I dare you to not make a single joke or post about escalation or cultivation or MC powers this entire thread.
>>58856213If you don't kowtow before this grandaddy, I will fly my dragonite through the Unova Trade Center
>>58856197>What parts do you find yourself skipping over when reading or writingPokemon battles, I'm more into character interaction.
>>58856213Pidgey-sama thinks you're a faggot but alright, guns powered by type gems.No powers No auraNo ESCALATION Just technology
>>58856197>What parts do you find yourself skipping over when reading or writingFluff dialogue between humans and fluff battles.I'll be honest gang, I skimmed through 9/10 times whenever Silver was talking or battling with someone in the Color Gang. Same with filler characters who only existed to get face smacked by Silver, like the biker gang and whoever those fuckwits at the Silver Conference were.If it's something I can already know without reading then I just can't be bothered, y'know?
>>58856104KH may look at silly at first glance, but it takes itself completely seriously. It's earnest, and charming for that.Too bad such a simple concept is impossible to comprehend for the current irony-poisoned generation.
>>58856213This thread gonna die in 12 hours then! Okay not really, but in all seriousness I think a decent amount of thread memes are subtle ways of bumping thread.
>>58856213There's not much we can talk about >Canon is trash and nobody cares >SI stuff that is actually good and not some edgy power fantasy is rare>Some seethe about OCs>Any anime mention summons some autist > out black jew friend And ZA didn't help revive interest in Pokémon fanfics that have been dying since what, Unova?
>>58856234>writes/reads pokefic>skips over pokemon battles
>>58856213Are those topics locked behind a tier 4 Trainer Loicense? Or are they things only a Dexholder would be knowledgable of
I utterly despise most SB Pokemon SI's, I hate how they write, I hate how they make "drama", I hate how they do these parasite games or minmax with no room for anything interesting, I hate how they have this whole holier than thou attitude, I hate they insert useless fucking identity politics from our world and I hate when they do everything except being a Pokemon fanfiction
>>58856438Provide examples.
Any good gagfics?
>>58856442Nta but Reset Bloodlines was born in SB and it has a lot of the author's political view and if you tell him that he deletes your review
>>58856442nta butNew NormalHard EnoughSavage Trainer
>>58856438>and I hate when they do everything except being a Pokemon fanfictionBut what exactly is a Pokémon fanfic? A glorified novelization but edgy? Endless battles? Stories where the main focus is exploration and bonds between a trainer and their team is basically non-existent and sexual tension like nutriman's shouldn't count.
>>58856581>Stories where the main focus is exploration and bonds between a trainer and their team is basically non-existentThat's one of the problems, yes
Say writefags, how'd you get your fic idea? Did it just come from nowhere?
>>58856860My fic is just a mix-and-match of all the media I like
>>58856234Good pokemon battles are character interaction.
>>58856860My writing is almost always 'random inspiration for random shit that I crack out in one sitting like a man possessed who needs the thoughts out of his head'. Which is probably why I can vibe with CC so well. But I've evidently gotten good at that kind of story because people seem to like them. The other form is 'My autism demands tribute' in the form of intended longer writing projects that go nowhere past a chapter or two. Which I tried to break with Crystal Light, but its been a year since I've written a new chapter. Got half of one cranked out, but I just haven't sat down to actually finish it. Actually, enough waffling. I can't write right now but I can at least outline the remainder of the chapter today.
>>58856933>I can at least outline the remainder of the chapter todayI believe in you FF1anon! I had a long running story I took a 6+ month hiatus on and still ended up completing it, so all hope isn’t lost.>>58856860>PoPTIt was a number of things, honestly. Partially I wanted to do an Isekai that “did it right” and wasn’t just shameless power fantasy (and then I found a poorly written, self-indulgent POS story that made me decide to basically give the middle finger to shallow SI/Isekai/self-indulgent crap). But it also came out of playing way too much Legends Arceus at a point (which is why there are so many Legends Arceus elements, and the skeleton of the story largely resembles that). I also wished there were more factions to come in conflict with in LA and got inspired by what that would look like. And the third part was I wrote a terrible fetish fic that took place in Po Town and while writing it, I realized there was a central theme to Po Town/Team Skull that really stuck with me, and I knew there was a story there. So when I lined up Po Town and Team Skull with Jubilife Village and Galaxy Team as similar places and roles thematically and physically in the setting, a relatively easy way to Isekai the protagonist, and that Isekai’ing as an evil team grunt wouldn’t be a traditional “everything’s going to be smooth sailing for my protagonist,” things really took off. I really just had to flesh out the world that story took place in. Which as a sufferer of chronic world-building disease was the easiest part. It took a while for me to nail the endgame antagonist but once it hit me it just became a logistical issue, as odd as that sounds
>finally reading Vermillion PD>descriptions and conversations read a lot like the AI fetish porn I was just reading before handNow obviously I've got recency bias so I'm going to keep reading, but the feeling grew the further I read so I had to say something. I'm honestly hoping I'm just being paranoid and VPDanon just has a very mechanical writing style.
