Good, bad or indifferent (because they were not perfect, no one is arguing that you strawmanning retard fucks), RBG were honest in a way that later Pokémon corpo-mules simply can never be. They won the world, and were chained from that point on.

Pokemon, and by that I mostly mean the suits that run it, is utterly afraid of really shaking their historically successful formula.
