Pokemon type conversations would be better if every pokemon fan was colorblind.
Regional forms tell a story of adaptation. If Johtonian Sneasel is Dark/Ice, it suggests it evolved to hide in the shadows of cold places. If the Hisuian version had been Ice/Poison, the lore could have explained that over time, as the world became more inhabited by humans, Sneasel lost its "poisonous" traits and developed "dark" traits to hide more effectively, making the Hisuian form a true "missing link."
But then it would have a weakness if a steel type tried to counter its stupid signature move