>>58856860Way back in the day I took part in a Pokemon forum RP, and created its villain. The RP died and it never got far enough for the villain to get used, so ever since they've been kicking around in the back of my head. Vague ideas on the fic itself crossed my mind over the years until I decided to sit down and make it, and spent a few months properly fleshing out the MC and plot.
>>58856438best part of political fics is when they talk to this guy completely serious
>>58856197Do any of you guys use AI to help with your writing? I’m committing to not having any AI written paragraphs in my upcoming fic (except for maybe just describing Mega Evolution transformation sequences), but I asked it to evaluate the plausibility of a scene and a sequence of events leading up to it, and I asked it to draw upon both real world examples and Pokemon logic to evaluate it, and it told me that my scene was highly plausible. Is this a bad idea?
>>58856197>Anabel Her SM self was popular for a while then died off with very few caring about her, and only as a Looker ship. Will the same happen to Emma?
>>58857429Yes, AI feeds your biases more than it follows actual real logic. Just ask another human being or do the research yourself.
>>58857429I will hold no animosity towards the use of ai, though I would perhaps question if the words used are really yours. As for the method of practice, that is fine, though maybe read examples of other fivs maybe? (Though you're probably trying to save time, which is fair. We don't have forever.)
>>58857432Emma's ass stands out, so she has more generic staying power.
>>58857429>except for maybe just describing Mega Evolution transformation sequencesWhy bother using AI for just one type of scene? If you’re writing everything else manually, might as well write those transformation sequences by hand as well.
>>58857141From my reading I got the I.pression that the mechanical prose is Rookie's rigid point of view.
>>58856581>>58856604starting to feel like a goddamn shill, but TLTD, once againI think its been overlooked because its a quest, but nah, shits higher quality than most other fics I've read regardless of setting
>>58857437>>58857444I find that previous attempts to integrate AI further into my writing conflicted with my prose, and that most of the time I would just edit the AI paragraph to mix in a fraction of the output with what I had already written prior (which I inputted asking the AI to enhance). So I’ve just concluded that there’s not really a use for it very often. However, when I fed it a Mega transformation sequence I wrote, I did legitimately like the output more than what I had originally written, so I may make an exception for that.
>>58857433>Just ask another humanDon't ask me the impossible
>>58856197Say, if I drink 30 bottles of Protein do I turn into a superhuman?
>>58857429Nope. I've played with AI before and I find it inevitably falls in a repetitive and boring pattern with its descriptions, everything feels homogenous and bland even if it slips in a fancy word sometimes. Not to be arrogant but I frankly am just a better writer than what it puts out, and I have more fun writing for myself regardless.
>>58856860I don't know why but one day I had the funny idea to write some sort of one-shot to parody/play the usual PMD intro, where after the personality test the human mc gets turned into a Pokémon.I thought, what if numerous people got sent into one single body and they aren't even in control (Corpus is in charge but like he is essentially a toddler, he knows jack shit) and the being that willed the human into the Pokémon world in the first place fucked up and now the world has to suffer an eldritch toddler because lil' bro just exists and causes issues. It was supposed to be a one-shot and good natured fun. Then I, I don't know, but it went too far and I see now the errors of winging it. I should've had a more concrete plans. i know where it's going, but dang yo, why did I do this to my first fic?>>58856933>Which is probably why I can vibe with CC so well.:)PokeNormal soon. I will be there!... Unless that heartless IMOdemon releases another chapter like a sneaky trickster >:(
>>58857835>Unless that heartless IMOdemon releases another chapter like a sneaky trickster >:(You should be good, I've got a lot of work to do on the next chapter, only have the outline so far, plus the title: The Haunting of Ferris Chateau
>>58856860I wrote a few chapters of a very sincere self-insert isekai slop where everything just worked out for the protagonist. I did this about three or four times and never really liked any of them. Then I watched Goodfellas and I knew what to do.
>>58857842Yeah I know, i hope that shit isn't iritating to read again and again. Also, Hell naw, I ain't reading that bait spoiler you got there! Yeah, I see your fishing rod in your clawed demiurge hands, just waiting to reel an innocent reader like me. Demon Lord you are....One question, though, because my brain is having skill isue trying to comprehend Bounvialle's age. I just don't understand the math. What am I missing?
>>58857917>Bounvialle's age.Oh, sorry. That was just a joke about her age, Vi's the type who tells people she turns the same age every year. She's in her early forties.
>>58857958>Tfw I can't even tell what a joke is.It is OVER for me, owari da, c'est fini! Het is voorbij voor mij!
You guys are way too whiny.
>>58857998Give an example.
