Also not in image because tiermaker assumes that if you upload an image, the last batch should be removed:
>BDSP Battle Tower
A tier
>HGSS Trainer House
B tier
>Eternal Battle Reverie
F tier/not a battle facility

Maison is probably my favorite of the bunch, just liked the aesthetic and it was the only one to have triples/rotation battles.
>>
>>58526241
I learned to appreciate the Maison when it was apparent that in ORAS they were not bringing back the Battle Frontier in any capacity. I gave it a C tier because in my mind a C-tier is earned by being something that right down the middle and should be the baseline for postgame, which is also why I assume they just put it into ORAS. Definitely more than serviceable and something that is remarkable to have, and having those two extra formats in addition to the standard revisions that made the Battle Subway good (namely, the 'Super' challenges that put you right into good battles) definitely can make it a favorite among some.

Sun Moon Battle Royale was cool, trainers were strong and used mega and z-moves
>>

Its only fault was that it was short (needing only 4 battles to "complete" the mode) but it certainly was built in the same sort of mindset that they gave the SwSh Battle Tower, it felt like an on-ramp for online play since you could also play it online/in multiplayer. B-tier on my list effectively means it's something that should be checked out in a playthrough and you are getting less out of the experience if you do not.

do they even exist post-bdsp

The only ones I cared for are the Sinnoh BF, Dynamax Adventures, Battle Tree and Restricted Sparring. Maison was fun for a bit too. Might go back and do all of these at some point.
>>
>>58526299
They do not. There have been good challenges in the games since then (doing the rematch coach battles in SV so long as you cap your level, the 7-star raids, and the Eternal Battle Reverie namely). I personally am hoping that since ILCA is working on Champions and that they did such a good job with that aspect of BDSP, they'll put some Battle Facilities of some kind in Champions.

They sure won't after Champions lmao

Battle Factory is such a genuinely fun facility that it should be in every game
hell make it a properly fleshed-out roguelite and it could be a standalone game
>>
>>58526320
The scouting and Pokemon choices make it one of the most unique and best facilities in the entire series, the only flaw with it is that all Pokemon have 0 IVs here but that just means it's easily approachable to literally everyone. Anyone playing the Battle Frontier in Emerald should start here to learn the sets you will go against alongside getting some starting BP.
>>58526342
I actually do not like them personally because I like to use my own Pokemon but they are objectively some of the best. I also recognize that SwSh's raid system in conjunction with rentals like in Endless Dynamax Adventures make it genuinely the best facility in the entire series and it is a shame that there was never a large community built up around them to try and get ridiculously long win streaks.

huh?

PWT is there in A-tier.

Nah

hgss/plat factory is the best by far imo. put endless hours into that thing
>>
>>58526507
It's the most controversial thing on my list but I can fully defend Endless Dynamax Adventures as objectively top tier
>recontextualizes gen 8 raids by making it streak based where dropping a Pokemon matters
>recontextualizes the use of dynamax as the move sets ensure that it isn't beneficial to always dynamax turn one, usually better to dynamax the Pokemon that has the best counter to the opponent/legendary boss
>fully realized the co-op facility, which can still be played online today and is at the very least top tier in this alone
>level cap making it so that all of your battles will always have some degree of fair challenge and your end of round legendary bosses are reasonably difficult
>randomization of the Pokemon you catch based on stats, not on movesets which makes it so that you can realistically come up with very good sets that have good synergy
>very meta Pokemon available, ex: Ditto so you never have to worry about power point conservation, Pokemon that have Life Dew or any other ally helping move
>deep strategy involving ensuring you end battles optimally so the correct Pokemon can dynamax next turn, picking correct paths for any given round (you can't just get by with picking the easiest type matchup as you might be losing an item chance or a better matchup against the legendary at the end of the round), PP conservation
>you don't have to raise a single Pokemon to participate in it
>>
>>58526207
Shouldn’t stadium 1&2 count since their also post game challenges?
>>
>>58526650
I personally didn't really try it out that much since even the swsh dlc locations werent really that fun to me so I dropped them pretty quick but hearing all this, I should prob go back and give Dynamax Raids a try and see if it really does live up to the praise
>>
>>58526656
I didn't put them in here on account of them being not a part of the mainline games, not to mention do I sort them based off of modes or difficulties?
R1 and R2 are completely different beasts and a lot of the difference in those games has to deal with rulesets (like Nintendo Cup, Prime Cup, Petite Cup, etc).
And then if I go gen3+, then I have to have differences like "Battle Mode Mt. Battle" which is like a C tier and then "Scenario Mode Mt. Battle (Colosseum)" which is a training facility, and then also every single PBR colosseum.
>>
If the Pyramid isn't at the very top, it's not a serious answer.
>>
>>58526675
Keep in mind that this is for Endless Dynamax Adventures, not the standard ones that end after one round that allow you to keep one Pokemon you catch. Endless was set up so that you could farm the Dynite Ore more effectively, but it keeps track of your best streak and it being endless makes the a lot of the things I mentioned as opposed to the one round only version. You start off with four hearts in the mode so it means that you can have up to three Pokemon faint in one round in the standard mode and still complete one round, but in endless after you defeat the legendary the game keeps going and you get +1 to a life counter, so it means that you have exactly two more Pokemon fainting in the next round until you game over.

