you run the fat magnezone in that deck so it only does 90 while heliolisk hits 120
heliolisk is definitely faster since it can be online turn 4 (or 3 with energy switch and magneton) and clemont's backpack lets it hit for 140 which is enough to nuke a lot of ex mons like jolteon, entei, and caped suicune
you don't really use it "over" magnezone because it's a nonex deck, you ideally use all four of your mons

i used to run leafeon rampardos back in the day, and it was very effective for a deck i've literally never seen anybody else use.
probably would be shit nowadays though even with the instant evolution eevee, powercreep just hit too hard since then.

seeing her in mega blastoise makes sense, her only real use is with stage 2 megas that you'd want to rare candy into. being ran in lopunny/lucario is surprising though, between copycat and may stage 1s are easy to get online. i would never consider serena for that type of deck.
she's not a garbage card like some people are claiming, she's definitely around will tier where she's only useful in a small fraction of decks (deck has a mega, not a basic mega, not a stage 1 mega, not a stage 2 mega that goes through the stage 1 like zard or venu) but she's good when your deck does meet that criteria. still, that's not good for her trade value.

This deck feels like a decent alternative to MLopunny/Magnezone. It can’t replicate how annoying Confusion is though. I think a Mimikyu is a good tech card since today’s attacks are too high and copying those attacks for a merely 1-point when defeated pokemon is pretty worth it.