>>58857998Yeah and you're whining about it so you will fit right in.
>>58857835This may be a bitter pill to swallow, but starting completely anew with the same premise is really freeing. My first long form story was terrible and ran into a bunch of issues. Ended up running it back for some reason and improved upon a lot of things (the foundation was really flimsy though so it wasn’t too great). Helped me understand scope and what not to do so it was really helpful.
>>58858083Thank you. I'll take it into consideration.
>>58857835Don't forget what site you're posting on lil man
>>58857998Well, I think we aren't whiny enough
Is this true?
>>58858518Not this shit again.No. No matter how hard Pokemon try, they'll always be humanity's bitches.
>>58858522>Tr*shnime fanficPost discarded.
>>58857429Jesus Christ man this is like the fifth time you've asked and gone about this.If you want us to use AI this fucking badly at least write us a guide or something instead of this wishy washy wink wink bullshit where we are the ones who have to figure out everything when it's you who should be spoonfeeding us.Fucking hell. Fucking lazy niggers can't even get on their asses to actually try to make people interested on the crap they're trying to make us try.
>>58858532It really is getting pathetic. The generation of humans that are rotting their brains by delegating to AI aren't even supposed to be adults yet, so why are we already getting helpless retards like this? Surely he should be able to figure this out himself.

>>58858720Stop bitching about writing and tools for writing and gen yourself a story lil bro
I want to write a Pokemon fics and I have experience writing a short story about Rouge the Bat in the past but I worry that my writing level (I still get confused about grammar) isn't up the par to post whatever I come up with. What would you all suggest I do to get my writing skills up to a passable level? My first fic was horrible and very short but I did get compliments on being able to capture the feelings of the characters very well.
>>58858760The best way to get better, especially with grammar, is just to read, write, and get feedback.
>>58858580>Early installment weirdnessmore like that was the original vision that was completely lost by the newfags who took over in gen 3
>>58858788Newfags such as Masuda and Suigmori who were there in the beginning?
>>58858760I'll let you in on a secret, anon: People have no fucking standards.Unless it's 3rd grade-tier babbles or full on ESL full of bad grammar people for the most part will not care and will keep reading as long as it is mildly interesting and there's a half-decent hook or set-up.And here's another secret: Being able to post updates consistently >>>>>>>> writing well.Fanfiction readers are people who are ALWAYS starving and someone who can consistently provide them with food will ALWAYS be hailed as literal Gods.If you can write and post consistently consistently you've won at life.
>>58858834>People have no fucking standards. This applies to the games too btw, it's common knowledge that Pokémon fans have no standards
>>58858532If you think that everyone who asks about AI usage is the same person I don't know what to tell you except "take your meds". AI is THE hot button issue when it comes to artistic spaces in the current year and you shouldn't be surprised by authors wanting to integrate it into their writing process given the fact that>>58858834The average fanfiction reader unironically prioritizes quantity over quality and probably wouldn't be able to even tell the difference if you remove all the em dashes. And for the record I never suggested that AI should be used as a substitute, just as a tool. I haven't looked at this place in weeks and I asked a simple question. >>58858882Sugimori and Masuda were founding members of Game Freak alongside Tajiri, Sugimori drew and iterated on just about everything including all the original Capsule Mon concepts, and Masuda had to reboot and direct Gold and Silver after Tajiri bailed midway through development after his "vision" stalled hard.
>>58858760Just say fuck it and write. It's really not that big a deal if your story sucks. You should be more concerned with why you are writing and what your goals for doing so are.

>>58858904then why did it get so pussified in gen 3 and add shit like gardevoir? I don't believe Masuda can make a story that isn't gay so he probably used the story Tajiri started. either way the roles changed by gen 3 completely and a lot of other shit did. Tajiri was in charge at the beginning and he had the original vision which was forgotten.

>>58858947you're retarded and saying completely irrelevant bullshit now. the whole point of my posts is that early installment weirdness isn't a thing and it changed because they lost the main person with the vision being heavily involved in the games and directing them. you are right that becoming an international phenomena effected this too but that's not early installment "weirdness" it just changed from the original vision and had different and more people working on different things. I never said anything about the cutesy designs and no nidoqueen wasn't a waifu pokemon just because you wanted to fuck it which is very very fucking odd and not intended. that's like saying diglett is a waifu pokemon because someone wants to fuck it.>>58858930yeah this would have been better and more inline with the vision but losing the plot aka later installment retardation is why it changed. then in gen 4 they started writing fucking retarded shit like pokemon fucking humans etc. it's like translating the same sentence and retranslating it through 20 different languages except with the vibe and universe of pokemon.

