What is Pokémon Sleep?
Pokémon Sleep is a sleep tracking app that utilizes your smartphone and/or the Pokémon Go Plus + device to record data as you sleep. In doing so, you'll be able to meet a variety of Pokémon and fill out your Sleep Style Dex.

Be sure to post your Research ID so that you can add and share candy with fellow Anons. We are currently locked at 50 friends.

FAQ:
>How do Shinies work?
If you encounter a shiny Pokémon, you only need to feed it a single Poké Biscuit to befriend it.
>What should I spend my diamonds on?
Expanding your ingredient pockets, item pockets and Pokémon box. Long term you’ll want to max out ingredient pockets, only get half of max for items and max 100 for Pokémon.
>When should I use my items?
When you have a good grasp of the game mechanics. You may want to save up Recovery Incenses for event missions.
>What should I spend my sleep points on?
Poké Biscuits first or if you’re a premium user: Main and Subskill seeds and Great Biscuits.
>Can I play this game if there's a lot of noise where I sleep?
The game tracks sleep based on motion only; sound has no impact.
>A Pokémon I fed got full! Will I have to start from scratch the next time I find one?
Nope! Pokémon retain the level of progress they were at the last time you fed them.
>How do dream clusters work?
The higher your research rank, the more you get. You may want to hold onto them as long as possible.

It's OK, but it could stand to be better. If it had a skill or speed nature, I'd say go for it, but right now you already need to use a Subskill Seed for it to be decent. Due to skill types also needing Main Skill Seeds, my standards tend to be higher than the other specialists.

55% area bonus at GGEX, Steel/Psychic/Ghost berries, skills effect.
This week has mostly just been my BFS Gardevoir and Gengar doing their thing, and a mixture of ingredient farmers that have let me cook a lot of the stronger curries like Inferno Corn Keema Curry, Ninja Curry, and Role Play Pumpkaboo Stew.
I haven't been running any berry specialists, but I'm just shy of 2M strength after Saturday lunch.
I should have everything I need to cook up a Hidden Power Perk-Up Stew, a Cut Sukiyaki Curry, and my first Overgrow Avocado Gratin; Sunday dishes too big for my unboosted pot.

Next week is another gap-week before the holiday event, I hope my GGEX berry rolls are better, but I did get a decent Munna this morning that if I needed, I could candy boost up as my first psychic berry specialist. It's got Dream Shard Bonus / BFS / Inventory Up L with Impish nature (energy up ingredients down), and ABC ingredient spread.
My other ABC BFS Munna ironically had the maximum possible ingredient finding spread by 50, with Rash nature.
>>
So the event doesn't start until Christmas week right?
>>
>>58735853
Should I be focusing on trying to get ice pokemon or should i just get that ggex bonus up?
>>
>>58735853
Event starts 22nd, so next week (15th) is a normal week.
>>58735861
Ice or steel type, but I think you'll probably have a better time just raising GGEX bonus and hoping that your 3rd berry is a good roll. Use a GCT regardless, with double dream shards it should be lucrative.
>>
that 41 milk for the gratin is insane, my aab meowscarada does well for it but damn

Luckily, I think you can get all the Ice and Steel Pokemon on Expert. Just make sure you leave an Expert ticket for the event.
>>
>>58736068
My AAB Blastoise does a great job for milk, but I also have an ABB Meowscarada that should eventually be my best milk farmer.

Max trigger isn't necessary, but you want at least 2 sources of skill bonus, whether that's STM + STS or skill up nature. STM is good, but by itself tends to not be all that much, even with speed. Also while Helping Bonus is good too, you actually want skill Pokemon to have more selfish skill sets. So Helping Bonus is really just a bonus skill since skill slots are so limited.

Would it at least be a good overnight double proccer with the inv up?

