I’m in line to pick my kids up from school and had a random thought:Using 3 pokemon in online royale that specifically just self destructI’m curious, what are the possible drawbacks, benefits, etc of this strategy? Does anyone know if I self destruct do I lose a point? Does another trainer gain a point?Which pokemon would be best suited for this? How would I go about maxing attack stat to maximize damage?

Give it a held item that increases damage.Come on man, you can do this yourself.
You don't lose a point when you use Self-Destruct or Explosion. But, I'm pretty certain that a point gets awarded to the last player that damaged your pokemon. The move takes a few seconds to charge up, and other players can see the name of the move above your pokemon while it's charging - In that time, they can knock out your pokemon (stopping the self-destruct from going off), or they can run out of its range if they react quick enough. They can also just switch into a type that resists it (there's a lot of Skarmory), or time a switch/mega evolution to dodge it.I don't think using JUST Self-Destruct is a good strategy: If you kill one player with it, then you're just trading one-for-one, and while you're waiting to respawn, the other two players have time to run around and collect mega energy/items.The only Explosion user I've seen being used is Mega Metagross. I guess the best team for it would something like Mega Starmie, Mega Steelix, and Metagross with Life Orb/Normal Gem.I had Explosion on my Garbodor for a while, and I liked it in the scenario where I had used all of my switches and could try and explode on something, hopefully getting a kill and also getting my switches back. It's a fun move to throw out in the last 10 seconds of a match. But, I feel that the dream scenario where you kill all three other players at once with Self-Destruct could just as easily be achieved with a well-timed Earthquake or something.