>>58858874(>>58858760) hereMy idea can be boiled down to "Rayquaza goes missing from the world before the events of Emerald and is reborn as an amnesiac girl in a similar world". There's more to it than that but that's the most simple way to explain it.The inspirations are: - Pokemon Heroes (Pokemon into human)https://youtu.be/7VtGz0r4FIw- Princess Maker series, otome games and 90s/2000s nakige - Chrono Cross (Atmosphere, Sentimentality and Timeline/Multiple Universe Shenanigans)https://youtu.be/Gfsb_oha40ghttps://youtu.be/EOKrQ6Lf4SU?t=127- JJBA parts 7 to 9https://youtu.be/yJkGZCor2go- Seraphic Blue https://youtu.be/KJ6Q838pTEg- RPGs with romance elements like Persona 3 Portable (Female Route) and Fire Emblem: Awakeninghttps://youtu.be/jFQhMBIizWQhttps://youtu.be/RxO74ibdal0I have a preference for sentimental romance stories that don't always end happily and I've had this premise floating in my head for years.

>>58859447I didn't want to spoil the whole thing and some ideas are underdeveloped (like who turned her into a person and why) but I basically had the idea that she would travel an alternative Hoenn and help people until she realizes her true identity. She may begin to love the people she meets but she cannot stay with them because she is a Pokemon with a duty to protect Hoenn. The characters aside from Rayquaza (Let's call her Umina for now) are remixed, combined and gender-swapped just like in JJBA's recent parts.Tentative Characters:- "Umina" is a mysterious girl with unusual abilities. She was found passed out in a forest and nursed back to health by a female Professor and her sons. She has no recollection of the past but when she closes her eyes to sleep she has visions of the sky. I think normal animals belong in the pokemon setting! I think they'd be super strong physically, even more so than pokehumans, which would explain why they still survive! Other than predators, which naturally get hunted down and genocided by posse's of wild pokemon!Something something, plantlife would die without small insects!
>>58859762I like when they're included but survive mostly via filling niches mons don't, and mons deliberately keep them alive.a lot of things are possible setting wise once you accept every pokemon is sapient even if theres a communication barrier
>>58859053Why do I never see anyone write fanfic about Worm's sequel? Is it not as fun, or people haven't read it?
>>58859762>plantlife would die without small insects!Huh. This makes me theorize that in the pokemon settings without real world animals the difference is made up by grass type pokemon.
>>58859838To my knowledge, Ward doesn't have the same worldbuilding that Worm had because it was essentially a big reset inuniverse.Taylor is also a way more flexible protagonist to work with compared to Vicky. Less baggage and history to work with and easier to set up a power fantasy.I think most people just treat Ward like it's another post Golden Morning au fanfic.
>>58859838neither are "fun", and theres a surprising number of worm fanfic authors who HAVEN'T READ THE ORIGINALNo it just isn't as flexible a setting, simple as. Its not about quality either, because Worms setting is nonsense. Canonically held together with duct tape by a walking deus ex machina. But above all its FLEXIBLE.I've seen authors use concepts and things introduced in Ward, but an actual "this is set in Ward" fic is vanishingly rare. The only Worm related thing I like is something ya'll would hate because it plays on audience perception and expectations Hard. I enjoy weird experimental shit like that.

The one thing I enjoyed the most from Worm was the Slaughterhouse 9, and not even necessarily what was portrayed in canon but how they've been written in different fanfics. Jack Slash in particular and his ability to 'cheat' are very interesting to me. I've been trying to think of a way to write a Pokémon villain similar to him, someone not very powerful in the grand scheme of things, but who not only survives among the top players but thrives among them and makes them piss their pants in fear. Maybe some kind of psychic-empath that can dismantle strategies and poke weaknesses through intuition, or something similar. A villain with justified plot armor, essentially. I understand he was written to be a Joker expy
>>58860147It's simple. The people that mostly consume fanfics or works develop unrealistic exceptions or ideals and subsequently are disappointed when they delve into the original material and find that it's not like that at all.
>>58860221>someone not very powerful in the grand scheme of thingsmost pokemon villains are like that, they have to misdirect champions and such so they don't get dickflattened>who not only survives among the top players but thrives among them and makes them piss their pants in fearrealistically, how would you do this?what can make hardened experienced trainers piss their pants?this isn't a gotcha, genuinely curious>Maybe some kind of psychic-empath that can dismantle strategies and poke weaknesses through intuition, or something similar.not a bad idea, I've seen a protagonist like thatbut to write a villain like that, you really gotta be smarter than the audience; to abuse foreshadowing so it IS something that can be put together beforehandasspulls just piss everyone off, unless you're the one doing the asspulling

He changed specializations when he abandoned the gym in order to keep people from realizing who he was.The second is that Giovanni was the Gym Leader of Celadon City and Erika was for Viridian City. Being the leader of the second biggest city in Kanto was bad for staying out of the public eye. Erika, who was giving out the leaf like Earth Badge in the foresty Viridian city, jumped at the chance to move to the glamorous big city. Erika took over in Celadon, and Giovanni never even showed up in Viridian which is why nobody knew who he was.

