please explain to me how the fuck did the sinnoh starters literally get NOTHING these past gens, albeit outside of one neat ability change on Empoleon. KANTOOOO all got megas + gigantamax forms, johto got 2 megas 1 regional, hoenn got 3 megas, unova got 1 mega one regional, kalos got 3 megas, alola got a regional and galar got 3 gigantamax. You literally have to go all the way to current gen to find another starter trio that has nothing. And this is like one of the most popular starter trio in the franchise, with Piplup printing infinite merch money

Torterra also sees some success in lower tiers thanks to gaining Shell Smash which is the best buff it could have possibly gotten. Poor Infernape definitely got powercrept into the ground however, modern Pokémon is not kind to mixed attackers in general and it's too frail for something that can't even beat the 110 speed threshold

The Sinnoh starters are also universally beloved and can never be split up. The Johto starters only ever existed to be laughed at to make other starters look better. Anyone who cared about any the Johto trio long outgrew the main series, so them beig split up isn't a issue.
