Tips for watching all of the pokemon anime? I considered watching it while catching up on all the games. Right now I am 3/4th the way through Pokemon Platinum. Is watching Pokemon anime a waste of time? Will it drive me insane to try to watch it all, even passively in the background, since its for children?

>>58743945As a non genwunner (bort) the indigo league is one of my favorite parts of the franchise. It almost singlehandedly carries gen 1 from being a bottom 3 gen, to possibly a top 3. The Entei and Lati movies are pretty good, but I tried watching other gens, and they were pretty darn close to garbage. I absolutely love the Unova games, but that anime series brings down the generation a lot. Gen 6 was pretty bad too so was 8. I couldn't get into Gen 9 non-Ash one, but it at least captured my attention for longer. Similar thing to the Gen 7 anime, which I can at least appreciate for trying something different.

Not OP but how do people go about finding the best release of cel-era stuff like Pokémon’s earlier seasons? My time spent in the Dragon Ball community has taught me that there’s a lot of potential release fuckery like off-color tones/tints, film grain removal, etc. that goes beyond the typical ripping and encoding stuff

Is that a regional thing, or something from the usenet days? In Japan they're usually called 止め絵 (stop picture), but harmony cell is more common in English. Postcard memory has caught on more in recent years, but harmony cell has been frequently used since at least the mid aughts.
