely edit the html of your tumblr like a geocities. but also, posting things on tumblr with linkbacks to another site is a million times better for seo purposes than posting on other social media. i use a tumblr as a blog for a business site of mine and even though i dont get that many likes or visible interactions, it has an enormous effect on seo and traffic. kind of a hidden secret imo. i could say a lot more about why tumblr is actually good (in fact excellent) but thats not what this thread is about so i wont!

>CheeseI watch this guy pretty often because he's but what the fuck did i just read in this threadthis is advanced autism on display
honestly training an ai model on object and plant based pokemon would probably be pretty doable without too much human effort in putting together the data banks. the training set would be a collection of object & plant pokemon sprites, plus a corresponding collection of images of the objects and plants those pokemon are based on. image-to-image training sets of this nature require at least a thousand or so image pairs to give good results (according to chatgpt anyway lol) so i could use multiple games' sprites for each pokemon plus several different images of the object/plant its based on. if thats not enough image pairs i could just have some of the sprites in there twice corresponding to different images of the object/plant. could be a funny idea. the plot of the game based on this technology could involve a "pokemon generator" that turns any object or plant into a pokemon -- and of course it would be illegal to throw in an animal, because thats animal testing! (though there arent really many non-pokemon animals in pokemon anyway. just a few fish...and it would be funny if fish just turned into magikarps.) some possible haywires with this -- if people are adding their own image of an object/plant to turn into a pokemon, the results would depend on them putting in a good picture, ideally with the object centered on a white background and pictured front-on. i could have some controls to check that in a basic way but i would have no way of preventing people from putting in a picture thats actually an animal...i suppose it would be enough to explain why that probably wont work well and then let people do what they like. someone could also put in like a dildo but that would be on them. you could also put in a picture of a real pokemon, or of a doll or figurine of a real pokemon...but thats kind of a cool idea, like an object pokemon thats a ghostly possessed statue of another pokemon? kind of like a mimikyuu but with those rhydon statues that were everywhere lol.

>>58498395i also thought of kind of a wrinkle with that pix2pix image-to-image model idea, which is that pokemon generally have backsprites as well as a main sprite -- it wouldnt really be possible to "flip" things, since the back of something isnt always the same as the front, and it wouldnt really work to make a separate model for backsprites either, because they would then come out looking possibly quite different from the front sprite for a given object/plant thats being pokemonized.so i would probably want to make my game such that only front sprites are used. i actually did make a really tiny demo of a "metroidvania" style pokemon game several years ago, aka one that works sort of like pokemon legends seems to in that you have a trainer that walks around & then pokemon moving around to some extent on their own. (when i say a tiny demo i mean literally one screen where you can move back and forth and then if you go past the middle a hidden spearow flies at you out of a tree. i think my idea was to have it start a battle if your trainer touches a wild pokemon (or meets eyes with a trainer ofc i suppose) but the battle screen could be two front sprites against each other on a somewhat wider screen/field.(1/2)
with that setup for the game i wouldnt have to worry about backsprites, and i would also be able to utilize a lot more free assets as theres a lot of free 2d pixel art for side scrolling games. so that is what i will go with for now. before i can start on that though i will have to accumulate the image training sets. another nother wrinkle i suppose is how to generate types, stats, and movesets for a converted plant/object...types i could probably get by webscraping the results of a google reverse image search for the plant/object for type words or type-related words, aka for a battery it would probably include electric or electricity somewhere in those results. stats could be harder. i could do the ez thing and simply give generated mons the average stats for their assigned type, and then a random selection of moves based to some extent on their type, the way that pokemon randomizers do...but idk, thats hard to tune, i feel like it would end up being either boring and samey between generated mons or else just too random and unpredictable, sometimes awful sometimes op. maybe this is stupid idea and i should do something else. really ive just been wanting to train a pix2pix model since i learned recently that its fairly doable on a regular pc with a few thousand corresponding image pairs. well whatever! ill keep thinking. (2/2)
>>58496233i hate it when people show their ugly mug onlinei never watch them
>>58499738i wouldnt say it that strongly, but i basically feel the same way. i absolutely hate when theyre staring dead eyed straight at the screen especially. i appreciate that this guy isnt looking right at the screen (or right into the camera rather) but instead hes recording himself at somewhat of an oblique angle, making it look more or less as if he's "looking at" the game he's playingi could go on a whole tangent about how phones and videos cause eye contact problems that instinctually get on peoples nerves without them realizing, but all ill say itt is that its bad not to have eye contact with a person youre talking to irl (ie because theyre looking at a phone the whole time) and its also bad to have eye contact with people who aren't there with you irl (as is the case when someone makes a video looking directly into the camera.) with regard to that, its the human brain's instinct to think that eye contact with someone means you're currently talking...the lizard brain doesnt understand that its only a video, it expects human respect and reactions from anyone youre in eye contact with, and it gets upset and nervous if it doesnt get normal human interpersonal reactions.
