They should have stopped after 493, and made regional forms, mega's and new varients of the existing Pokemon. I would rather a Fire/Ghost Gengar than some trashy new gen design

XY did one thing right and that was adding a very small amount new pokemon.
There can never be "too many" Pokémon. They should be expected to keep adding over 100 Pokémon each gen, while still having every previous gen Pokémon be transferable, while still having the games be good on top of that. It's objective fact that they can do that. There's no excuse. It should be the minimum expected of them.
