Boomers tapped out after gen 2
Yes, I did love spending another 40€ for an additional cutscene that doesn't even make you battle Rayquaza then but still at Sky Pillar exactly like in RS, how did you know?
esl thread
>>58784372I was honestly hoping that ORAS would have had some rendition of that cutscene. And yet, it didn't.
>>58784372this made them writhe in euphoria

>>58784372>boomersYou mean millenials?>>58784401This makes me so nostalgic, not for Pokemon but rather for the Internet in the 2000s, which wasn't as sanitized and filled with ads everywhere
Gen 3 may be a late millennial generation, but Emerald is an early zoomer game.
>>58784435>but rather for the Internet in the 2000sI'm curious, have you seen EmpLemon's video on missing the old web? If you had, what're your thoughts?(NTA, just became curious if his points were considered agreeable here.)
>>58784372Boomers left in disappointment after GS
>>58784447No I haven't seen this video. But since I am bored right now I'll give it a look. I am also someone who loves to overdose on nostalgia lmfaoThanks for the suggestion
I bought Emerald over 20 years ago and still have it, the box, the manual, and the Nintendo Power guide. I remember being so genuinely disappointed after this scene because nearly 100% of it was given away in commercials and screenshots, the part that wasn't was just>Groudon and Kyogre return to their home planet.pptI remember thinking it was going to be a battle or a longer cutscene or something cooler, but this was way less than even the Distortion World, and the Distortion World is already clowned on for being pretty barren and linear, it's a set piece with some really basic puzzles more than interesting content.
>>58784401yeah, this was a certified boomer banger, makes me want to start firin' mah lazor
>>58784508>the Distortion World is already clowned on for being pretty barren and linear, really i think thats literally the best part of all pokemon stories kek
>>58784372Fug YEAHHHHHHHH!
NIGGA DID I JUST CATCH YOU TWO HAVIN FUN
>>58784913>Those scratch texture overlays and that pixel font signatureSoul...
>>58784524I like it as an idea, and it's not like it really takes away from the story, it adds a bit more to the whole Mt. Coronet trek and extends the climax of the story a bit. But mechanically speaking, it's really lacking. The puzzles aren't really hard, there's no actual battling content outside of Cyrus and Giratina, you're mostly meant to marvel at the 3D camera movement and otherworldly aesthetic in a tile-based game, but frankly, that's not that different from Kalos Route 1 existing merely to show off the camera of Pokémon in a more 3D world and nothing else. How I would have handled it would have been by making it more expansive, like Mt. Coronet size but navigating downward, and have Cynthia accompany you to heal you between double battles. No wild Pokémon, just have more complex puzzles and scripted recurring double battles against Red Chain Dialga and Palkia as you work to defeat them enough times to break the chain and free them, and have a 3D map with checkpoints you can warp back to. Have your final battle against Cyrus, and then Giratina Origin Forme. Have it so that bringing Griseous Orb Giratina to the Spear Pillar in the post-game allows you to open a shadowy portal to return to the Distortion World so you can navigate it again, but have little spacetime portals at former dead ends where you can catch rare Pokémon like first stage starters from other regions or find rare items that have fallen into the void if you meet specific conditions. I just think that the Distortion World deserves to be more than what it ended up being to really deserve its reputation.
