These games essentially are additional Battle Facilities for their respective gens. So saying that gen 1 and 2 didn't have Battle Facilities is wrong - the Stadium games were their Battle Facilities. And gen 3 and 4 had these games on top of the Battle Frontiers. Then the gen 3 console games came with their own adventure modes on top of that. If you consider the impact of the DLC when rating the new generations, then I think it's fair to consider the impact of the console games when rating the older generations; those console games were essentially DLC for the handheld games.