you know, on second (or third) thought, i would have to compile quite a lot of stuff to embark on that project -- obecjt/plantmon and corresponding objects/plants for training the model, and then text files with all the abilities, stats, etc to assign those for a given generated object/plantmon, plus i guess also a list of all the items in pokemon, before i could even embark on making the game itself. also i have no idea if the pix2pix image-to-image training would actually make anything interesting...though i feel like it would be funny regardless. i had another idea thats just now coming back to me about a side-scrolling pokemon game set in ancient egypt using philip glass's akhnaten as a soundtrack. i think ancient egypt is cool but also it being an ancient setting would explain why things are different -- in other words there could be no balls, or only really rare artisanal apricorn ones that are considered sacred, and you would juts have like 1 to 3 pokemon walking around with you and fighting other things...i think its already the case that in the "ancient times" of the pokemon universe they didnt have the laws against pokemon fighting people or w/e that they do in the modern pokemon world. so things could get real scary!maybe i will embark on doing that first since i pretty much already know what i want to do and how generally to do it...and last time i was thinking about this idea chatgpt hadnt been invented yet in fact! so yeah i guess why not right? then i can use whatever side-scrolling pokemon game engine i make (with chatgpts help) as a base for doing the game with object/plantmon generation. that seems a more reasonable way to go about things. i actually drew out a map for an ancient egypt pokemon game in a notebook a looooong time ago but i have literally no idea where that is now. too many notebooks. keep your stuff organized folks...

>>58500354yall are really nuts these days honestly. between >>58498370 and >>58499472 i was asleep and then i went out for a mcdonalds sausage egg mcbiscuit which i won for free in the mcmonopoly game. i bought tomatoes, jalapenos, basil, and corn at the produce store down the street from mcdonalds and then i came home and did about an hour of work (my real normal work) and then just now i had chatgpt write a basic python mainloop for the sidescrolling pokemon fangame in pygame that i talked about.you can get a lot done if you dont watch videos or scroll your phone sonny boy!here's the python script if you want to start making a game like this yourself -- https://pastebin.com/aTAAfLJN -- you'll need to install python and the dependencies if you dont have them, but fortunately chatgpt can also tell you how to do that. it can also explain the code to you if you paste it back in, and tell you what you need to do to make any kind of sidescrolling pokemon game you might want. (or any other game for that matter really, but whatever.) i havent checked to see if this code works yet cause i need to install a few dependencies myself, but it already did one neat think i never thought of, which is that it implemented a feature that draws animated shapes if sprites aren't found (and it actually generates placeholder sprite sheets if none are found.) but if they had this functionality in pokemon red/blue then there would have been no missingno! if i wanted to have my own missingnos, i would have to ask chatgpt to alter that to load a random part of a random file from the system as if it were a sprite if a sprite fails to load. but it would be kind of goofy to create glitch potential artificially like that. keep telling me to take pills while you watch videos and do fuck nothing lmaoforget that last line theres no need to be mean on a pokemon board. who am i, gary? shit...maybe...
gee whizzing whillikers it works! technology is wild these days folksnote that chatgpt literally made up the fake pokemon "scarabeet," i didnt even notice until running the script. not half bad. i wasnt going to make fakemons for this but i may just leave in scarabeet as a tribute to my creative partner here, mr roboto himself.
