>GF makes DLC for SV>go way overbudget (teraleak confirmed this) to make two large, cool new areas, fun characters, new music, interesting story, more interesting gameplay like doubles focus, etc.>sells way below expectations>planning DLC for LZA>fuck it, the paypigs will buy it anyway>make smaller scope DLC that's a bunch of battle-pass tier grinding missions in the same environments over and over again >pokemon fans buy it anyway because they get to press the same button over and over again to look for slightly different color versions of their pokemonMega Dimension is underwhelming at best, but realistically, why the fuck would GF bother to make anything good?
Let's see here, we've got:>tiny pathetic not-Japan>not even the good not-Japan (Johto)>4 additional gym leaders>roflmao BBQ!!! le ebin :^)both fucking suck
>>58734005Why did SV DLC go overbudget while SWSH DLC did not?Shouldn't they be of same scope?
>>58734292There's no mention of swsh DLC being overbudget, but if you've played both it and SV DLC you'll know it's much smaller in scope and scale than SV was. People like Isle of Armor/Crown Tundra but that's mainly because base SWSH is so ass anything is better
They made something good though. Both DLCs are good.
ZA's dlc is horrid
>>58734005Not buying either
>>58734005>cool new areas, fun characters, new music, interesting storyWhat are you on? None of that was in the SV DLC.
>>58734340There objectively is new music tho
Not buying it anywaysNot even pirating it anyways
I liked Oni Mountain and the Area Zero Underdepths. The rest? Not so much, so the money wasn't really well spent. If Game Freak didn't find it lucrative enough, fuck them.So I'm fine not buying any DLC again. Let the diehard "fans" enjoy their forced Mega designs, downgraded mythicals and grinding. What really matters is the base game, which is too subpar in Z-A's case.
>>58734005I can't argue with either of your statements, but I feel like you're missing a bigger fundamental issue, the games they were attached to.i had fun playing PLZA. The core gameplay loop: completing rotating missions, navigating parkour, sneaking up on pokemon, the real time battle system, even if the DLC doesn't offer much more than that, I liked that, so I wanted more. I wanted more, so i bought the expansion.my enjoyment playing violet was... mid. The only part I really felt excited during was the final exploration of Area Zero, incel crying over a walking mock orange, "oh uh, hey look there's a turtle," and mochi mochi mochi time didn't sound like it was going to provide more of what I did enjoy, and I wasn't particularly interested in buying more of what I felt was lackluster.
