what are your thoughts on baby pokémon?
IT'S AWWWWWWRIGHT
>>58749473Based. They're cute and they make chuds seethe by taking up tons of dex space.
They're at their most tolerable when given to 'mons that would feel weird hatching out of an egg like Snorlax and Chansey. In that sense I kinda wish they'd give them to 'mons like Stantler and Duraludon which suddenly found themselves as the base stages of an evolutionary line (also that baby Celesteela we saw in the anime).
>>58749473>Pichu, Smoochum, Azurill, Wynautvery sexually attractive>the restugly fucks
>>58749616>he wants azurill to bounce on itYOU SICK FUCK
>>58749628Literally built for it. Only spoink rivals the bouncing potential.
>>58749559Well, I guess it wouldn't be a baby since babies have to be obtainable by breeding (unless you wanna consider Cosmog, Kubfu, Gimmighoul, etc. babies), but spiritually it'd be a baby.
>>58749473They should not count towards the "3 pokemon max per evolution line" rule
>>58749473Cute x>
>>58749922I would like that. Rhyhorn should have a pre-evo. And making Baby Pokémon more distinct from other first-of-evo-line Pokémon is good.
>>58749559What would this Baby Pokemon's name be?
>>58749473A complete waste of time
>>58749473Pichu sexo
>>58749473>LUST>PROVOKING>IMAGE
>>58749473what could have been a good idea but like everything gets bogged down by Game Freak's typical stupidity, makes them a waste of dex space. Almost never available soon enough to matter, who gets a baby is completely arbitrary, what's considered a baby isn't even consistent, no mechanic or purpose associated with babies other than the incenses which were dumb and scrapped anyway. It's embarrassing that that TCG handles babies better than game freak has ever (though Togepi not being one is an ironic fumble, and mantyke got royally gypped) you'd think Game Freak would handle baby pokemon better considering Ohmori likes 'em young but I guess game freak only likes babies when raping them.
Reply with your list of already-existing Pokémon that you feel should be Baby Pokémon but aren’t' and your list of already-existing Pokémon who should get a Baby Pokémon pre-evo.
>>58749473Useless for the most part except for thing that need it like Kangaskhan or Tauros/Miltank. Seriously, GF, how the fuck were they never on your list?

They are a good idea. Some pokemon obviously need a baby pokemon in their evolution line. But gamefreak thinks it is better to waste space on gimmickmons in the dex instead.
>>58749473Baby, baby, baby ooh
>>58752858Pinsir + HeracrossLaprasGirafarig
>>58749473Only one I hate is Toxel
>>58752597>already-existing Pokémon that you feel should be Baby Pokémon but aren’tCuboneRaltsSnoruntGothitaFlabébé (come on)PhantumpTinkatinkBasically any Pokémon that looks like an infant or canonically is an infant (like Cubone and Phantump).I'd say also make all the larvae Pokémon babies but I feel like you'd also have to make the cocoons babies unable to breed and that's a weird can of worms (heh).>already-existing Pokémon who should get a Baby Pokémon pre-evoKangaskhanStantlerDuraludonAny single-stage 'mon that already looks fully grown could use a baby but these are the most only cases where I feel like they really need it (in Kangaskhan's case because it's weird that she hatches out of an egg with a baby already, similar to pre-Happiny Chansey; and in Stantler and Duraludon's case, because their evolutionary line looks lopsided after they got new evolutions).
>>58753877How about the Ultra Beasts?
>>58754006I don't think any Ultra Beasts really need pre-evos (except for Celesteela since the anime kinda teased us with it >>58749559), even though they canonically probably have them since they're supposed to be common Pokémon just from other dimensions.
>>58754119Well that's why I decided to design them.Even gave poipole and Necrozma one.AdheggThe Sticky Egg PokémonPoison-typeA glossy purple egg coated in thick adhesive goo that lets it cling to any surface. It pulses softly, dripping sticky droplets while the embryo inside develops venomous spikes. Often found stuck via wormholes, it hatches into Poipole when nurtured with Z energy.BonnetgoThe Bonnet Veil PokémonPoison/Water-typeA delicate nudibranch-like juvenile with a translucent blue hood and feathery frills. It drifts gracefully, using mild toxins to influence others—evolving into Nihilego's parasitic bell.PotabugThe Potato Grub PokémonBug/Poison-typeA pudgy, stumpy Jerusalem cricket grub with a foul odor from immature glands. The ugly duckling that waddles lonely until its stench refines into Pheromosa's allure.TwigvoleThe Skinny Wriggle PokémonBug/Fighting-typeA frail, elongated mosquito larva that awkwardly flexes tiny stubs. The nerdy underdog siphoning "gains" to bulk into Buzzwole's swole form.NoelbulbThe Festive Pod PokémonElectric/Grass-typeA tangled Christmas wire ball in a pot, humming carols while siphoning power. The quirky plant that grows uncontrollably into Xurkitree when overfed electricity.OrizuruThe Paper Crane PokémonGrass/Steel-typeA fragile origami crane fluttering with hopeful wishes. Its obsessive folding practice sharpens edges into Kartana's lethal blades.MogwailThe Cuddly Fluff PokémonDark/Normal-typeAn irresistible fuzzy puffball with pleading eyes. Overfeed it, and the cute mogwai erupts into Guzzlord's gluttonous horror.Susu-eye The Soot Orb PokémonRock/Ghost-typeA hidden glowing eye in swirling dust and debris. It drifts collecting rubble, stacking into Stakataka's tower.
