ZA at least tries to shake up the gameplay. But it's like Xenoblade... which came out nearly 2 decades ago. I think things like monster hunter replaced their niche a long time ago, but just lacked the capture mechanic or the proper overworld and story. Digimon might give it a crack, it sure looks nice but it kinda lacks a bit of gameplay. I think turn based gaming is done without introducing crazy roguelike mechanics.