>>58860434>Wonka's family is full of steel and poison experts to serve as a parallel between his love of chocolate and his father being a dentist? You're talking like there are no dentists in Pokemon
>>58860559The way I see it isn't as universal as that. Arceus itself is Arceus, but something like Ho-oh's instincts are by nature attuned to the greater will of Arceus, and they act in complementary ways. Something like the Swords of Justice, or Celebi, may or may not be aware of Arceus, but unlike the great guardian Beasts of the Pokemon world are not influenced directly by Arceus's will. And Arceus does not alter or twist the minds and hearts of humans, because it wishes to see what they will choose for themselves, and what stories they will create.

>>58857141to be clear, it did start out with me just messing around with an ai text adventure thing. that's what inspired me to make the fic. I had no plans before to ever make a fic or even thought about doing it before because I don't really do this, actually the main thing I work on day-to-day is a game I'm making. so I was just messing around and taking a break one day when I messed with that text adventure AI.I mentioned this in an earlier thread and said I was making a fic because I was inspired by an ai text adventure, but I never made a post blatantly saying "I used AI to help with Vermilion PD" because I actually wanted to see if anyone thought it sounded like AI after I was done, even though I started talking about VPD shortly after in the same thread, so some may have connected it if they were reading that thread. but honestly it was all completely different than the final story, including how it was written and format, and by the end I spent around at least 2 weeks like 10+ hours a day (because I wanted to get it done asap and get back to working on my game) turning it into a fic, editing, changing a lot, adding way more, fixing all of the inconsistencies, nonsensical things, and horrible AI writing overall. even on New Years I didn't go to a party because I wanted to get it done and kept editing nonstop. I'm pretty sure I changed literally every sentence and how every paragraph was structured and definitely added way more. the original text adventure I was doing was something like 30 mins of just messing around and mostly my own ideas to begin with besides what AI responded with, then the fic was probably (I'm guessing, didn't actually keep track) around 110 hours of writing/changing/editing all day which was way more than I expected when I decided to make it a fic, but I didn't want to stop until it was something I was basically satisfied with.
>>58860683>(continued)then I would use AI to make sure everything was grammatically correct or I repeated too many words or just to see what it suggested for how something was written and things like that (which is probably a bad habit because I got paranoid that something was written "wrong" a lot and had to check with AI just to see what it would say). but really when AI suggested stuff or wanted to change something it was 99% garbage and I had to really explain and push it in a certain direction a lot for every little thing and being extremely detailed to get something I wanted exactly. really it was almost an experiment from the beginning to see what I could get by continuing to work with AI if I really tried hard to work with it and really heavily guided it as opposed to taking whatever it spit out, because then it would have been complete garbage judging by almost everything it gave me. I've always been told I was good at writing by teachers and complimented on it in school, but it's been a long time since I've written anything and it's definitely not like I believe I'm some impressive author myself or anything. I actually never even actually tried to make a story, the closest I got was literally some shitpost story I made as a kid that was terrible on purpose because it was funny (which I was thinking would be funny to do again some time but I dunno). I know i don't write like an idiot if I try, but I don't have an ego about it or anything I'm trying to prove really. and I think I have a decent idea about when something is written badly, and was trying to make it pretty good.
>>58860688>(continued)anyway it got to the point where I basically hit my limit for improving it myself or getting anything useful from AI and released it, then there were things that anons caught while reading that I had to change that I didn't catch or think of myself. so honestly I am pretty surprised that it sounds like AI because I did a lot to rewrite/add/do as much as I could to make it my own + replaced a lot of the AI ideas/parts with completely different things. Rookie wasn't thought up by AI, I came up with that character. what AI did come up with actually was Foster, but I fleshed him out a bit more. also, even though I knew I wanted the flashback to be how it was and came up with it, the AI actually did come up with the name for Kano which I thought was good because it matches Cinnabar (like volcano) and it's the name of a Mortal Kombat character and I'm a big MK fan kek because I got an MK game at a very young age, actually before Pokemon which I got when I was 6. The plot, setting, zubat, how the characters act, little details that connect it to the games, Red's role, how it was written, explanations of stuff, what's referenced, Rookie being new and partnering up with Jenny and Growlithe, very nearly all of what happens and more were all me.it's definitely completely different and not at all written how it was as the text adventure and the vast majority my own ideas and what I wanted. I used my own words as much as I possibly could or think of for literally the whole story by this version. but it wouldn't have even existed to begin with without AI.
