>>58768469I think he looks cool in that specific artwork and that's part of why I usually choose Charmander when playing Gen 1 (never really used Bulbasaur), because I associate that art with those games. In most other art Charizard looks pretty fat and lame and so loses the appeal. So to some extent it is kind of nostalgia. I guess I also think it's cool how it has wings; the other starters from that gen don't have as drastic a transformation.That said I wouldn't exactly call myself a Charizard fan either; more than anything it's just my standard Kanto starter and is just okay overall.
