toss up between ribbon master or the bulbapedia forums. go look at the bulbapedia forums right now. i guarantee all the threads about shipping, roleplay, the ashnime, lore headcanons, or whatever other bullshit are all super active and have recent replies, and the entire section for playing the fucking games (which is halfway down the fucking page by default) has its most recent replies from days ago. i wouldnt mind just ignoring all the fandom-y shit i dont care for, but its impossible to talk about playing pokemon because literally no one else there is interested in doing so

I use discord a lot and it's very miss the majority of the time.Over like 8 years there's only a single server I've been an active part of for the entire time, much less longer than 1-2 yearsPublic servers are generally just garbage and private server are mostly IRL friend groups that die after the FOTM game stops being interesting or massive circlejerks that always have drama brewing over inane shitIn most the semi-open servers I browse I've seen nothing but nintendo bandwagon hate. Which can be understandable but it's usually presented in ways I can't comprehendOne guy in particular kept going on for months about how he wouldn't buy ZA and kept being snarky and smug about the hype. After it came out and a few users were talking about enjoying it he bought the game anyways and proceeded to nitpick at everything.4chan has the deranged shitposts but I enjoy the candid banter more than anything. When people have accounts and have to respect server rules and shit it lets people get away with being just a little bit annoying about everything.35+ year old men critiquing a casual monster catching game gets old and any polite attempts to get them to shut the fuck up get ignored with their head being so far up their own ass.Also worth noting that you can just scroll past pokefuckers here. Trying to discuss pokemon in a server can be painful when there's that confused guy who can't stop mentioning how gross it is that people want to fuck gardevoir and lopunny or an eevee while making it clear that he can't stop thinking about it himself.
