Since Wind/Wave will be in SEA, what would be good animals to base the starters on to fit with the tropical feel?

How does a gorilla fit into rainy, temperate England? How does a jungle snake fit into urban America? How does a crocodile fit into Mediterranean Europe? For some reasons fans are much more autistic about theming Pokemon with the region than Gamefreak ever has been.
