I mean the new game pretty much confirms Megas are just Pokemon getting radiation poisoning from a giant bioweapon. Which actually matches with the fucked up mega dex entries.
Considering Megas are a worsening epidemic and most regional forms are natural occurrences, that actually makes sense.
Megas are better. Regional forms are still nostalgiabaiting but they're just being insincere about it. Mega at least has the respect to be like "here is your favorite pokemon, Nostalgiafag but we've made it stronger."