ctrl-f'd "scarabeet" in the code and found the list of test species chatgpt created without asking. fairly funny! well half of them are. desertlark, sandpup, ra-hound and mini-scarab aren't quite right, those are more like rpg enemy names. i still intend to just make a fangame with real pokemon for now, but i think ill keep scarabeet, sphixling and mummat in, and maybe ra-hound, as a tribute to chatgpt for doing the heavy lifting here in terms of code. scarabeet sounds like a kriketot/volbeat mid size single stage bug to me, and i could see an evolution tree that goes sphinxling --> ra-hound --> mummat, i think you can picture sphinxling yourself, and probably ra-hound, just from the names -- at first a puppy with a sphinx type mini mane, then a slender somewhat adolescent classic middle stage with a more "pharaoh anubis" vibe, and then mummat is the adult that starts to get leathery peeling away skin from all the desert winds and stuff. i'm picturing sort of sandstorm hunters, ground type, maybe ground/dark, or maybe just mummat is ground/ghost and the others are ground...they hunt in packs by whipping up sandstorms with their howling and then blending in with the sands to nip and exhaust things until they collapse blinded by the sand. scary!however, i will ask chatgpt what it was picturing when it made up these mons, without telling it my interpretation. curious what it will say.
it looks like we were more or less on the same wavelength for scarabeet, sphixling and ra-hound, at least as far as the general look and vibe of the critters. i like my idea for mummat better though...i suppose i would of course, but chatgpt's idea here strikes me as being really "later gen" in the sense of like, why is it wrapped in linen? where does it get that from? and then changing from a bimplet little weak thing into a big "regal" thing in the late stages is rather later-gen as well...but its not like i specified "only be inspired by the earlier gens" or anything -- i didnt even know it was going to get creative!but now i'm really freakin out, and heres why...did you notice in the description for ra-hound that it invented light type? that makes sense, of course, because ancient egyptians didnt know about electricity - a glowing pikachu or zapdos would seem to them to have light powers, not electrical. we do still call lightning lightning after all -- people thought it was a bolt of light, because they didn't know about electricity at all.so thats pretty clever. but its not why im freakin out. im freakin out because *i had the exact same idea 7 or 8 years ago when i started thinking about an egyptian pokemon game.* i had the thought that electric pokemon would have seemed to have light powers, and they might well have held them sacred above other pokemon. how fucking crazy is that?not as crazy as it might first seem, i suppose, because light is a pretty common "new type" for people to talk about...and its not like it said that ra-hound has electric powers perceived as light. so it's not quite the same thing. i'm freakin out a little less now having thought about it that way. but you really cant stop this thing from getting creative on you!
>>58496233never heard of him
this is perhaps the oddest thread I've ever readnow I would like my 400 word response from OP filled with tangents and personal anecdotes thanks
>>58500855i have to do at least some of my regular work today or ill be really behind and my wrist is starting to hurt. so you may be out of luck. i'm letting chatgpt make its own pixel art designs for the pokemon it spontaneously invented though. this one is kind of just a beetle lol. its supposed to have hieroglyphs on the wings but that doesnt really come out in pixel art i suppose.i assumed scarabeet was scarab plus beet considering beets are pretty important agriculturally in egypt, and in ancient times sugar beets were one of the few ways that people could get any kind of sugar type thing, honey being basically the only other. beets are dark and shiny like a beetle so i thought a beet beetle was a need idea. the sugar part could also be involved in a sort of honeydew like way...not the melon (though those are pretty big [as in important[ in egypt as well) but rather the sugarwater type "dew" that aphids will make as they drink tree sap and sort of sweat out the sugar thats beyond their nutritional needs. lots of potential there! i bet that when it made up the name "scarabeet" it was a bit influenced by the importance of beets in egypt, but when i asked it to expand on that it forgot about it...or maybe it was really just shortening "scarab beetle" the whole time and it was only me seeing the relation to beets the vegetable. anyhow! neat stuff.
here's what it did for sphinxling -- this one is kind of just a tan espeon with little wings lol. and it doesnt really
LMAO when i said it looked a lot like espeon it tried again instead of doing ra-hound as i asked. quirky!this one is a little more different indeed, but funnily, its getting something kind of wrong -- egyptian sphinxes dont have wings!
well this just looks a lot like the second iteration of sphinxling lol. pretty nice anyway but i think mr roboto is getting a little mixed up.

hey, this one is just amumu from league! well whatever. ill tell chatgpt my interpretations of its invented fakemon names and see how it feels.this is all somewhat of a sidetrack to my actual project idea; i wouldnt actually be intending to use any ai-generated assets or anything else, i just wanted to do this because of the new pokemon chatgpt invented without asking as placeholders in the script i asked it to make. perhaps it wasnt able to just use existing pokemon due to copyright restrictions it has to work with? or maybe it assumed i wouldnt want to violate copyright law myself lol. not really a problem in the long run, i can just add in real pokemon and their real sprites myself.

