By accident
The 'tism.
It’s not so much as a glitch as it was discovered you can trade the egg to a file with a SID that matches the PID of the egg to make it shiny
>>58562477And how was that discovered?
>>58562533i discovered it by simply making it happenno i refuse to elaborate any further
>>58562533I assume pkhex as you could just match the numbers and see what happened
>manaphy egg can't be shiny>hmm I want it to be shiny>try to figure out how to make it so it can be shiny>there actually an oversight that allows it to be shinydone
>>58562533that was a thing since gen 3
>>58562268>only 1 egg per cartridge>not per save, per cart. you either have to erase your save data entirely using an external tool or buy a new cart that hasn't had its egg transferredWhat the fuck were they thinking?
>>58563902buying cartridges wasn't as cancer as it is now, with the inflated prices
>>58562533It’s simple logic. The game is only hardcoded to make the pid not match your own tid. The mon’s pid is determined when the egg is created, while the mon’s tid is set when the egg hatches, set to the tid of the trainer that hatched it. Since the game obviously can’t predict you will trade the game let alone to who, it doesn’t prevent the pid from matching the tid of the game you’re trading it to, meaning a traded egg can become shiny upon hatching if the tid the manaphy is set to matches its pid.
>>58562268What do you mean, "we"? You didn't do shit