>>58860694>(continued)I wanted to tell my process so it's not like I'm saying I 100% did it all by myself because I'm not trying to lie or really prove anything or make patreon bux (which I didn't even think of or would do), it was all for fun, but really I dunno how it can sound like some AI fetish thing you read at this point. that doesn't make sense to me because I changed it so much. I definitely wasn't like "AI write this part and write this part next and write the next part." even down to the punctuation, if there were em dashes, colons, or semicolons it's because I chose that, but I would double check with AI to make 100% it's correct even if I knew. and of course, thanks for reading it because I really wanted to see what people thought about it when I was making it and you're not completely wrong, even though I think it's completely changed from what AI gave me. I know it might be annoying that I'm making another extremely long post, but people should fully know how I went about it I think (since there's been some interest and, like I think I mentioned before, I thought there was a chance that maybe literally no one might read it. I'm new to these threads so I just assumed, but I was wrong) so I wanted to explain.>>58857478and yes this was intentional. and it's very cool to see someone defend it so I hope you're not disappointed with anything I just explained. every line of the story is intentional honestly and I analyzed and changed everything to make it how I wanted and genuinely couldn't figure out how to switch it up any more without losing anything I thought it needed. so really if there's anything that seems repetitive or bad at this point or seems like I couldn't figure out enough different ways to write certain things, then that came down to my own limitations while some of it was intentional.
>>58860694>the fic was probably (I'm guessing, didn't actually keep track) around 110 hours of writing/changing/editing>but it wouldn't have even existed to begin with without AIThe psychology behind choosing to spend 110 hours painfully correcting an AI's fuckups over spending half of that time doing it from scratch and potentially enjoying the process fascinates me. Like choosing to play a soul-crushing moba instead of doing literally anything else.
Here's my idea. MC tries to cultivate aura after isekaing. Instead they transform into pokemon they have a bond with. They use it to try battling first hand, and for smutbait. Eventually they can turn pokemon they bond with into humans (temporarily). The rest of the story doesn't matter much, so throw in a evil team conspiracy, base infiltration. Team Rocket in a region they aren't supposed to be would be nice, double trouble with whatever local villain is up to.
>>58860718I'm not saying I didn't enjoy it. it was fun. this isn't something that would have happened or I would have chosen to do otherwise, I would have just kept working on my game but I got inspired.
>"I gotta ask... how did you catch up to us? The gap between us was pretty big when you were in Team Rocket," Gold pointed out.>I nodded in agreement. "Gravity.">He blinked owlishly. "Gravity?" he repeated slowly.>"Mhm. I used it to accelerate the training of my team," I replied.>His eyes widened in disbelief. "Holy shit."Say the line, Isekaijin!
>>58860748ironically it would probably do wonders. Steroids work by accelerating healing, not by magically putting on muscles, so having access to a method that can stress you evenly and healing all the little damage that a normal earth human would suffer would do a decent amount. Also, complaining about a simple training method like gravity only works if the world is modern-era internet/communication. OG pokemon wasn't that, so most would use weights and restraints.Remember in the Hoenn anime, the physic gym used confusion to eliminate gravity and it was a big surprise for their training. Doing the reverse consistently would be legit.doesn't explain special attackers though.
>>58860748>Gravity
>new fic>isekai protag>they're late 20s/early30s>"we don't normally have trainers this old">"Oh how awkward to like pokemon at this age, but everyone is okay with it here"guys, just regress the characterit's bizarrewe all know pokemon came out years agowe all know that the fanbase is olderwe all know that it's a series where 10 year olds go on adventuresjust make them teenagers if you want implicationsAll these stories with middle age men trying to explain that they aren't pedos for going on a pokemon adventure is just weird.
>>58860757Duh.But we do need more Gravity-induced accidents. It's not like the hyperbolic time chamber where everything was being perfectly automated and sustained by a well-oiled machine. These are pokemon using the move gravity, pokemon who typically only just recently learned the move. And these are also trainers who aren't all that experienced, so they wouldn't be privy to what "limits" and "risks" are. That Chansey who just learned Gravity and is being forced to uphold it on several pokemon should slip up, catching one of the pokemon weightlifting a 2 ton rock by surprise and squashing its leg like a hammer slamming into cake.
>>58860782>All these stories with middle age men trying to explain that they aren't pedos for going on a pokemon adventure is just weird. That's mostly a SB thing, no?
>>58860785so insert stupidity and negligence? nah, that'll just make your character look retarded

>>58860802Doesn't have to be the insert. Let other people fuck up and act all shocked when the SI reveals they've been using the dangerous method all along. 99% failure rate, permanent injuries because the Gravity aura seered into the injury, etc, but SI and his team are just built different. At least this way there's justification for such an obvious method to not be widespread.

In cultivation you can get a ghost, an immortal soul stuck in some object in a lower realm after being BETRAYED, drugs and scrolls but what does Pokémon have for that, human TMs?
