So it expands on the musical motif, reinforcing the Clef in Clefable.

I'm pretty sure I could suck it's juices out through it's hat. It's design being focused on something else doesn't mean it doesn't look like a baby bottle.

English names are fanfiction
in Japanese it’s just called “Pixy” and has nothing to do with music
the Mega gives it bigger wings (because it’s a fairy) and a beret (because it’s in France), it’s no deeper than that
>>
>>58548128
to be fair gamefreak has been referencing western adaptations of moves abilities etc more and more as the years go by, what with them treating pokemon as a global franchise more over time.
>>
>>58548128
Anon items and pokemon having different names is 100% canon, japanese XY literally has a woman talking about her pokeball (not monsterball) because she speaks english (in non-japanese games she speaks japanese) and the different language function of the Pokedex is a thing in canon, too.
Pixy is CANONICALLY called Clefable in Unova, Galar and Paldea, is canonically called Melodelfe in Kalos, etc etc
>>
>>58548167
not that anon but I don't think that's fair to extrapolate. We're still not sure if the different regions genuinely match up linguistically to their irl counterparts.
>>
>>58548188
That's as retarded as those in denial over the Pokémon world geography royghly matching ours, honeslty
Either way even if the languages didn't match the regions exactly we know different languages are canon even in the dex so Clefable is a 100% canon name people use for the Pokemon in OP
>>
>>58548128
You're either low functioning autistic or currently learning Japanese. Either way you're fucking annoying.
>>
>>58548188
theres French flavortext in Lumiose, Spanish in Paldea, british-isms in Galar, and hawaiian sounding shit in Alola but no no yeah so true you're right theres just no way to know for sure. retarded fucking dumbass

according to npcs in paldea unovans speak the same language as them. Not to mention paldea is both portugal and spain, which is way more than even just the two languages. And what about the protag in alola moving from kanto? I guess he could have learned english before, but what about lillie dropping everything and moving TO kanto? She just gonna learn japanese on the way? Only a couple random NPCs have ever seemed confused by language, and tons of them can speak the languages of any given region fine. Is everyone story relevant just coincidentally a polyglot? Oh and not to mention that they have a completely different script that's the same no matter if you're in poke-japan or elsewhere, unlike IRL.

or maybe gamefreak haven't made up their minds about how they want to handle language. Could be just like earth. Could be a global language. Could be something else. That's the truth: we don't know, it's a stretch to claim anything strongly like that...

If the design looks like shit that means the substance is superficial, you can't have it both ways clown
>>
>>58549381
The only time I can think of another language being directly referenced is, ironically, somewhere in east Kalos. One of the route gates in the English translation has a German NPC in it.
Every other case I can think of, and in any other media I'm aware of, it's implied that there are regional dialects with words, but there's not really a definitive "there's different languages."
>>
>>58550951
there's someone who speaks japanese (in an english copy) in z-a according to someone on here

basically making a scene in public out of frustration. Surprised you haven't heard it yet.

people complain about overdesign and for once you get something simple (bigger wings and a cute hat) and somehow this is the end of your life. Do you really know what you want?

It took you this long to realise it was an acorn reference? Japs are kind of obsessed with them.
