It's wondering why they never actually made a pokémon platformer game, it would have sell like butter among the younger ones in the 90s and 2000s.
When I was a kid I desperately wanted one too, but the only things close were fan games like Monster Go Go Go and Super Masato by Pokemoa.

PokePark?

It's more of an action and I actually talked about 2D platformers.

2D platformers were dying by the time Pokemon became popular.

i'd play a megaman/zero game with pokemon. Running around a stage using pokemon moves.

That was one of my favorite things to do in subspace emissary in brawl

Because Mario exists, you dumb fucker and Nintendo weren't making a pokémon platformer spin-off, to draw potential interest and sales from their Marquee IP of the fat italian jumper. In case you spent the last almost 30 years in a diabetic coma, they didn't do half bad with how they DID present the early days of Pokémon.

1997 to 2007 or so, that 10-year span, most companies couldn't be forced to make a 2d platformer. Gamecube and GBA didn't have any new 2d mario games, and they only relented with NSMB because of a massive push to retain the brand. Plenty of kids of that era grew up with RERELEASED 2d platformers - I was born in 97 too and my favorite game of all time is Yoshi's Island because of how much depth I found in it playing the GBA port - but 2d platformers just weren't being made, and were generally seen by the industry as unappealing to consumers because of how ubiquitous they were in the previous gens.

Among gaymers but they were still extremely common on the gba and DS

Nintendo has multiple RPG series and one of the criticisms of Nintendo in this time was that they didn't have a big main Mario game on the GBA