>>58501214Sorry, I guess I didn't really clarify. It's still a Pokémon game through and through and you are battling Pokémon pretty much (some battles were pretty challenging). However, the storyline and progression is pretty much similar to the YuGiOh VRAINS anime. Hope this helps. Not sure if you're into the fangame scene at all, but I'd personally rank this game ahead of stuff like Unbreakable Ties and most Spanish fangames. But I do personally think Rejuvenation and the Soulstones series are slightly better. But still a solid game! You really need to be patient and play it through; the payoff is worth it.
This thread is disturbing to say the least, you need serious fuckin help ASAP
>>58501514i guess that makes sense, uhm, sort of? theres some kind of cyber world within it or something? or its in cyberspace? i never watched any of the yugioh stuff past where yugi was in it. i havent looked into fangames in quite a few years; ive played a few romhacks but prefer basic difficulty ones. last time i looked into it there were just starting to be some pokemon games built from the ground up in rpgmaker but they were very very laggy and not great in a number of ways (although they looked pretty nice.) i did wonder why people didnt just code new games from the ground up because its not like the functionalities are very complicated and gen1/2/3 style graphics would be pretty easy to implement as well since people have extracted all the sprites from the games long ago. ive never been patient with games tho lol if i feel like time is being wasted...it feels disrespectful when people have lots of things to do. like if a game is going to involve grinding of any kind it had better be thrilling or beautiful or nice in some way. i think wow is pretty good in that regard as the world is nice, the music is nice, and its an mmo so you have to always be on your guard to some extent (on a pvp server anyway)...that is its not just sitting there clicking or whatever. i basically got really sad about games in general once those fricking explicit-grind "cookie clicker" things started appearing, its like the isekai anime of games, like a game about being a game. not saying this is that (ofc i wouldnt know yet) but your caveat scares me a bit. my girlfriend has more patience with that kind of thing usually; ill tell her about it & maybe she will be interested and then ill get to see what its like without having to play grindy parts myself. (or i could watch a video! just kidding. i have less patience for that than grindy games themselves. different when its gf of course because then its a conversation instead of just one-way watching.)tyvm for the deets!!

(i know sports betting is "normal" now but i grew up when it was very illegal & the only way to bet on sports was under the table to some sketchy bookie who probably had mob connections or w/e. in my town it was this sweatsuit wearing guy who owned a liquor store, at least according to me dad.)i didnt say any of this mattered to you...i'm just talking.

>>58501989No problem! DESU, I think I was kinda underselling it a bit - its runtime *is* longer than than the Switch releases Game Freak has been sharting out the last few years. But it doesn't overstay its welcome. It was nice because Imported Cheese talked about it a fair amount in his streams, from time to time, and it was cool to get insider knowledge on the dev process for Pokémon Virtualization. I think the other main dev (Vincent? I think?) would sometimes pop up in the streams. And yes, that's kinda the gist of it. The VRAINS anime itself is a bit polarizing but I think he was able to capture that essence decently well. All the best!
>>58502430neato. i didnt know he ever learned programming stuff, i dont think he did in college but i guess he must have taught himself. he was always pretty good at that kinda effort, he actually got on the junior varsity tennis team in like 9th or 10th grade by practicing for a few months over the summer despite never playing tennis before or really any sports at all.
I don't even know what to reply to because there's so much shit. Anyway it's not like he's whoring himself out for donos or has to push sketchy shit on people because most of the money just comes from ad revenue.
>>58502716uncalled-for language there sir! he does take donations on stream though, like he reads things out loud if people pay to highlight their comments. its pretty awkward to see i thouight...having to read other peoples sometimes funny sometimes kinda lame jokes broke up his rhythm. and idk about letting people give you real amounts of money just to say one sentence live...anyone who would pay for that i assume is pretty lonely. maybe they just have money to burn but idk.
>>58502879Who cares if they want to pay for it then he's nice enough to say what they want on stream but yeah I would think it's fucking annoying to do and ruins the stream cuz some fag wants to tell an audience about how they caught a pikachu today in the shitty game. But it's money.
I like his edited videos, not of fan of streams in general. He seems like the only "poketuber" that has actually played other video games in his life.
bro how the fuck do you think it’s normal to type 10 pages’ worth of paragraphs about some streamer who was your classmate in collegeno other anon does essay posts
Maybe you lost all contact with him because you're weird and he didn't want to keep in touch? But yes I do watch him, his edited videos at least, funny guy. Knows pokemon sucks now, not afraid to say it.
