Calling any Gen 4 experts. Is anyone aware what the fastest exp grind is? In my experience, if you have to use the exp share because yours mons are weak, the gyarados / luxray trainers West of Sunyshore are the fastest
If you can defeat them yourself while wearing a lucky egg, an Eeveelution trainer South of Veilstone gives 4500 exp a fight
Basically these both work until like level 50 - So I'm curious 60-80 or 60-100 does anyone know the fastest farm?

I think there’s a double battle that’s faster in the postgame. They use Salamence and Claydol and it’s right outside of the mansion area IIRC, and you can keep fighting them with the VS seeker. That + Lucky Egg + Trade bonus. Or clone Rare Candies in Emerald and send them up, or learn ACE and how to get infinite items with that

Outside the mansion as in the Resort Area?

Interesting I'll see if most mons can one shot these with a strong stab move or if they're too hard to take on alone
More EXP but not one shotting each mon would suck
Thanks!

If anyone has some other tips feel free to share

I was talking about these trainers here on route 229, but bulbapedia doesn't display the VS Seeker next to them. Weird, I remember rematching them.

losing my mind unable to find ariana lol

Ah Ariana is DP only not Platinum lol

>>58658247
Not exactly what you're asking for but when I ev trained min/max atk and spe I used Zac & Jen on 210. Double battle Gyarados and Raichu, both get one shot, decent xp and money in the process.
>>
>>58658799
This might be good actually, just put a lucky egg and protect on the mon you wanna train, one shot raichu one turn, one shot gyara the next
>>
>>58658762
Try rematching the Ace trainers on Route 229 >>58658605
>>
>>58658940
from my memory they give slightly less exp than gyarados guy west of sunyshore
>>
>>58658821
I think the EV items are better for it, the ones that give bonus gains.
>>
>>58658953
oh this is purely for exp, trying to get ambipoms to lv 81 to farm pp ups
>>
>>58658978
>to farm pp ups
do you know how to rng manipulate? you can easily get these through lottery tickets matching your id
>>
>>58658978
If that's the case, it's probably better to go somewhere with more exp drops. And it's worth keeping four extra pickup Pokémon above lvl 21 for rare candys. So you'd have a hitter, Ambipom, and the rest are pickups. But that's assuming you'd be running a full pickup team, which it sounds like you're not, so then the xp divided between them would just be slowing down Ambipom's growth.

Seems like the Eeveelution guy really is the best after testing these trainers
4500 exp in 3 turns with lucky egg isn't being out done with exp share facing tougher pokemon
The only others that give more exp take more turns
Although, West of Veilstone there are a pair of Ace Trainers who gives like 90% the exp of Eeveelution guy, but since they're a pair, there's a higher chance of your vs seeker actually finding a battle

Last thing I'll try is this Rancher that uses Ponyta, Rapidash, Tauros, Miltank
4 turns, but maybe more EXP?

Well I added up the exp gains from various methods, note this is using an Ambipom with strength when I say lucky egg being used

Eeveelution guy: South of Veilstone
Flareon, Vaporeon, Jolteon mid 20s

Veilstone Trainers: Pair of Ace Trainers directly west of Veilstone,
roserade, lickilicky, gardevoir
gliscor, floatzel, driftblim
early 60s

Gyarados guy: West of Sunyshore, level 50 and 50 something gyarados

Luxray guy: a single level...57(?) luxray

What about the gym leaders at the battleground or elite 4?

And finally, despite no one really caring

Rancher Marco:
Exp gained using a lucky egg at level 72 (had to be quite strong for this)
6 turns, got swaggered and didn't hit myself maybe 7 turns otherwise or 8?
20670 exp!!!!

Marco using an exp share only:
4 turns
6919 exp

In short, if using the exp share, it's probably best to fight veilstone trainers. Easy to bike back and forth, less risk of vs seeker failing and they barely give less than Marco and with 1 less turn

If you are late 20's to 50, I seriously find facing the Eeveelution guy with the lucky egg to be fastest

Once you are strong enough to face either Marco or Veilstone Trainers with a lucky egg, go to them, or just EXP share the entire time

Note I was using an Ambipom so some of these trainers would be easier to Lucky Egg if they were a bit of a better mon, I had to use Choice band against the Top Veilstone trainer for 11725 exp, so, with lucky egg that's a lot more (think marco would be better still)

TLDR; Exp share Veilstone --> Eeveelution Lucky Egg --> Lucky Egg either Veilstones or Marco At 50-60
>>
>>58659412
Considered them but those are fights that actually vary a lot depending who you're facing
Well Rayquaza can probably still one shot almost everything
But they use 6 mons and I think you gotta abuse the clock to reset them? But 6 mons is worth it if they just give an outrageous amount of exp, so i can test