I mean, it'll be OK, probably better as a Sylveon than a Vaporeon. It'll just be a bit inconsistent due to lacking activations. Sylveon is just a little bit above Wigglytuff and a step below Pawmot & Gardevoir in terms of effectiveness.
>>
Off to GGex
>>
Ey, got my crit and managed M3 for my incense. Basically only got to cook on the first and last day due to lack of any proper ingredients.
>>
Considered going to Snowdrop just for a better chance at Snovers and A.Vulpixes, but that wouldn't really help my odds since I still have to secure Slumbering in any case. May as well just repeat Expert again for a 5% boost. All the nice stuff on Expert isn't very kind on my biscuit exchange stock though.
>>
GGEX this week is Steel / Water / Poison with skills effect and salads, 60% expert bonus.
My BFS Suicune team with HB Vaporeon and BFS Blastoise getting extra skill procs, plus BFS Feraligatr, is gonna do well this week. Gardevoir is gonna lag though, compared to how well it did last week under similar conditions with favorite Psychic berries.
For mandatory Steel and Poison sleeping missions, I have my Aggron and Toxicroak to farm sausages and oil, which isn't so bad.

Not a single GGEX visit or reroll has had electric berries yet, I really fucking want that to happen already so my Raichu / Pawmot / Dedenne team can shine, and I might actually invest in my BFS Raikou by minting its hindering nature and giving it full candy boost next week. I want to use 3,500 boosted candies if possible, I've got a lot of stuff that could use it, and I've managed to save up 1,200,000 dream shards since upgrading to 78 cooking pot space. It's enough to upgrade to 81, but this is not the right time.

>>58742610
I have an Alolan Vulpix incense I should probably use, just for the encounter. I've discovered all their sleep styles.
I got a Mudkip this morning, but useless spread. The BFS Swampert hunt continues, but it's only been 14 befriended.
>>
>>58742680
I got super lucky. Electric, poison and flying berries. Means I can bring out my best team since I've been parking at ogp for most of the year. I have nothing for ice and steel though so next week I might just do regular gg instead of expert
>>
Really wish I had at least picked up a Doduo by now. Braviary would have been really nice too, before I spent most of my skill seeds on Darkrai. I have a pair or Meganiums I've been using, but my Gengar doesn't have BFS and my BFS Banette is literally just BFS with a shitload of inventory. Just have to continue hoping I'll get something good this week or any week.
>>
>>58743977
Did you transfer out?
>>
>>58744743
There's no point in changing islands. Whenever I pick Expert, I know what the consequences of a bad roll are, so I just don't pick I actually care about getting a decent score for that week.
>>
Is it worth powering a swalot for the shards next week?
>>
>>58745570
Unless you've already got a good one and were planning on using it anyways, Dream Shard Magnet mons are more an end game thing. High investment costs that take months of continued use to pay off, but can give you a lot extra to work with on dead weeks. A single boosted week isn't going to do much for you. Not to mention using a Dream Shard Magnet mon sacrifices power, so you have to be sure that what you're getting from the skill outweighs any power you'd lose in your daily research (though that's not hard if you actually have a good roll with a maxed skill).
>>
>>58745036
Expert tickets have finite supply each month, and re-rolls are costly since you need both an E-Zzz travel ticket and an expert ticket to do so.
For a non-event week, I wouldn't reroll and just take it on chin so I can earn that expert bonus.
Next week though, I may consider it if my third berry is completely unworkable.

Since I carried over 2 expert tickets from last month, and have used 3 already, I currently have 2 held and 1 left in stock (including the premium exchange).
There's only two Mondays left in December, so that affords me one reroll for next week, a second reroll would mean minimising expert bonus gains for December (and also January, really).
January only has four Mondays, so you can go Expert the whole month.

Can't remember what the exact available stock of Expert tickets is though, and web searching is failing me right now. I think it was 3 regular, 1 premium?

Upside is you can run both if you need to stockpile shitloads of avocados?
It's better than when I invested in a "good enough" Igglybuff, and then two months later the game hands me a literal perfect Igglybuff as an early Christmas gift. I've sadly no reason to run my first Wiggly, ever, and that's after multiple main skill seed investments.

Side note, my Gardevoir has triggered one single time since I went to GGEX on Monday. What the fuck.

Yeah, I rolled Steel / Water / Poison this week, so I didn't get any of the E4E options like Fairy, Psychic, or Electric.

