Early pokemon anime had actual guns in it so I wouldn't doubt the original idea was that maybe humans do in fact need some form of self defence that isn't just personal pokemon to defend themselves from wild mons. I don't think weapons are completely absent from the Pokémon world, but they definitely wouldn't be like the ones we know today — you have to take into account all the different Pokémon types and their abilities. We can agree a weapon that harms a Blastoise might be totally useless against a Gengar, for example; ghost types would be a real headache since they're mostly intangible. Work usually saps my motivation for games as well, but the chance of shinies when you're done is a pretty good motivator. Granted today was hell and despite doing that all day I didn't get a single new one from zone 5. Guess I can't complain when the binacle pit got me like six shinies in a few hours yesterday though. If all else fails, the stair reset in wild zone 3 is almost guaranteed to give you a shiny if you let it run for an hour or so. Just can't fully AFK for that one since the alphas will kill you if the day/night cycle changes. Either way, wishing you luck both with shinies and at work

Then when it rains, just go in and out of the entrance constantly. There's two Goomy spawn points really close to the entrance, one on the grass and another on the pier.

As today is remarkably slow, I've taken the opportunity to dig through some of the less substantiated reports that were filtering in some time ago. If Quasartico did actually tamper with the water it may be the key to powering back up. One of the most memorable hunts for me in S/V was looking for a XXXS Iron Valiant by standing against them for scale to try and filter them. Okay so had to take a pic with an Aurorus after seeing Aurorus pics earlier. Here's me and my big alpha. I actually love Aurorus, my favorite fossil Pokemon. Admittedly prefer the normal coloration vs the shiny, but still very pretty. This Pokemon is pretty in general really. Also mostly male which is great
