I don't think it's Mega is getting Contrary.I think it got Contrary primarily for flavor reasons same as Suction Cups. If Contrary was meant to be it's primary draw they would have given it more moves that drop its own stats than just Superpower which isn't even STAB. The ability they planned it to use was Infiltrator for Topsy-turvy, Hypnosis, Switcheroo, Simple Beam, Power Split, and Swagger/Flatter, even past substitutes. The mon was custom made to hard stop baton passers and setup sweepers that aren't bug.So I think the answer has been staring us in the face from that marketing.You know how Toxic Chain is just Poison Touch but stronger?I think it's getting something like Cute Charm but stronger.Infatuation that ignores gender restriction, maybe even forces a confusion-damage-esque generic attack against allies on the immobilize turn in doubles since there's so much talk of doing it's bidding.
