Playing ZA makes me miss the hisuian pokeballs. Every time I run into a pokemon that runs away almost immediately I think "damn I wish I had a jet to throw at the back of froakie's head"
catching in general is just really neutered in ZA>range is lowered significantly to where you pretty much can't throw a ball at something if you aren't locked onto it>using bait and smokebombs to get closer to pokemon is gone and smokescreen, the one move that functions even remotely similar, requires you to be locked on and close enough to where it's functionally useless for its intended purpose since by that point you can just throw a ball at their back anyways>pokeballs are homogenized back to their main series equivalents where there's no real variety in the act of actually throwing themI get that battling was the point but surely they could have added a little more variety

If you want a skarmory you have to go to wild zone 17 that's the only place they spawn to my knowledge and there's only one and it also has a horrible catch rate so if you fail at catching it all hell breaks loose and everything in that area becomes aggressive. If you want froakie you have to go to the one area it spawns in but that area is littered with falinks that patrol that area and there are no places to hide and even if you do you're too far from froakie and if you get too close it flees immediately.