>>58503032i mean you can make money selling drugs too (lots of it in fact) but i wouldnt do that because it harms people. i wouldnt work for a cigarette company either even though thats legal. in fact thats what i said one time in college when this guy asked me if i wanted to go to a caribbean island for a month in the summer with him and cook a batch of ecstasy. guy was probably bsing although his family did have money and he did know some drugs people for real...nevertheless i was like uhh no cause its bad and he was like "but we could make a million dollars" and i was like but....its bad and he got really pissed off at me. ofc i was also worried about you know going to prison for it or going out like literally every secondary character in breaking bad...the part where jesse gets locked in a dungeon to cook meth was what immediately sprang to mind. im a bit more like gail having studied chemistry in college which is why he asked i suppose...and gail died while jesse lived so yeah. in fact jesse killed gail. soo...wasnt a comfortable situation. i was just trying to buy some weed and he happened to be hanging out at this hot weed selling older chick's house, presumably boning her but idk. anyway uhm...yeah its not like taking money to say things is nearly as bad as cooking drugs or selling cigarettes, but endless video entertainment is a vice too really. its bad for people to sit inside having to pay for attention vs having actual friends and doing things with them. but i do know he wanted to work in radio originally, which is a lot less bad, cause the radio is nice while youre driving or working, its not like video where you cant really do anything else while you watch it. but im guessing that radio is a pretty rapidly shrinking business so i cant really blame him for trying to find another similar niche. only streaming 2 days a week is more responsible as well, both for his own health and sanity as well as that of anyone who wants to watch all his stuff.
>>58503045yeah i bet he didnt actually start out intending to focus on pokemon so much, its just that pokemon videos get like 10x more views as you can see on his channel. its surprising he still makes fire emblem videos considering they get so many fewer views, but i guess you dont want to be pigeonholed into just being a pokemon person or w/e.
>>58503090normal people in current year are basically disabled. cant type well, can write well, difficulty reading, not even that at ease talking, because they spend almost all their free time watching videos instead of utilizing these abilities and getting better at them. 50 years ago, anyone who was an office secretary could do this easily. "essays" are organized which is a lot more work -- this is literally just me talking. i can type at 100 wpm if you didnt see me say that above, which is well faster than most people can even talk.
>>58502278It's either this guy is very high on the spectrum or he is trolling with chat gpt. Regardless, no one cares about some D-List youtuber. No one gives a shit if he's entertaining. If he doesn't have anything noteworthy to say or add to the discourse, no one in this thread will give a fuck.
I love his videos. His sense of humor is perfect for my tastes and I have implemented Tropium into my daily vocabulary as a Florida resident. Also what the fuck is going on with all the text in here. I can't read all this lol
>>58503133i was way weirder in highschool honestly so i really dont think its that lolol. i basically disappeared off the internet myself after college too really. i mean, i was playing online vidya and posting on chans occasionally, as you can see i still do, but i stopped logging on to steam or skype. really i went offline on those things kind of to hide from another mutual friend of ours who while a pretty cool guy most of the time could also be kind of a jerk...he kept trying to start conversations with me and i wouldnt really have much to say and then he would get ticked off at me for ignoring him. i think he and this guy were still talking at the time (they may still be as far as i know) so i kinda just absented myself in order to be able to ignore that guy without making it obvious that i was. maybe this guy thinks im a dick for that, idk, it would kind of make sense, but i had reasons for being ticked, because the mutual friend said dickish things about my girlfriend a few times and also kind of scammed me out of 200 dollars though that was several years prior to this. not that i cared about the money much but he pretended he didnt do anything wrong at all which bothered me. then yeah idk he would just tell me these stories about how much weed he and his college friends were smoking and the pills they took and edward fortyhands and i was just like...okay...im sure it was fun to be there but like...whatever. well then he was all of a sudden like "i quit smoking weed i gotta do better in school" and i was like...well i coulda seen that coming i guess. whatevah. its in the past kinda. the mutual friend lives on the other side of the same city as me now and i guess if i ran into him i would talk to him but idk, i dont really like talking to people i know irl via dms or texting, like either we're hanging out irl or we're doing different things. thats how i see it anyway.
