Your confusion might come from the fact Trial Captains, Kahunas and Elite 4 in Alola don't follow the same rules. Hapu is too young to be a Trial Captain but she is a Kahuna, Acerola is a Trial Captain but she is also a Elite 4 member together the other Kahunas.

>>58742423I mean... almost all character in the game not having defined ages (if you exclude what we know from character sheets thanks to the teraleak) coul be legal loli or vice versa.If you ask here on /vp (or anywhere else for that matter) Misty, Erika and Sarbrina's Ages you'll get all kind of different replies, people will tell you that Erika is the oldest, some will claim Sabrina is, but Sabrina (in english) is named after Sabrina the TEENAGE witch, and in the game is referred to as "young" so some could say she is 17, in Adventures she even looks younger than her game coutnerpart etc. so almost all gym leaders and other important characters could easily have canonically different ages than what we assume they have
