If you were actually living in the pokemon world, you would not be a pokemon trainer at all. You would not even have a full team of 6 pokemon.
Most of you would be no different from the bug trainers or the rattata trainers you see on the early routes. You would never catch a Lucario or a Dragonite. At best you might, maybe, catch a Geodude. But even that is a stretch.

The cold hard truth is that 99% of people here would work a wagie job, have a shitmon and watch pokemon battles or pokemon streamers/vtubers on the TV. No you can't have an Eevee because they are extremely rare. And no you would not be able to have a Pikachu because it would just be too much of a hassle to train.
>>
>>58801513
it would still be a better life than any of us live regularly. the Pokemon world is a utopia even for average joes

Though what I dislike about the later anime episodes is how they trivialized formerly rare types like Dragonite an such. Now an average Joe may have a Dragonite or a Salamence (I recall Ash casually defeating a Sally with some shitmon on his team at the beginning of Journeys). Pokemon used to be much rarer and mysterious back in the day.

It would be hell as a child in that world. I'm supposed to have the skills and knowledge to survive on my own from age 10, but there's only one school in the whole region and all they teach you about is cockfighting. I'm probably going to get kidnapped by a fucking balloon at this rate.

Im 6'4" 220 lbs physically fit. Most pokemon you encounter especially near civilisation like a town dont pose much of a threat even to an adolescent much to myself. Youd have to be careful not to hurt them badly in reality desu prior to catching. There's a handful which would be a danger, and you'd be safer with a weapon in a group. But youre extremely unlikely to encounter anything superhuman level.

In otherwords itd be a piece of piss to capture a team of Pokémon quickly and have protection. Itd just be incredibly grindy if it works like the game and you have a place to live in town and aren't a nomad venturing out for stronger pokemon battles.

I live in a woodsy area so I might see skwovets and zigzaggoons. If I'm lucky I might even see a deerling. (Though I'm a bit fucked if its sawsbuck parents are around. There also might be some poliwags or tympole in the creek behind my house. Pikachu and by an extension pachirisu are probably rare but they'd probably be out there. Maybe Ekans too with all the garden snakes I see. Theres a also a ton of stray cats so maybe purrloins and meowths too. And lets throw in some beedrill for good measure
>>
>>58801632
I live in the city so I'd see Scraggys everywhere.
>>
If I gave my lopunny a pokeball and she threw it and caught a pokemon, is it my pokemon or my lopunny's pokemon? Im guessing neither really, whoever holds the pokeball after right? Like you could steal a habitated pokeball and still be able to use it realistically, but its more like well your dog doesnt recognize a stranger and won't listen to them. So in otherwords its whoever the pokemon is most used to being around and normalized against

Im genuinely jealous. Slowpoke would be such a chill Pokémon to have. It does everything so slowly it probably doesn't eat much. You also probably dont have to worry about it getting into places it shouldn't. You could probably go out of town and just leave a food dish for Slowpoke and he won't even notice you were gone. Also it can learn Teleport meaning you could potentially save thousands on commutes.

>there's no inherent virtue in being a hard worker. Most people in the world are hard workers and their lives are shit until they die
True. But it also depends on what you're working towards. Sure, if you work your ass of at a facotry, you'll only be rewarded with a few hundreds bucks more on top of the wage after years if at all and keep getting the same kind of work. OR you could work hard towards getting some kind of good degree and that would eventually actually make a bigger difference.

I'd still have loved raising my Pidgey with the goal of someday making him a Pidgeot. I still remember the day I found a nest of rolly-pill bug pincher things, and know I would have caught a Venipede.
And Pokemon Go taught me I live in a 'rare' fairy biome where we'd be plagued with Clefairy line... and I love Cleffa.
My main dream would be to find a Larvitar and raise it into a Tyranitar, even though I know they're a handful and I'd never get it enough experience.
My never-ever-in-my-dreams dream would be to find and catch a Dratini, proving to myself they're not just a myth and enjoying their adorable little squiggly asses while I feed it bacon and Goldfish.

But how many people can afford to be trainers? (How many people could afford to be, say, fulltime shark divers IRL?) How does Ash even finance his travels? Is his mom a millionaire or are these types of travels state sponsored? Are they financed by the league?

Of course, if only 10% or so of the poke world's population are trainers (with or without additional job) in the first place, the actual distributed would be a skewed gaussian.

Money in the pokemon world is equivalent to yen, everything is cheap as shit. Anyone with a decent paying job could either load up on Ultra Balls and go out and catch whatever they want, or just outright go to a Game Corner or Safari Zone and effectively buy a rare pokemon
>>
>>58801513
Of course. Wrangling and taking care of multiple animalistic and some even more alien monsters would be hard work and not everyone would be up for the task in a ’realistic’ scenario. Regrettably the video games will never move in the direction of depicting this sort of work in a realistic fashion because the prevailing trends of the video game industry mandate everything become easier, simple and more streamlined for appealing to the largest possible audience which leads to the player character being a prodigy for whom everything is easy, and the rest of the franchise and its depictions of the fictional world trickle down from there.

Okay, lets run with this hypothetical.
You're in the pokemon world, and you're just as big of a loser there as you are in real life. What are the things standing in the way of you becoming a pokemon trainer?

>catching pokemon
Pokeballs cost $2, easily obtainable by someone wageslaving or on neetbux.
Pokemon are everywhere. In cities, towns, suburbs, rural areas, forests, beaches, meadows, farms, backyards, sewers, abandoned buildings, rooftops, mountains, underground, in rivers, they'd be everywhere.
There are plenty of weak pokemon that can be caught without battling at all.
You can buy pokemon. That ultra rare mon that you want can probably be ordered off of ebay or some specialty breeder site. Eevee and other desirable pokemon would probably be sold at petstores.
Or you get one off a professor if you can foster connections.
So, there's nothing stopping anyone from acquiring a pokemon

>training pokemon
Information on training pokemon would be all over the internet for free. There would be youtube guides and video series of trainers raising their pokemon. There would be tv shows, and books, and in-person lessons.
There are schools that teach people everything there is to know about pokemon.
So there's nothing stopping anyone from training up their pokemon

>life
Even the largest of pokemon will chill in a ball that can shrink to the size of a marble, so keeping them in your house or while you're at work/school isn't a problem.
Need time to catch and train? Do it after work or on the weekends. Extra easy if you're unemployed.
Can't get strong pokemon? Catch weak pokemon, train them up, use those to catch stronger pokemon, then train those up. Exactly what we do in the games .
Travel wouldn't be much of an issue. Need to go across the country to challenge a gym? Just take a train or a bus.
So life wouldn't get in the way

I don't see any reason that someone couldn't become a fully fledged pokemon trainer if that was their dream. I reject your baseless statements.
