know there are like nine completely unused type combos, but we need more Pokemon for existing, but rare, type combos as well.

>Empoleon is the only water/steel pokemon.
>The Pawniard line is the only dark/steel Pokemon.
>Mega Altaria is the only dragon/fairy.
>The Baltoy/Claydol line is the only ground/psychic pokemon.
>Shedinja still the only bug/ghost pokemon.
>>
>>58795745
Only Mega Altaria and Shedinja really matter for this, since they’re gimmicks.
>>
Here's one that will blow your mind: the first Rock/Dark was Tyranitar all the way back in Gen 2 and there hasn't been another one since.
>>
>>58795978
Midnight Lycanroc was right there, but they made all three forms pure Rock for some reason.

They could have done it like this:

>Midday: Either Rock/Normal or Rock/Ground
>Midnight: Rock/Dark
>Dusk: Rock/Fighting
>>
>>58795978
And the Zubat line are still the only Poison/Flying pokemon.

I don't know how they haven't managed to make a normal/steel yet. You just make a pink blob but it's wearing a bucket helmet.
>>
>>58796136
i think i'd kill for a fast special attacking rock/ground. it's such an amazing combo if you didn't rely on an inaccurate room, even if the power is lower, and 2 4x weaknesses don't matter as much if you're fast. would have to be a bit careful it doesn't end up outclassing or being a knock off nihilego
>>
>>58795745
>ice/poison
should have been Sneasler
>fire/fairy
I would want something amazing, like a Phoenix. Probably legendary pokemon.
>ground/fairy
Some type of goblin/dwarf type pokemon that like to dig for gems
>bug/dragon
Mega-Flygon. But for real, maybe just some other cool Dragonfly bug from another region
>rock/ghost
Gravestone pokemon. Houndstone should have been rock/ghost

Normal types are not really needed.

for my fakemon region I have these concepts filled out

Ghost/Normal Quark/Subatomic particle Claymation Figurine based on super symetry

Fire/Steel Apep Icarus sun snake that evolves and gets a big dyson sphere cage around its head also referencing the tower which Icarus was held in

Electric/Psychic Thunderbird totempole planarian with cut of segments forming each totem animal

Ice/Steel Split evolution; female fashion model mink and male fur trapper mink with bear trap claws

Poison/Psychic Flat Translucent Gecko with orbs on top side of limbs
>>
>>58796354
She’s gunmetal
>>
>>58796335
>already an ice type pokemon, that now evolved to live at high altitudes on snowy mountains
Should have been ice type, yeah.
>>
>>58796420
No one fucking cares
>>
>>58796147
Dubwool should have been Normal/Steel.
>>
I've wanted a poison/psychic mon since like gen 2, I always imagined it as some cool poison dart frog with hallucinogenic toxins. But no, we got uhhh... slowpoke again but this time they have a yellow spot on their heads. Lol! Also a dumb cartoon network monkey.
Fuck GF.
>>
>>58796420
Ok?
>>
>>58795752
We don't have a "real" Bug/Ground type despite that actually having some utility (I also have an idea for a Scorpion that's a bulldozer). All we have is Nincada, which is a first stage shitter that changes types on evo, and a single form of Wormadam, a Pokemon that is a gimmick inside of another gimmick inside of a third gimmick and only exists as collection filler. We still don't have a Ground/Bug that is actually meant to be used in gameplay.
>>
>>58797016
Wormadam is meant to be used don’t lie.
A badmon isn’t a fakemon
>>
>>58795745
Two fighting/steel, and one of them is a box legendary
>>
>>58797022
Nah the Burmy line is exactly like Vivillion or Unown, a million little forms meant to encourage "gotta catch em' all" autism in order to extend the games lifecycle.
>>
>>58795752

>Mantigeist
>Ghost/Bug
>Abilities: Stake Out/Scrappy
>Hidden Ability: Sharpness
HP: 73
Atk: 102
Def: 80
SpA: 55
SpD: 80
Speed: 103
>Notable moves learned: Will-o-Wisp, Slash, X-Scissor, Poltergeist, U-turn, Swords Dance, First Impression, Infestation, High Jump Kick, Taunt, Agility, Follow Me, Helping Hand, Soul Slash (signature Ghost move that gets boosted by Sharpness, 80 base power, can never miss, goes through protect)

Looks like a white praying mantis, but none of its limbs are attached to its body. They float off to its side like Hoopa Unbound's, but they're connected by blue ghost fire.

