The waves were identical, but a Wahoo was faintly audible. A technical marvel.* **Specs Weedle** just stared intensely at its Shellphone. The Choice Specs glowed. Suddenly, the device emitted a hyper-compressed, high-definition sonic burst of every ocean sound at once. It was impressive but painful. The Witch Doctor nodded in approval.* **Xi Jinping** dialed with purpose. "We will build a community with a shared future for all ocean-dwelling organisms." The connection was strong, stable, and the seagulls seemed to be singing in unison. A very disciplined ocean.* **TheStroker** smirked. "Too easy." He input the code with blinding speed. The connection was instant and flawless. "See? Nothing to it. Pure talent."The second category was **Desert Desolation**. They were judged on the sheer, empty loneliness of the dial tone.* Mario got a nice, windy drone.* Another Mario found a faint tumbleweed sound effect.* Specs Weedle's signal was so desolate it accidentally connected to a void between dimensions. The Dryad looked concerned.* Xi Jinping's connection spoke of the great potential of arid land reclamation.* TheStroker's was, again, perfect. "Called it," he boasted.The final, decisive category was **Underworld Inferno**. This tested the raw power of the connection, its ability to withstand the chaotic, fiery energies of hell.
The pressure was on. Mario went, getting a solid connection filled with the wails of Lost Girls and the crackle of lava. Another Mario bested him by accidentally ordering a pizza from the Underworld's delivery imp.Specs Weedle, its Choice Specs steaming from effort, produced a connection so hot and distorted it melted a nearby ash block. A critical hit, but perhaps too much.Xi Jinping's Shellphone connected. The sound was not of chaos, but of immense, orderly furnaces powering great underworldly industry. "The inferno serves the people," he noted.It was all down to TheStroker. This was his moment. He wiped sweat from his brow. "This is for all the marbles. Watch a master at work."He input the code. He kicked a patch of sand, then stormed off the stage, muttering about "swagge" and "broken mechanics," leaving the other champions to bask in their glory, utterly bewildered by the name of the developer he had chosen to curse.