Uhhh, okay
>>58503314well apparently some people do like the guy below you. so maybe take the stick out of your ass. it must be a big one. sPeCtRuM lmao as far as chatgpt it can say a lot of nice things but it cant cook. no hands! look at my tasty pan. do you think im making an omelet? reasonable, but you would be wrong!
>>58503316tropium i assume is like "here's how tropius is actually viable" with a contrived sunny day team or something like that lol? you really should learn to read properly but you could give chatgpt the link and ask for a qrd or highlights if you really wanted. all the tools of understanding lie before you, if only you would pick them up!
>>58503373[gwonam voice] behold! [cdi king of highrule voice] DINNER [cdi link voice] gee! [hotel mario luigi voice] lotsa spaghetti!that piece of jalapeno on the left side is kind of ruining this picture but whatever im more about realness you know? i coulda moved it but why would i wanna lie?this is spaghetti naporitan by the way, a japanese version of italian spaghetti that they started making in japan in the postwar period when they had tons of american ration foods like ketchup and hot dogs and no idea what to do with them. (i used sausage instead of hot dogs. you can also use bacon, ham or anything really.) pretty easy recipe and tastier than youd imagine. >D0NNG
>>58503384Not even trying to be rude. Most people in this thread think you are on the spectrum or have some sort of mental illness.Like I said, nobody is going to care about some D-List youtuber that adds nothing to the conversation. Once again, I'm not being rude. Just blunt.
>>58503491theres five or six people saying theyve watched his streams and think hes funny though? youre just wrong. i suspect you didnt actually read the thread (even skipping my longer posts) or even mouse over the replies to the op post, or else you would know this.
"adds nothing to the conversation" like what the fuck does that even mean? the pokemon discourse? the super serious pokemon discourse? getta loada thissa guya dot-a jaypeg-aand a matter of fact, he was the #1 ranked player in the NU tier for some time around 2011-12 on whatever online battle sim people were using at that time. he made #1 pretty quickly with a strat he invented using belly drum extremespeed linoone as the centerpiece. so theres some addition to the discourse...cause how the fuck does a linoone drum its belly? thing is like a weasel, not really much belly there to drum. snorlax, charizard, those are bellies. but linoone?
>38k subscriberes is kind of a lot but idk how "big" that really is in the wider pokemon fan circle.38k is incredibly fucking small in this era of Poketubing. 38k would only be considered a decent following if you only did competitive pokemon vids back in 2010-2012 days.>>58503539You are intentionally being obtuse. No one cares if your friend is entertaining and even more so because he is a literal who youtuber. A topic solely about his personality is not going to engaging. Hell, theres a bunch of entertaining youtubers I like. But I ain't posting them here because no one gives a fuck.
>>58503868what youre saying is contrary to the plain fact that i did get answers to my question; several people here said that they knew of him or watched his videos. some said they liked him and some said he was a bit annoying lol but thats the kind of thing i was looking for. im aware 38k isnt very many but its hard to judge exactly WHO those 38k are -- if its 38k randoms or kids someone got by spamming low effort videos all day, then its not really much, BUT if its 38k and a lot of them are adults who are seriously interested in pokemon, then thats a very different thing -- those are people with money who might be able to invest if you wanted to make a game yourself, might come to meet you if you appeared at a con, etc etc. so the reason for the thread really was to try to get an idea who those 38k were -- people here are mostly adults or at least older teens who are serious pokemon fans, so since some people here know of him, thats good evidence that its not just a bunch of brazilian 7 yr olds making up his 39k subscribers. not putting down brazilians lol i just mean thats not people who could afford to support a kickstarter for a game if he decided to make one of his own or something. as an example, if he could demonstrate that making an appearance at a con had a good chance of getting more people to buy con tickets, because his fans are adults with money rather then random kids, then he might be able to convince con organizers to pay him to appear in panels and stuff.theres actually a lot of ppl like jenny nicholson who deffffinitely get paid by nintendo to advertise pokemon stuff and be positive about new games, so thats another possibility...but i think hes too ethical to take money to lie about his feelings lol.
