If you're using a ranged attacker, you can't just order an attack from anywhere, otherwise that dial up attack order will take 2-3 seconds to actually come out. you can move while your pokemon is attacking, so you can either run away and switch to avoid a counter-attack, or move closer to keep your Pokémon on top of the enemy.

I was fighting the big prawn, was falling back to get some distance, one stunfisk used earthquake which was safe but then another one was completely hidden in the grass and they used two AOE earthquakes at once.