>>58861010try to meditate and eliminate outside distractions, then see if you can feel something you wouldn't. And because magic is real in the pokemon world, something might actually happen.>human tmscould make an interesting plot point if someone who cultivated aura tried to spread it to others and pioneered human TMs.There was an episode where Ash turned into a pikachu. What if you could unlock a poke-form and slowly start to use moves while human instead of in your pokeform."Unlocking your pokeform" could be an entire plot point of a fic. A journey where trainers are starting to realize just how much effort pokemon put in, and a potential prelude to mystery dungeon where all the humans disappeared.
>>58859556>The characters aside from Rayquaza (Let's call her Umina for now) are remixed, combined and gender-swapped just like in JJBA's recent parts.I actually love remix kind of shit, seeing familiar characters in new roles is cool.
>>58861027>Try to control the feeling and push it and control it, move it around until it becomes like an extra limb. And because magic is real in the pokemon world, something might actually happen.>Something happens >You think you unlocked your aura and you're already thinking of how to punch harder >Oh wait, you just woke up your normie psychic powers since everyone has them >No aura for you
>>58861050I've read a lot of cultivation stories and the hardest step is always the first one, that's why there's so many mortals. That and magic isn't real, so there has to be something that triggers it.Could have a riolu/lucario try to "boost you" to learn it, which is what fugg did in Borne of Desire. Having an external stimuli activate it is also pretty common. RI has hope gu, or physical training that adapts your body to the flow of aura.
>>58860559That would make the True Arceus similar to that of the Cosmic Frog of Homestuck; it's the universe itself and you're simply a part of it.
>>58860697Idk if you're going to do another chapter, or a whole new story in general, but I'd recommend trying to write it yourself and have AI just be the consultant. If your descriptions suck (which they likely will at first) you can always ask AI for help. I'd try to then phrase the description in your own words. This is all assuming you'd want to write something again and improve your skill overall.
>>58861221I do want to continue it, I have a lot of ideas for it. but I think I should let people know my main focus isn't on this so they don't expect it to come out regularly or anything. the main thing I work on is a game I'm making which takes a lot of time every day and I'm also not trying to take years to finish it. and I definitely have to reply to Jarnesc1de1Kraaij's new review which was extremely good and he's based as fuck.
>>58861248In the effort of saving time I'd say improving your writing skills will really streamline the process so each chapter won't take 110 hours. Obviously the next chapter wouldn't take as long as you've likely figured some stuff out about the process (and the world building needed for the opening chapter takes more time than actually writing imo).I'd even say don't bother replying to me until you've replied to CCanon (our name for Jarnesc1de1Kraaij). He's hella thorough and many fic writers go their whole career without getting someone who goes over all the small shit like he does (and not in a condescending way). One day he'll pop into my comment section and I know I'll have too much fun watching him process everything. I'd bet money he's the first reader to figure out one of my gnarlier twists. And no worries on time CCanon, I know CC revisions and PokeNormal come before it's PoPT time
>>58860697I'm going to be honest. I'm disappointed. I didn't finish reading it because it was bothering me too much and I just wasn't enjoying the way things were being described. I only got so far as Rookie peeking into the warehouse to see the grunts talking about some kind of device they stole from Saffron, but I started getting suspicious as early as Jenny and Rookie talking at the desk. I am not going to tell you what tipped me off. Between the annoying ai bros who start shit in this thread for no reason, the anons who have said they are going try and sneak AI stories past us to prove that they could, and you choosing to not disclose how you used AI until after you got called on it I just don't have enough good will on the subject to want to be helpful to you. You making a long ass post of excuses and your life story doesn't change your actions. If you didn't think it was a problem then you wouldn't have kept quiet about it. Whether it was your intention or not you've acted disingenuous.Full disclosure, this is the guy who writes PokeNormal. I'm not going to rescind my permission for using Tobio in a cross over. Because I want to encourage you to write with your own hands. If you write another story with you're own hands and your own thoughts sometime then I'll give reading it a try still. I have faith in you.
>>58860697Oh, and I'm also suspicious that this reply is AI.
>>58860736>Eventually they can turn pokemon they bond with into humansThings turning into humans is my fetish. Like those lakes in Ranma where dudes would throw dragons and tigers into the lake of drowned girl to make strong wives.
>>58860902>gender bent LanceBut what flavor? Universe where they were always a girl? Transformation to take them as a breeding pet as your reward for defeating them? Mind control identity death so they are your clueless loyal waifu?
>>58861350I added that purely for fetish bait. Spacebattles doesn't like odd relationships, but what if they became human. It would be like teasing their balls. Plus having a human girl hang off you being super clingy out of nowhere could make for a fun scene especially if they are a dude pokemon
>>58861293yeah I replied, I didn't even read this until I did. but I wanted to have a good baseline for the first one so the next chapters would be at least that good like a bar.>>58861342it's not and really I don't actually feel bad about using AI to help me still because I don't think it's really wrong. but I do feel kinda bad that you're disappointed.