yes...YESi just wanted to put in some date palms as background objects but i couldnt work out quite how to do that just from the code, i think the way chatgpt wrote it it just draws squares for background objects and isnt yet equipped to load sprites for objects. would take 2 seconds for chatgpt to add it in of course but i ran out of free queries for today lol. the first paid tier is only a few bucks a month so i may do that idk. i am reasonably familiar with python as i said but deeyamn this is faster. it took me a whole day of work to get to basically this point when i wrote a demo for basically this game years and years ago. (not even to here in terms of creature behaviors and the framework to add more but i put in more sprites and had basic movements in the tiny demo i made myself.) this on the other hand took about 5 or 6 requests to chatgpt so like 10 minutes of its time and a few minutes to add in some sprites. but anyway cause i couldnt add bg objects and im out of chatgpt requests for today i just added "datepalm" as if it were a pokemon so i could take a screenshot like this. but that got me thinking, a "dateless palm" pokemon thats like a lonely tree in the middle of the desert with a face like that one "oh" rage face from way back would be really funny. im gonna have a hard time not putting fakemons into this lmao, considering i could have chatgpt do the pixel art..........tempting....but no, i will stick to real pokemon sprites for now, and either learn to do pixel art myself (unlikely anytime soon) or meet someone who wants to do teh arts wif my game. lmk if you happen to be reading this...but im probably gonna progress pretty slowly on this as i usually do lol. hell you could do it yourself since anyone can talk to chatgpt lol...but i promise the ideas in my head are really goood! hennyway...fun stuff.

>>58505170i like fire emblem a lot too even though ive literally never finished any of the games. the closest i came was in the gamecube one but the level with respawning magic balls near the end was literally impossible....you have to pick a team of 13 for the final tower and i assumed i would get everyone back before the end but you dont. so the 13 i picked included some who had some final training to do instead of just the 13 best guys....and they couldnt beat the magic balls faster than they respawned, no matter what. i was stunned. and there was no way for me to go back cause i didnt save in different slots. i actually did the numbers with paper charts and a calculator to see if there was any way with insane crit or ability luck that i could beat the magic balls and there literally wasnt. fucking balls!

>>58505588he makes 700 on patreon and probably what 1000 a month from youtube at the very most? dont think its even that since he has like 8M views total and afaik you would be paid about 8000 for that in total from standard youtube rates. he has a day job also im pretty sure, but salaries in japan where he lives are pretty low so...i dont think he makes that much. but who knows!i however do know that i own an apparel business that has a contract with a major american mall brand. im not gonna say what i make, but would you like a ride? had to put a front plate on when i moved but shes still prettay.

I don't think this is cheese himself posting here. It's not a good look to make extremely long posts like these.Hey OP, maybe you should redirect your efforts into playing actually good Pokemon games like the Mystery Dungeon series.

>>58505755>>58505835>>58507185i used to hang out with him a lot in highschool and i was over at his house pretty often hanging out on my laptop or playing ds games while he would be playing dota2 or final fantasy/fire emblem on consolewe also went into the big city near us a few times to go to things, as well as buying random stuff at the target near us after school, and once i could drive we went to some malls a bit further away from us a few times to walk around gamestop and games workshop and buy clothes at uniqlo which was new in america then & one of the few places with clothes that fit us well cause we are both short lolyounger folks probably dont know about games workshop but it was a cool place, tabletop gaming stuff mostly, so they had tons and tons of minis for games like warhammer and stuff, and there would be people in there hanging out and playing enormous games of warhammer or w/e with hundreds of minis.i dont wanna be mean but i feel like you guys legit dont know what its like to have even one friend in highschool. we were in basically all the same classes cause my school was small and there was only 1 or 2 ap classes for most things

>>58507856>It's not a good look to make extremely long posts like these.why? are you embarrassed for me? are you getting secondhand cringe? am i not being normal? well sonny let me tell you, nobody normal ever got any damn where. theres nothing in the 4chan rules that says you cant post as much as you like. you dont even have to be talking to anybody. im just replying to people. mostly. i COULD just be using a thread as my personal notebook even if no one else cared. completely allowed on 4chan! it really bothers me when people try to do this weird kind of "youre werd" sort of "cringe shaming" thing...it bothers me in real life but on fucking 4chan? are you fucking kidding? if you ever come to this place youre weird, if you post even once then most people will think youre reaaallly weird just for being here. so dont try to pull this crap here. many people in fact would LIKE to post more, but because of people like you, theyre afraid of "being weird" or getting called various names like autist or schizo. but when im just here doing whatever i want, theyre like, well, i guess if that guy can do that, then i dont have to worry about posting long things, because im really not weird compared to THAT guy. and so, what i notice is that, when i do things like this, other people feel more free to make long posts and talk about random things. in politics this is called the "overton window" more or less -- what happens is that by doing whatever tf i want, i push the boundaries so that "medium weird" behavior seems normal in comparison. i do this partially on purpose, when people start to say things like what youve said, but really i just do not care about what you think at fucking all. at least not in that way.also i think you meant gale of darkness XDnuzlockeing that is fucking HARDdouble ludicolos will just end your fucking balls

>>58508752>OP claims youtuber was his friend>Never kept contact with him after college>Refuses to chat with "friend" even after finding his youtube channelThat doesn't sound like a friend.
