I want my fucking $10 back! I made a thread here a while back asking whether or not I should get the NS1 or NS2 version of the game. And I was complaining about how all the comparisons were just between the NS1 version on the NS1 hardware versus the NS2 version on the NS2 hardware. And the complete fucking lack of comparisons between the NS1 version and the NS2 version both running on NS2 hardware. But you cunts kept saying in the thread how it improves the draw distance, animations and pop-in and shit. But now that I've actually bought the $10 NS2 upgrade pack, and replayed the start of the game for comparison and captured videos of both with or without the upgrade pack. I can tell you, that the loading screens are the fucking SAME with or without the fucking upgrade pack! And the pop-in isn't any better either. And the animations are the fucking same, with distant NPCs and Pokemon stuttering real noticeably until you get closer. And the distance to where said animations are fixed is the fucking same with or without the upgrade pack. It really, really is 10 fucking dollars, just for +30 fps. And nothing fucking else. You cunts lied to me. All the NS2 version benefits that you cited, were as I suspected, thanks to the NS2 hardware and not the NS2 upgrade pack. Sure maybe the game sucks to play on the NS1, but the NS2 upgrade pack is a complete fucking waste of money. All you need is the NS2 hardware. Fuck you cunts, you made me waste $10. Also fuck all the media channels for not doing any comparison videos between the NS1 and NS2 versions on the NS2.
I saw this post on r*ddit too
>>58501183I don't think you did. Or if you did that'd be quite the coincidence. I've never used that shithole in my life.
I wish I could fucking refund the upgrade pack.
>>58501166Hey don't blame me, I'm the anon who said the differences aren't that crazy and that you'd be fine with the Switch 1 version, remember.Regardless you're kinda stuck if you bought it digitally since Nintendo doesn't do digital refunds unconditionally iirc. Still worth contacting support and maybe just lie and say you bought it by mistake or something
I would have used the upgrade pack money to buy the new katamari game or something. Stray Children is also releasing in not even a week. Age of Imprisonment is really soon too. And after that is Air Riders. Really could have needed those $10 considering how stacked the immediate future is with games.
Why does the upgrade even costs money? Most of them are free and the ones that aren't have been coupled with actual content additions. But this upgrade pack has no such additions, and yet they charge money for it.
>>58502055Gamefreak probably convinced them it would be equivalent to Metroid Prime 4's, which also doesn't include new content, but the enhanced performance is obviously way more substantial there
>>58502142It also adds mouse support and shit. Which isn't exactly game content or something that should be charged for. But it's more than the super, super bare bones upgrade of ZA's pack.
>>58502055Nintendo's never been clear on that.>coupled with actual content additionsYeah but not by much. The Kirby DLC is nowhere near worth €20 for a handful of new levels.
>>58501166>It really, really is 10 fucking dollars, just for +30 fps. And nothing fucking else. You cunts lied to me.worth it
>>58502175It's a change that you'll notice for like 30 minutes or something and then you get used to it and forget all about it.
It's a shame the store page doesn't have comparisons or something to actually show you what you're buying.
>>58502654Wrong. The game is pretty fluid with the patch
>>58504066Most things, provided the framerates are stable enough, are fluid after you get used to it. Your brain is built to fill in the gaps. It's why flipnote animations even work.
>>58501166For me 30+ fps are important. That's why I bought the Switch 2 version (got the Switch 2 for another reason tho)
>>58504285Playing at 30 fps gives me headaches. It's a must
I got the pc version, 4k 60fps
>>58504314Really? I only get headaches when I've got fevers. So it's like, eye-strain related or something? I don't really feel like my eyes strain from low framerates though. Do you feel it in the eyes before the headache though?
>>58502055The switch 2 version is more expensive than the Switch 1 version, so if the update was free, what's to stop people getting the cheaper switch 1 version and then just updating for free. That's why.
>>58504662Maybe it doesn't deserve to be more expensive if it makes no fucking difference. As stated. You don't really lose out on anything by getting the NS1 version.
The box art being terribke on switch 2 and perfect on switch 1 really, really bothers me
>>58501166Post your comparison videos OP.
>>58504314Do you get headaches watching cartoons? Most of them are animated at 25-30fps, or even less.
>>58506495Most movies are 24fps
>>58506509I don't think that's true.
>>58501166I will say the upgrade should be free, I'm guessing the only reason it's paid is because they wanted to do a physical release with the switch 2 patch on cart and they had to use the more expensive switch 2 carts to do that
>>58506510>I don't think that's true. For the vast majority of them, it is.
>>58506495TV and movies have motion blur and can display more in a single frame. There's also no interactive elements to movies, you're just watching what is happening. Games often don't have motion blur (and when they do it's usually bad), thus each frame is static, and games have an interactive element to them that movies and TV don't have. When you do an action, you expect near instant effect from that action to happen on the screen. There's usually more delay from you action with lower framerate, which is what often gives people headaches.
>>58501166stop stuffing your boogers and pubes in your switch’s vent and maybe you’ll see the difference
>>58501166Honestly everyone who bought Switch2 and paid $10 extra per game is being cheated flat out regardless of listening to anyone's opinion.Let's say there's 20 Switch games you already own that are getting upgrades. $200 down the drain. Not even a $10 flat fee for upgrading all Switch1 games you own but PER game.$200 you could've spent on easily 3 or 4 new games (before getting into sales or anything like that).
>>58507579>There's usually more delay from you action with lower framerate, which is what often gives people headaches.Delayed inputs suck. But why would it cause headaches? Also. The difference between 30fps and 60fps is just one frame, for half your actions.
