As I got older, I appreciated gen 5 more. Back then I thought it was a poorly done attempt at softrebooting the franchise, but now I appreciate more how they tried to go deeper into the lore and world building of pokemon, something they, by large, gave up on after it sold less than they wanted.

I personally think BW was great but flawed, and B2W2 was an unnecessary compromise that was extremely disappointing in the long run.
>>58841809It has notable flaws such as being the first straight line region that also feels like a straight line and the story is way too overbearing for how repetitive it is. I don't think it's much different from the rest of the series in quality and I also heavily dislike the heavy use of sprite scaling and tweening which just don't look good at such low resolution, though I'd chalk that up to preference rather than an actual flaw.

I replayed it and found it kinda mid tbqh, the pokedex is too small.