>>58754201Finally NecrozmaQuantlingThe Quantum Spark PokémonPsychic-typeA chaotic glowing energy ball with glowing bat wings and inward-collapsing rings. The proto-black hole zippy spark imploding into Necrozma's light-devouring prism.
>>58749473I think it's funny that they're considered babies but age still has nothing to do with pokemon evolution.Like you can have a Pichu who's pushing 25 but it's still a baby because it's a friendship evolution. That's not even counting spiky eared pichu who can't ever grow up.It's definitely a concept where themes are divorced from it's mechanics.
Bumb
>>58754485and then you can have fully evolved pokemon that you hatched less than an hour ago and evolved quickly by use of power leveling methods/lots of exp candies/evolution items/other methods not strictly tied to IRL time investment
>>58749473They're kinda fun to level up
>>58749473Just what Pokemon needsWeaker forms for already mediocre mons
>>58754485I need a comic of a guy with a Gardevoir accusing another guy with a Kirlia of being a pedo, then cut to 5 minutes ago where the Gardevoir guy is shoving Rare Candies down a freshly hatched Ralts throat
>>58754201>Noelbulb>Electric/Grasswhy Grass if only to lose it upon evolution?
>>58754006
>>58756921little 'mosa is CUTE
>>58754006>>58754201>>58756921Baby Buzzwole fan concepts never make it a mosquito larva, which is disappointing.
>>58757622because buzzwole's design isn't pure mosquito
>>58757631Most just make it a smaller mosquito.
>>58757622But i did???
>>58756900Could be interesting for there to be a 'mon that becomes monotype upon evolution. I think Bellossom is the only case of that to this day.
>>58759281huge missed opportunity to not do with pokemon losing a normal secondary type and going monotype on evolution
>>58759336Gloom losing the Poison type upon evolution is supposed to represent the fact that Bellossom isn't toxic anymore, but the normal type doesn't really represent any specific attribute (except sound sometimes) so it doesn't make sense for it to be lost upon evolution unless it is overwritten by another type.
>>58749473Should be buffed>Buffing babiesYeah, but most babymons are pre evos of weaker Pokémon. I feel they should be used as an excuse to buff those Pokémon, so it can be reasonable to catch and raise a babymon.
>>58760378idk something like Litleo being mono fire when becoming Oyroar would really sell home to me a feeling of it mastering and embodying its element upon maturing.Azurill used to do this before the fairy type existed
>>58752597>>58757622Speaking of larvae, I kinda want a Yanma pre-evolution based on a dragonfly larva. Could even have a Trapinch deal going on where it has higher attack than it's evolution since dragonfly larvae are known to hunt and eat basically anything that's the same size or smaller than them.
>>58752597>>58752871>>58753877I was ambivalent about whether Drampa really needed a pre-evo, but since it's new evolution establishes that it is in fact an old man instead of just looking like one, it's now definitely on the same level as Kangaskhan in the "due for a baby" list.
>>58749473in gen 2 they were okay, they showcased the new breeding & friendship mechanics and offered a novel way to obtain a new pokedex entrybut when they started putting baby pokemon in the wild they became completely pointless
>>58761585Sadly, all baby Drampa concepts predate LZA so I haven't seen any fan artists incorporating design elements from Mega Drampa.>>58761625Making them breeding-exclusive just reinforces them being dex fodder.
>>58761625they were shit precisely because they were breeding only. You're telling me that I need to obtain the stronger, already evolved form and breed them at a point which the baby is long past useful for just to be able to use them with no other benefits other than having a weaker form of something I already had? Them putting babies in the wild was the best thing for them. Unfortunately these days you can just rush to where their evolved forms are (assuming it isn't the same spot like it is most the time) and catch them without needing to hassle with friendship evolutions
>>58761585>>58761759It.Should.Have.Been.D U N S P A R C E
>>58761759>>58762025Being breeding only was the only thing uniting baby Pokémon. Without it the baby moniker is pointless. Ans letting them be wild only was a bandage fix that game freak really took advantage of anyway. However i think a decent middle ground would be gifting them to the player early game or even being able to find abandoned eggs in the wild or something. And baby Pokémon hatched by the player should gain exp much faster
>>58760451this only really works if it improves the typing. going dual type -> monotype is usually a downgrade unless you had a really shitty dual type (see: aggron). that being said if they just fucking buffed monotypes to get 2x STAB (or even 1.75x STAB) then we'd be getting somewhere
>>58756875Someone shooped that, then posted it in a different thread for some reason >>58761343
>>58762112>just stealing eggs from wild Pokemon nests
>>58762208I made that after forgetting I posted that comment in this thread
>>58762478The player already does the reverse when catching pokemon, at least some of the pokemon are bound to have had a nest of eggs/offspring to take ofBut the games could just add a sort blurb to justify it >the Pokémon in this area are especially trusting of humans, if they have an excess of eggs they may sometimes leave some near human settlements to be raised It wouldn’t even be too out of place since Pokémon apparently like it when humans try to catch them