>>58861050Actually wrote a one off where a trainer tracked down Mewtwo so that he could ask it to unlock his Bulbasaur's latent psychic power because he heard Sabrina say this and assumed it went for pokemon too.
>>58860782I mentally refer to my fic as poke-unc. I think it makes an interesting conflict between characters.
>>58860697It was an 'impression' not a defence and I do feel betrayed. If you're ever going to write that fucking crossover it better be with hands of flesh and blood.Hell, if I was FF1anon I WOULD rescind my permission.
>>58860748>"I guess you could consider me the final boss of this whole thing. The big bad villain that the hero has to stop... except I'm not interested in letting the heroes win. The final words of the tournament will be "And the winner is, Trainer Silver," and that'll be the end of that."this would have sounded the most badass thing ever to me if I were 15
>>58861398hmmm I didnt really think it was that big of a deal. I've never written anything i was trying on (like an essay, not a post) without using resources, so to me it's like the same thing. my main goal was trying to make a story i thought was good, not doing everything myself purely from my own brain. I wasn't trying to trick anyone, acting like I never used ai at all to help would be way more lame and more dishonest in my opinion. was just waiting for a good time to explain how I used it since I thought no one would really care, like until someone claimed it was ai written. but yeah I didnt make any of the posts about trying to slip it by and I'm pretty sure a lot of people who write anything are going to use it even if they lie about.
>>58861437>I'm pretty sure a lot of people who write anything are going to use it even if they lie aboutI sure hope you're not lobbing that accusation at anyone in this thread.
>>58861424MewTwo genes? Sounds like something his edgy little ass would say
>>58861455I'm not, I'm just thinking a lot of people will use it. I think it's going to be uncommon not to use it at all, even though that's very respectable. I also think there's a different between having ai write something for you and using it to make sure you don't have typos or to count how many times you used a word or if you have too many commas in a sentence or asking it about something and things like that. I still had to google synonyms a lot of the time because ai wants to use like 5 different words total over and over and uses the same phrases nonstop. I dont think it carries you that hard because if you let it then it'll be conplete shit but it has it uses.
>>58861474I typed this on my phone btw fml
>>58859440>>58859556Otome/10I like the combining characters to centralize their roles idea a lot. Pretty clever in all honestly.>and I've had this premise floating in my head for years. You should go for it for this alone. Don't let your dreams be dreams. The only thing I would say to be wary of is to not let the romance subsume the Pokemon part of things since that seems to be the main focus of your thing. Many a fanfic I've read where I start to think "Why is this even Pokemon???" because of all the human drama. Don't be Ohmori.
Ffs, please some more happier topics? I don't know, have you ever gotten actual artwork made for your fic? (There's a new hoard of commision bots.)What's the proudest you've been of something you've written? How do you view Legendaries? Should they be able to be captured or are they beyond that? What's the best pokefic you've ever read?
>>58861474Having it as an editor/consultant is one thing, but in your post here >>58860683 it sure seems like you generated VPD and then heavily edited that yourself, which lines up with the structure of every paragraph being similar (which most of your reviewers mentioned before you edited those as well). You going around saying "AI is just a tool" while having posted something that was generated and then heavily edited after generation is still insulting, to put it very lightly.I'm this >>58861221 anon by the way. I'm not the anti-AI gestapo some people are, and I think it can be a useful tool when used appropriately. But I highly encourage you to just try writing something yourself if you're really feeling the call to write. Yes, it'll suck at the start. Yes you'll fuck up, literally anyone who's written anything has been there. But it's fanfiction dude. Its quality won't be mentioned on your tombstone.Anyways, I'll drop this because this thread's full of a lot of BS. >Artwork for your ficNo. If I'm ever rolling in the dough I wouldn't be against commissioning something very specific for PoPT.>ProudestProbably the Ian-Plumeria scene at the end of Chapter 22 "At the Threshold." Close second is the surprise at the end of the following chapter.>LegendariesI'm all for catching Legendaries, but it can be easily overdone. As far as cover Legendaries go, those have to be incredibly rare, and the only Pokemon they should be against should be other Legendaries.
>>58861520>How do you view Legendaries? Should they be able to be captured or are they beyond that?Yes, but it can only be voluntary for the higher end ones. Lower end (lookin at you Cosmog) are fair game. Even the Master Ball should have limits.Same should go for stronger mons. Don't use game logic. It should be a story of friendship not slavery.
>>58861595>0 Reliable switchinsGoogle.com Zamazenta
>>58861707>knock offswhat now big boy
>>58861595Basically, restricted Legendaries and mythicals should only be befriended and never captured; especially when it comes to child protagonists.
Aura is just the force which is, honestly, a shitty power system and inferior to Pokémon moves in versatility and raw firepower.Same goes for psychic powers, anime Sabrina is the 0000.0001% so all the rest are shitters
