The level gaps are just too much... I don't think I can get through it...
skill issue.
You sound like a little bitch
>>58767562>>58768746Bodied that freak
>>58767534desu I find Gen 4’s engine to be a bigger snoozefestt. thinks the originals are better
If you don't like HGSS you're probably brown
>>58768776>no running shoes >even slower hp bars than Gen 4>small ass bag>required to save after every other action in the PCHGSS mogs the originals
OP is literally worse at Pokémon games than deltranny, let that sink in
>>58767534The only places where the levels are truly egregious are the Mahogony hideout and route 45, since they didn't adjust the levels properly for those areas despite adjusting the levels of the areas around them. IIRC, the trainers on route 45 are lower level than those on route 44 in HGSS, while those in the hideout are weaker than those on route 43 (which one must go through before the hideout). >>58768784You don't really need running shoes in gen 2 because the map isn't nearly as large.
>>58767534The level curve is less awful if you go east of Ecruteak and do Rocket Hideout and Pryce first.
>>58769042thisthe level curve meme is really exaggerated, it's noticeably fucky around this one part but apart from that it's pretty normalin fact, most flaws with hgss are a lot more minor than people let them on to befor example i regularly see people say "half/most of the gen 2 pokemon are only available in kanto" when in reality, if we take that at face value it's only porygon2 (and even that has an asterisk next to it) and if we take that as in "half/most of the gen 2 pokemon are only available in the postgame" it's like 6 pokemon total, one of which is a legendary

>>58770366why did you bump it you fucking ape
>>58768784>>even slower hp bars than Gen 4Don’t spit on my face and tell me it’s raining, you stupid fucking zoomer.
bigger problem is the lack of usable mons, enjoy your free togepi with no moves kek
>>58770696>no movesit starts with extrasensory, what
>>58767534the only time the level curve was an issue for me was when using stone evolution pokemon.by the time you reach e4 they still aren't high levelled enough to learn their best moves so you have to continue to postpone evolving them. having to use a gloom, exeggcute or growlithe at the e4 sucks and they just become dead weight in these battles.
>>58771204wtf a genuine, real criticism of hgss that i can actually agree with
>>58770402https://youtube.com/watch?v=XFkCu4c2XVw&t=7m27s>>58770735Me when I don't play the game and spew bullshit
>>58769042The big issue with HGSS is that everything after Mahogany is now hard-gated until completion of the Radio Tower, which wasn’t the case in GSC. They should have bumped up the levels of those trainers, now that it’s explicitly more linear and you can’t stumble on it early anymore.
>>58771216Kek gen 2 is such a jokeHGSS Togepi did have Extrasensory thoughbeit
>>58771216This thread is about HGSS you absolute mongoloid
>>58771230I bet you also complained that training Magikarp was too hard.
>>58771237gyarados is a strong pokemon and has a tangible goal of level 20togeshit sucks dick the whole time and it might not evolve by level 30
>>58771237Magikarp came after the 1st gym and the reward is a cool, strong PokemonTogepi comes at the 3rd gym and sucks even as a Togetic
>>58771223Linearity is the least of most people's concerns when everyone takes the same route for Johto anyway. You can go left or right in Ecruteak but basically everybody goes left first for the badge order. The region is not interconnected well enough to encourage exploring different paths when that part of the game is essentially a straight line you go back and forth in with a Radio Tower fly stop. I don't think being able to go to Blackthorn before Radio Tower does much for the game.
>>58771223They did bump up the levels on route 44 though, just not route 45 for some odd reason. The levels range from 23-27 in GSC while they were bumped up to 26-30 in HGSS. Yet the levels on route 45 were left untouched save for a single hiker recieving a one level boost on his onix for some insane reason.
>>58771216Did you just skip the OP post or what? Also, since you brought it up, in GSC you get the swift TM in union cave and headbutt in Ilex forest (which can also be infinitely purchased in Goldenrod) so you’re hardly left without any offensive option’s whatsoever. No elemental punches is bullshit though, I’ll admit
>>58767534What, are you too overleveled? That's basically the only problem until like Red. It does suck for a little bit, they should have put a few more roadblocks and balanced the levels a bit better, but I get it they were focusing on improving the already good parts and adding new good stuff with the same spirit instead of making the part that was a little bad better. I'd take that over FRLG being too strict with new evolutions but also functionally removing Pokemon from the pool by adding more version exclusives, ORAS making the good points of RS worse while bringing barely anything to the table aside from completely obsoleting XY, or BDSP somehow being a worse overall experience than one of the worst Pokemon games.
>>58771591wow swift and headbutt on that sick 20 base attack when i could use literally anything else instead lmao
>>58771690>Moving the goalpost
>>58772010>missing the point that gen 2 togedick will always suck ass and daddy sinnoh had to throw johturd like 50 bones
>>58772018Nobody said it didn’t suck, you’re arguing with a strawman of your own creation. The original post said it had no moves even though it starts with extrasensory in HGSS and has early stab accessible through TMs in GSC.
I just dont like the lack of good grinding spots. You mean to tell me there's no practical level 30 wild mons south of Blackthorn?I don't mind the lack of real high level wild mons in kanto, since thats postgame, but iirc, which im likely not, even mt silver is level 50 at most.
>>58772022This is like saying Sentret has moves because it gets Tackle. You're really pushing it and taking things too literally buddy.
>>58772030tackle sentret would do as much damage as togenigger headbutt
>>58771216I like how it gets not 1, but 2 moves that decrease attack and nothing else.I feel like Game Freak planned out how to catch the new Pokemon, but forgot that kids might want to use them too.