I got Psychic last week, as well as 1.25x skill rate, so I was running Gardevoir and she was proccing like crazy.
I kept her on my team going into this week and it's been dire, 2 procs across 2 days. I'll be switching her out for Wigglytuff tomorrow since Gardevoir is technically my 3rd place healer (Pawmot is 1st), but Wiggly has HB that stacks with the Vaporeon I'm running.

i dont see much point in cooking powerup in the late game. if you dont have the pot size for your meal, cook something smaller and use the 3rd slot for berries or charge strength. maybe if youre trying to level a meal without a gct they can be useful. ive got 2 decent options but mostly use the first one as a steel berry farmer

>>
>>58750149
Being able to cook the most powerful dishes more regularly sounds good, but for the complexity of both stockpiling the ingredients and also having enough power ups, is probably outdone by Dedenne's Extra Tasty chance and just making more of your regular dishes double strength.
So, it pans out better to stockpile for a Sunday cook, and maximise those tasty chances.
This is also considering that extra ingredients only linearly add strength (times area bonus), they don't get the recipe level bonus that the required ingredients do. That means in the majority of cases, just running a good berry farmer is far more effective.

Cooking Power Up S on Salamence or Meowscarada on the other hand? It's a nice bonus that can help if your ingredient gathering is exceeding your baseline usage.
>>
I've tried to add every fc posted here she last thread and I'm already friends with every single one of you
>>
>>58750149
I meant more if it had BFS, which I'm looking for over skill triggers. Extra pot size is nice depending on your team's ingredient output, since there have been times when I have the correct ingredients for some more advanced recipes instead of the stock standard. I happened to get a max skill trigger Minun, which could double as an energy backup if I actually wanted to use it (in conjunction with another Plus/Minus).
>>
>>58750149
It's nice for when you need that one proc to cook the newest dish out
>>
While the goodnight ribbon bonuses are nice for NFE pokemon, I hope they revisit the idea and boost the bonuses a little. The difference between goodnight bonus vibrava and flygon is still pretty stark. Make us pay the 80 candies or whatever.
>>
>>58751722
Pretty sure the idea of the ribbons wasn't really to make NFEs viable, but to just make them less shitty if that's your favorite Pokemon and you refuse to evolve it. Maybe they could add like... 1 skill level as a bonus at 2,000, but I don't see them adding much else.
As far as NFE bonuses go, they also don't want to put players in the position where evolving a Pokemon with a 2k ribbon ends up worse than it was before. Vigoroth and Onix are unique since they're functionally different than their evolutions, but Chansey was an oversight that they specifically had to note.

>>58754604
Guess that's to be expected. There's very little "active" gameplay and progression is glacial, so unless you managed to pick up a good roll, there's not much else to talk about. You could theorize which species will be introduced next or come up with new skill mechanics, but that only goes so far.
Speaking of future additions, here are the current counts >>58730631
>>
ok the app thinks im asleep, what do i do now
>>
>>58754972
Go to bed. Don't play with your phone, sleep the night until your alarm goes off.
If you're tracking sleep with your phone, just keep it face down on your bed, not under a pillow, screen brightness lowest, plugged in charging.
The phone measures movement using motion sensors, so don't put it on a bedstand or any hard surface. It will invalidate your sleep session if it doesn't detect any motion after several hours, but it's very forgiving with that.

If the app gets closed by your phone's OS overnight, you may need to change a power management setting that can't happen.
>>
>>58753523
I got a BFS sneasel but it's ingredient up exp down with all three inventory skills and an ingredient finder
>>
>>58755207
Ironically probably still worth using.
You can let it go into sneaky snacking mode, and stockpile ingredients that are useful for Sunday.
Or avoid doing that for slightly better chances of getting Tasty Chance S procs.

>>58758684
Similar to the one I've got, great for filling the pot, but annoying for trying to cook a specific meal since it only gathers 8 of one kind of ingredient on any given proc.

Nothing more frustrating than when it gathers things that your active team is already gathering.
I don't think my ingredient magnet users have gathered more than 8 ginger this entire week, and that's an important one for salads weeks.
