Flapple is different enough, it's really only Appletun that gets completely overshadowed as a slow, bulky special attacker. Big shame since Appletun is very cute, but lack of regenerator alone hurts too much

im trying to build a reg f team around hydrapple. he has a lot of tools but hes still just not that good. i want to make him work bros :(

i have an assault vest build for him thats physically bulky enough to survive guts facade from the murder bear and specially bulky enough to survive specs tera fairy dgleam from mane, underspeeding both ursalunas and hitting them for super effective to get recovery with giga drain is genuinely very nice

the idea is that with giga drain and regenerator, he just hangs around forever being annoying, and can heal allies with pollen puff too. the problem is just i dont know what to put with him. i like h-arcanine as part of a fire-water-grass core because the intimidate switching synergises with regenerator (incin would work too but i think the rest of the core needs to pressure damage because hydrapple lacks it). not sure who the water should be. id like to avoid the bara bear if i can in part because i hate him but also in part because the fairy weakness makes apple a bad switchin for him which defeats the point of the core.

the rest of the team needs probably 1 more high-offence damage threat (ive been looking at chi-yu), something that can work for both damage and support (farigiraf feels nice here because i love armor tail), and a dedicated support (having a very difficult time finding a mon who brings everything else i need in one kit). and tailroom needs to be somewhere. i feel like i have various good individual ideas but im too shit at teambuilding to bring it all together into something cohesive
