After suffering playing mega gyarados, the main flaw is that its a finsher that doesnt one shot anything. And not one shotting for 4 energy is BAAAAAD. It requires so much energy that you dont have energy to spare for a anchor. Blaziken has heatmor, you dont got shit.

Actually, you have to worry about Sophocles, Kiawe, Lusamine, anything that's made cheesy by Will, Marlon, Fantina, and Hala. When you take out a majority of the upper tier decks, a lot of the worse trainers get usable. I almost added Brock, Volkner, and Gladion to this list but I caught myself.
