>>58525982Most of the time it's fine because the games are easy enough to use anything. Onyx is reasonable in Gen 1 despite being a joke, and Gen 2 Pokemon despite being underpowered are mostly fine in their game. Occasionally they just design a Pokemon wrong though, like Flareon for years even after the physical/special split. It doesn't help that Pokemon can seem more like shitmon in the modern games where the encounter tables are so bloated with newer/higher power Pokemon that some of them seem worse. Like, the shitty elemental monkeys aren't great in BW even with the more limited Pokemon pool, but in XY they're worse than the regional bird and fucking Azurill, and only compare well to the garbage bug types on their encounter table which nobody is going to use long term anyway.

If GF wanted to buff shitters just giving old mons a buff to bst is completely fine and easy since they dont need to design or recon a ton of shit.