Explain to me how the Battle Maison isn't just a straight upgrade from the Battle Tower. The tree sucks though for the same reasons as Crystal's Battle Tower. They're way too difficult right off the bat.
>>
>>58526207
Dynamax Adventures was so fun with friends

>>
>>58526207
Battle Tree is the only one I actually did so that’s my favorite
>>

Absolutely
The higher rated Battle Towers have features that expanded/iterated on the Battle Tower formula.
With Hoenn's Battle Tower already having the record mixing functionality of its first iteration in R/S, this one had expanded sets that were not locked to the Hoenn Dex, allowed you to customize an apprentice player which could also be shared with record mixing, first allowed multis and even offline multis teams could be shared with record mixing, and had the final iteration of the easy chat system before global connectivity gutted it. This Battle Tower felt to be the most alive compared to others.
The DPPtHGSS tower introduced something really important to the series- the WiFi Tower. This allows you to go against people all over the world and makes this a unique blend of singleplayer/multiplayer.
BDSP's Tower has something similar where this is now replaced with the Master Class rooms. In addition to this, the teams you go against are not randomized and were crafted carefully, with synergy often times in mind.
Finally, the Battle Subway. It is a derivative clone of gen 4's Battle Tower in every way with the exception of the super rules being introduced. They didn't bother with triple battles or rotation battles, but they still have the WiFi train available to use.
Battle Maison lands at C tier which is my tier where I put things that are appreciated/are a good baseline because they correct the mistake of not having those formats and are generally good to play- but on a platform that could do what Hoenn's Battle Tower could do via StreetPass/SpotPass but it doesn't and by also having offline multis teams being based off of friend codes, it didn't feel iterative but instead added with new Pokémon and the forgotten previous modes and just as a requirement that fills a box.
>>
The subway for me goes in S tier. It's actually viable to grind there in BW2 for better items and TMs, I somehow just never realized I could do so
>>
>>58526809
Also in addition to this keep in mind that I am critical of other Battle Towers. RS Tower being restricted to Hoenn Dex and SwSh Tower effectively being an on-ramp to online play which will end at some point make them lower on this rating. So in some aspects, it is a direct upgrade to the Battle Tower, it just depends on which one you are talking about.
Really the only thing this changes for me is making me want to put the Battle Subway lower than it is right now to C-tier.
>>
>>58526675
NTA but dynamax adventures is the single best part of gen 8 period. It's like the factory crossed with a little resource and pathing minigame, almost like the pike if you squint
>>
I just put every Battle Tower clone in the second lowest tier, the only thing being worse is the Palace for being unbearably shit.
>>
>>58526698
When I was making this, Battle Pyramid almost went into S tier but I can find one immediate improvement to it:
If you are giving us a separate bag, it would have been cool/a great idea if this facility gave us a separate wallet as well for item purchasing/selling. There is a bit of an asymmetric aspect of this facility, and that is the fact that after a certain number of rounds in it, you cannot reliably farm Pickup items because that Pokemon you bring with the ability would otherwise be deadweight. As a result, I would have liked to see shopkeepers with limited inventories here that also scaled in prices/occurrences with rounds you go through. These of course would also be randomized, or maybe they could be a small percentage of the trainers you fight as well. That way the item getting process isn't just frontloaded at the start, and what's more is that you'd also be able to sell some of the items you receive that are duplicates.
A-tier signifies a "must-play" facility if you have the game that they are in. S-tier is for exemplary gameplay that should/does define the aspects of certain facilities going forward.

Scarlet and Violet bros.......

SV at least had the 7-star Tera raids, which were nice because they offered direct in-game rewards and a cool Pokemon with a mark if you completed it.
The seven star raids fit my definition of a battle facility
-is a battle
-limited/vetted item usage that restricts you from your bag in some capacity
-level capped (by virtue of being at level 100; you can only ever match this or be lower than this cap)
-cannot gain EXP directly from knockouts/wins
-can have their own metas develop on account of the task or central
challenge/rules at hand
-opponent is CPU controlled or has an option to be CPU controlled
but I think it's step too far and as they are not immediately challengable and are events, I'm a bit split on it.