>>58509120it feels really weird to explain the concept of friends to people who seem to be adults or close to it. but like, being friends doesnt mean youre 100% talking to each other all the time forever. back in the olden days, you know, before smartphones, you couldnt talk to people all the time...you would see each other at school & then youd have to hang out together if you wanted to keep talking. thats how things were when i was in elementary school, because back then there were no smartphones, kids didnt have cellphones or computers until middle school generally. so with my elementary school friends there was basically school, going over peoples houses, or thats it really. you could call people on the regular telephone ofc but there was only 1 per house so you couldnt take it up for very long. then in middle school it was flipphones + computers with instant messaging, and you could text on a flipphone but it was very slow so people would mostly use that for like short info like "im at ur house let me in" or w/e. and obviously you had to be sitting at the computer to do IMs via AIM, and while i had a laptop at that point most people still didnt, they might just have a desktop in their room or there might be 1 or 2 computers in their whole house. i started being friends with this guy at the end of middle school when he moved to my town, so we would talk on AIM a fair amount but like, back then a fair amount meant like a few hours a few times a week, if that much. people later moved on to using skype for IMing as well as steam chat, but this was all on computers only. i still had an old style cellphone until a few years into college so i just never really got used to the idea that people could text you anytime anywhere and expect you to respond. for me its still like, if im at the computer and not busy, ok ill talk, but you cant really expect a response all the time because i might be busy playing a game or working or i might just be out. (1/2)
>>58509120i find it really hard to deal with younger people because they expect you to be always ready to respond to things from your phone, and if you dont reply for like one day they freak out on you thinking you hate them or youre ghosting them or w/e. like maybe i dont want to talk but maybe ive just been playing vidya and not looking at my messages, or maybe im just tired. and like, for me, talking online or by text is really still just for in between when youre actually hanging out together. like ofc you can play some games online and talk about stuff and send each other music and w/e but if youre in different places and on different schedules then its hard to coordinate playing a game together and i mean you have other friends at college and stuff who you CAN hang out with in real life. my perspective is basically, its more important to be really there or "really present" with the people you know in real life, rather than dividing your attention between real life and online people and not really being fully present with either of them. so i had friends at my college, he had friends at his college, we were like 700 miles apart at that point and busy with classes and stuff. we still talked occasionally but mostly like if we had big news of some kind like a new game to tell them about or we started dating someone. and as i said, around that time i started living with my gf who i met at college, so we were mostly hanging out or sleeping or ya knoww doin tha business, he also had a girlfriend at college and was really busy with college plays and stuff. and then as i said he moved to japan after college so we were like 5000 miles apart and on opposite day/night cycles cause of the time difference. feels weird to explain things in this much detail when like, this is really utterly normal. you dont necessarily talk to friends all the time forever, you can fall in and out of touch and it doesnt mean youre not friends. (2/2)
Pokèmon?
>>58509120of course, he could think im a total jerk now, i really wouldnt know. but im not "refusing" to talk to him just because im not doing it. im just not gonna distract him from his busy schedule for random talking sessions when we're 5000 miles apart. like hes probably got friends in japan, maybe a gf idk, i have things to do and people to talk to here. now if we were gonna work together on something, that might be an entirely different question. but even so, not everyone wants to know that people who know them irl know about their youtube channel. maybe it would stress them out to think about people they know finding it and watching. maybe they would worry about people sharing embarrassing deets or stories from way back when. not that there are really any with him lol, aside from crushing hard on girls. theres definitely more embarrassing things about me that he knows really kek....what i would much rather do is become someone slightly known in the same circles without revealing who i am, and then end up collaborating on a game or some video thing, and then eventually he would figure it out. that would be way the fuck funnier and then we would actually be doing something together so there would be a reason to talk. i have things all planned out...only it would ruin it all if he saw this thread. so dont tell!
