I remember as a kid playing Gold for the first time desperate for houndour but obviously it was kanto exclusive. But when you check pokedex pre league it says unavailable. So i checked my friends silver when he wasnt looking and nope, still unavailable. So I gave up figuring it was just impossible to catch. I was a dumb kid and never bothered to check the dex on unlocking KANTOOOO. Never even knew heracross existed until I saw one in the anime, never figured out how to catch it in gen 2 until HGSS. I thought Skarmory and Slugma were gen 3 mons since going down skarmorys route was basically pointless in my kid brain since I could just fly home on my beastly pidgeot. Gen 2 is my favorite bit I am willing to admit its mostly nostalgia and the fact that a lot of gen 3/5/7+ mons are dogshit ugly and lame

Slugma is cool and finding it in Kanto for the first time was cool. Now, the real problem is useless pokemon like Dunsparce, Unown and numerous baby pokemon that don't serve any purpose in the game whatsoever.

HP needs work but it can take a hit, or I should say it should, but its typing makes doing that next to impossible when any physical attacker is likely to have earthquake and water moves being plentiful as the water type is one of the better types out there.
