This isn’t the evidence you think it is. Going above 100 didn’t even exist (officially) until this DLC. If Gamefreak wanted to make “super tera mega hyper donuts” that are necessary to buff you to level 300 or whatever in another DLC, they could just do it.

That's cool, but you still have a plateau for content progression whenever the game wants to throw sidequests or battles that take place in normal Lumiose (which they absolutely will have, and it was very noticeable throughout Mega Dimension).
They even already ticked off the "fight a gauntlet of trainer-owned Megas" via Korrina in the Post-Rayquaza Reward Match pool, wherein she'll fight you with a full fucking team of Mega Evolutions like a tryhard difficulty romhack.

Specially the Pokémon Day announcement is what kills the chance of another DLC, there's no way they are gonna sell a second DLC while announcing the next core game, which is also a Switch 2 exclusive (confirmed by the teraleak) meaning they are already telling fans they have to get a Switch 2 whether they like it or not.

If it does get a 2nd DLC, I'd claim that's worse, only for what it implies for the future of the series. Before we got 2 DLCs for 30. Now we're getting 1 half assed one that isn't even comparable to 1 of the old ones for the same price. Since this theoretical 2nd DLC wasn't advertised with the 1st DLC, we're going to have to pay for it, a whole extra 30 dollars. Once they get away with that, that will bleed into gen 10's DLC needing to pay for each part of the DLC where each one is the same price as the DLC pack from before
