OP here, i just went on the literal basis of "newer", ie. more new than old. the first four gens are closer to the beginning of the series - more old than new - and the latter four are closer to the present day - more new than old. unova sits in the middle, so its neither more old nor new.

i went with the simplest, most literal definition i could to try and avoid genwarring. please just stick to posting cool mons

The hooves are stupid. Also, IIRC, they literally have a stock sound for their cry. It's not that I hate the concept, I love Nightmare Rarity, but the excution in this case is mediocre.

1. I never said the orientation was the problem.
2. Keldeo also has backward hooves and nobody cares.
3. Spectrier is clearly just a ghostly horse with nothing else going on. Again, it was such a rush job that they couldn't even bother making a cry for it.
