Do you believe that the transition to 3d expanded the design for Pokemon or should they stop trying to go full leftfield? I'm mainly talking about pokemon like Eternatus and Archaludon. One thing about pokemon is that they have simple design and are easy to draw, which is why so many have tons of fanart. But what about pokemon like Eternatus? That thing is way too complex and if you try drawing it on scale, it's going to be rough. It's something that was clearly design with 3d in mind. Should TPC scale back on these crazy designs or should they keep trying to expand on them?
>>58735685the designs were already getting too complex when they started designing retarded shit like giratina and kyurem
>>58735685Keep expanding on them. The weirder designs are my favorites. I’d take an Eternatus over a Flamigo any day
>>58735685Despite all the flaws the transition to 3D did wonders to many pokemon, the way the models change shapes and forms and light up and shit elevates the designs a shitton.
>>58735685I think the 3D transition is the one thing that broke Gamefreak completely since I'm assuming their inexperienced devs spend way too much time trying to "optimize" stuff that it drags down every other aspect of the modern games. In terms of Pokemon design itself I actually usually see the opposite argument which accuses Pokemon designs becoming smoother and rounder because it's easier to model compared to older Pokemon which had more detailed features like bird feet
>>58735695While yes, they are complex, but compared them to Eternatus, they are still simple.
Ruined not expanded
>>58735685Eternatus is literally just the Areodacty skeleton with a face plate