Pinsir really should have been Bug/Ground. The Pokedex mentions it burrowing underground to sleep, and New Snap shows it acting like an antlion.
>>
>>58797028
no no three, there's also ANOTHER legendary, cobalion.
>>
>>58797031
Vivillion is also a realmon
It’s got 97.5% accurate sleep power
You’re meant to use it too
>>
>>58797031
Vivillon is one of the best pokemon in singles, period. It’s one of the few non-legendaries to get use in AG by virtue of being a fast accurate sleep spammer who can also take advantage of quiver dance and an accurate hurricane.
>>
>>58795745
fire/electric, fire/water and fire/steel not being used on normal pokémon is a fucking crime
>>
>Snover line our only grass/ice
>>
>>58797505
Aside from water, almost every ice dual type is used only by a single line and/or legendaries.
>>
>>58797589
>Flying/Ice: Articuno & Delibird
>Rock/Ice: Aurorus & Hisuian Avalugg
>Electric/Ice: Arctozolt & Rotom Frost
>Dragon/Ice: Kyurem & Baxcalibur
>Psychic/Ice: Jynx,Mr.Rime & Calyrex
>>
>>58797606
Please understand.
He considers regional forms (and rotom) legendaries
>>
>>58796253
Bug/Dragon for Flygon would make a better regional form than mega
Its a massive downgrade from Ground/Dragon
>>
>>58796253
>Dragonfly
Only the English speaking media calls it Dragonfly. It has no correlation to dragon in the rest of the world.
>>
>>58797606
Articuno and Kyurem are legendary, are they not? So that leaves a whole three other combinations with 2+ non-legendary pokemon.
>>
>>58796136
rock/ground feels extremely common, but actually there's only 2 fully evolved ones kek
>>
>>58797813
Probably because there are geodudes and onixes in every single cave.
>>
>>58797649
The only languages that matter are japanese and english, and all the japs have to learn english in school anyways
>>
>>58797087
Yeah
>>
>>58797655
kyurem is a pseudo, stupid
>>
The unused types shouldn't be done for the sake of it, they need to actually have a purpose, and I think they should be reserved for legendaries as well as limited to two per gen, at least
>Fire/Fairy
>Ice/Poison
>Rock/Ghost
>Bug/Dragon
>Ground/Fairy
Those five seem unique enough that they can't be squandered with regular Pokemon initially, and whatever dual-typings are already done should be explored with a different twist.

>>58797087
All those fighting moves it had in Gen IV made me think it should have had a Fighting/Bug-type in Gen II to contrast Heracross, or at least got an evolution that made it that type, though its stats aren't horrible and Mold Breaker was a beast back then, dunno about now.

As much as I don't care for them, a regional Pinsir that's Fighting/Bug could work well.

And keep in mind that Ground/Rock and Rock/Ground are considered different typings even if they function exactly the same.
>>
>>58798571

>>
>>58798586
>No argument
>>
>fire/water is only on a single legendary
>fire/electric is only on a single alternate form
>fire/steel is only on a single legendary
>fire/ice is only on a single alternate regional form
>fire/grass is only on a single line
>fire/normal is only on a single line
>fire/ground is only on a single line plus a mega
>fire/poison is only on a single line plus an alternate
>fire/fairy hasn’t been used at all
I wonder why they’re so stingy with fire dual-types, especially in comparison with water/grass
>>
>>58798634
Fire is a pretty rare type in general. Most gens only have two non-starter and non-legendary Fire-type evolution lines.
>>
>>58798634
Water and grass are common natural elements found in abundance. Fire isn’t.

Hey I remember our conversation from >>58794806 >>58794988
Bulbapedia has a good page showing all type combinations and their abundance: https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/List_of_type_combinations_by_abundance#All_type_combinations_and_their_abundance
Sort the last column by Total. There are 81 combinations with three or less Pokemon total. Many of the 3's are single families, like Pawniard/Bisharp/Kingambit for Dark/Steel.
Really surprising that Tyranitar is the only Rock/Dark Pokemon. You would think with so many Pokemon exclusive to dark caves, we would see more of them. Or, you know, Midnight Lycanroc.

>Poison/Normal (Shroodle and Grafaiai)
>Poison/Steel (Varoom and Revavroom)
>Ground/Fighting (Great Tusk)
>Fairy/Fighting (Iron Valiant)

It also introduced Pokémon with typings previously exclusive to legends/UBs/mythicals
>Rock/Poison (Glimmet and Glimmora, previously exclusive to Nihilego)
>Fighting/Ghost (Annihilape, previously exclusive to Marshadow)

>>58796253

Argument literally makes no sense.
Midnight probably would have been worse with Rock/Dark considering how bad its stats are.
One Rock/Dark being bad does not mean all others are in relation.
>>
>>58795745
I want more fighting/ice, but I think GF knows how potent that type is. Probably a type that'll remain rare, but at least we got the crab mega I guess

>>58808739

>>
>>58808739
>You do realise how many "kicking the dog" jokes this would've resulted in?
nobody cares and nobody really would have participated. People are too apathetic (see: my previous point) to bother with obvious, exploitable flaws. Here, a stupid and obvious example: Super Mario Maker came out on 9/11/2015. I fully expected it to be filled with 9/11 jokes and cause a lot of backlash and news articles, but no, not a peep. People have not cared about any "obvious flaws/issues" for a long time now.
>>
>>58795745
The other day I had the idea of a Bug/Ghost type whose super-fun gimmick would be being the absolute lightest Pokemon because it's a two-dimensional being in a three-dimensional world (a joke about squashing bugs).
