>>58854914It's probably yet another of those app targeted at children to give them adhd and an addiction to a brand, except the real audience will be manchildren as usual
>>58854914>>58854932They’re splitting the fan stuff into a separate event from the purely competitive stuff at worlds this year. ThatMs what this is, the fan zone for 30 year old fans and rich children.

Leaks from event staff about US immigration enforcement being a real issue for XP and Worlds. Waiting to see if it resolves, or if they have no choice but to cancel or find a last minute venue in another country

>>58855241nintendo should have gotten into some form of OS at some point already. I personally think a serious Nintendo-branded smartphone would have been supremely successful, and I've thought that since like 2010. They would have a new captive userbase and have ludicrously easy marketing: just put a goddamn A and B button on it and people would eat that shit up. Not even a gimmick considering app-specific buttons would be objectively useful anyway.
>>58855348Gaming brands have traditionally done very poorly when transitioning into lifestyle tech brands. The avid gamer, the type of person to purchase a product like that, is still too far removed from the general consumer for a move like that to be lucrative. You could have a million diehard tendies buying the latest wii phone on launch day and it still wouldnt make up for the nonexistent interest of from everyone else
>>58855034it's funny how aside from the retarded boasting, the orange man hasn't done literally anything different to previous presidents (except actually deposing a dictator in an overnight operation rather than an expensive, bloody years long war). But these faggots only care about optics, so they freak out at the retarded boasting.
>>58855374the major benefit is that nintendo has whales as diehard fans and they wouldn't need a very large market share in order to benefit from the endeavor. Plus, they already had tons of experience with hardware and software manufacturing, including operating system design as well, so they only needed to net maybe 1% of the market in order to profit off of it enough to make it worthwhile. Remember that a brand with a similar walled-garden appeal-to-whales ethos, Apple, only makes up about 20% of the smartphone market. And they have an even smaller grip on the OS market, at roughly 5.5%. Nintendo getting just an inch of that would be very lucrative for them. Of course I'm sure there are things I'm not considering, including the actual risk of investment itself, but I still believe it would have been feasible at the very least.
