what is it specifically that makes npcs look so weird in this game? is it the cartoony features and soft shading? the weird saturated colors and bad color combos? somethings just uncanny
>>58755523These NPCs no longer have a character unto themselves so they can reuse them with different hair, skin color, and eye shape. So eyes that only fit with certain face shapes are now just slapped haphazardly on to any character. Skintone that can only fit with certain haircolor are just slapped onto whatever character. This creates an uncanny hodgepodge for generic NPC characters. The new Hex Maniac which was once iconic to Kalos has a bunch of ugly derivatives running around and many fans prefer the Hex Maniac of old or settle for the official art where you can see a tiny artwork of her. Pretty sure even the nose is replaceable for NPCs in this gameMeanwhile named NPCs like Canari, Taunie, etc., are specifically designed by an artist and then interpreted by a 3d one, making them look all right overall.
