its a masterpiece
>>58740263Idk about masterpiece but I’m enjoying it a lot more than either of the previous 2 DLC’s combined.
>>58740263Its fucking trash and wasn't even FOTW, rest in piss ZA
>>58740263There's a lot to do, but it's a lot of busywork. I don't mind grinding in Pokemon, but once you unlock special scanning it just doesn't feel rewarding enough. I'd rather have a new map to explore, even if there's quantifiably less "content". Having 2000 unique trainer battles doesn't mean shit if there's no compelling reason to engage with those battles. I did like the story, what little there was to it. The way they paired characters who never got screen time together was clever and builds on XY's theme of intersection and crossed paths. But the way they tackle ZA's theme of dreams was shallow. Presenting it as a literal dream world caused by Darkrai was dumb, and just muddles what's presented as a space-time rift. It makes the cast come off as dumb, when the player recognizes this as a space time distortion, but they're all treating it like it was just Darkrai's dream powers. Usually they frame these things more ambiguously, they'll have at least one dissenting voice to push back against the medieval peasant characters. Just like the base game, where "dreams" were actually an illusion of choice, we have another story where characters think they actualized their dreams when in reality, they just stumbled through wormholes. Something that fits way more with XY's original themes. The whole dream theme is a god damn mess and feels like it was never part of the original drafts.
