Had to rush to get to Kalos because they cut the generation down after Sinnoh was a 4 year development. The real sins stem from how they ended Sinnoh, and anything BW did couldn't redeem itself with Ash as the protagonist. Especially after the earthquake

I really hated how Iris was done.

She is supposed to be a dragon trainer - but is instead introduced with Excadrill as her strongest pokemon, with her Axew just being a cute mon that does almost nothing for the duration of the BW anime.
So they end up handing Iris a super-strong Dragonite on a silver platter. And it wins a ton of fights even when its disobeying her because its just retard strong without any training. Even beats Dawn's Mamoswine.

Just watch original series, advanced and the dp. I think you'll enjoy them all though I personally foumd advanced boring (May's arc carried it for me). After that if youre still interested might as well give BW a try before going to XY

Having seen all movies up to movie 15, Movie 3 (Entei) is probably the undisputed best.

Best season is harder for me to pin down. The original series was the zaniest and most fun but inconsistent, most of Advance, DP, and XY were fine.
So I'd really just note that Johto felt weaker for having too much samey feeling filler, BW is bad for Ash being a drooling retard and having to ditch its overarching plot, and I just didn't get into SM and dropped the anime there.

You could have maybe done something interesting with him winning against Ash the second he got his first Pokemon and thinking he's hot shit when he's not but instead Ash just kept losing to him every time they met and it's completely embarrassing. People single out the league but the whole season is just humiliating Ash, even Dawn treats him like shit during the arc she cameos.

Everything since the BW reset was a humiliation ritual for Ash.
Even when he finally won it felt like he lost because all his wins all felt cheap and unearned and like damage control. Too little, too late.
Ironically enough, in hindsight, Tobias of all things, ended up being something that made Ash look good even if it cucked him out of the League.
It's incredible how all of this happened because Yuyama was a raging mindbroken autist that no one had the balls to tell "fuck off". The man was so fucking obsessed he actually wanted to make Ash lose the Alola League too. Can you imagine the reaction had that happened? If he'd even lost THAT? I almost want to live in that timeline because the mockery would have been out of this world and the people of that timeline also probably are the lucky ones who didn't have to suffer through Shitneys since it likely didn't exist on it.
