My writing is almost always 'random inspiration for random shit that I crack out in one sitting like a man possessed who needs the thoughts out of his head'. Which is probably why I can vibe with CC so well. But I've evidently gotten good at that kind of story because people seem to like them.

The other form is 'My autism demands tribute' in the form of intended longer writing projects that go nowhere past a chapter or two. Which I tried to break with Crystal Light, but its been a year since I've written a new chapter. Got half of one cranked out, but I just haven't sat down to actually finish it.

It was a number of things, honestly. Partially I wanted to do an Isekai that “did it right” and wasn’t just shameless power fantasy (and then I found a poorly written, self-indulgent POS story that made me decide to basically give the middle finger to shallow SI/Isekai/self-indulgent crap). But it also came out of playing way too much Legends Arceus at a point (which is why there are so many Legends Arceus elements, and the skeleton of the story largely resembles that). I also wished there were more factions to come in conflict with in LA and got inspired by what that would look like. And the third part was I wrote a terrible fetish fic that took place in Po Town and while writing it, I realized there was a central theme to Po Town/Team Skull that really stuck with me, and I knew there was a story there. So when I lined up Po Town and Team Skull with Jubilife Village and Galaxy Team as similar places and roles thematically and physically in the setting, a relatively easy way to Isekai the protagonist, and that Isekai’ing as an evil team grunt wouldn’t be a traditional “everything’s going to be smooth sailing for my protagonist,” things really took off. I really just had to flesh out the world that story took place in. Which as a sufferer of chronic world-building disease was the easiest part. It took a while for me to nail the endgame antagonist but once it hit me it just became a logistical issue, as odd as that sounds

The RP died and it never got far enough for the villain to get used, so ever since they've been kicking around in the back of my head. I find that previous attempts to integrate AI further into my writing conflicted with my prose, and that most of the time I would just edit the AI paragraph to mix in a fraction of the output with what I had already written prior (which I inputted asking the AI to enhance). I didn't want to spoil the whole thing and some ideas are underdeveloped (like who turned her into a person and why) but I basically had the idea that she would travel an alternative Hoenn and help people until she realizes her true identity. She may begin to love the people she meets but she cannot stay with them because she is a Pokemon with a duty to protect Hoenn.

The characters aside from Rayquaza (Let's call her Umina for now) are remixed, combined and gender-swapped just like in JJBA's recent parts.

Tentative Characters:

- "Umina" is a mysterious girl with unusual abilities. She was found passed out in a forest and nursed back to health by a female Professor and her sons. She has no recollection of the past but when she closes her eyes to sleep she has visions of the sky. Her first partner is a Torchic.

He has an affinity for robotic and artificial Pokemon and eventually meets his ace, Iron Valiant.

To my knowledge, Ward doesn't have the same worldbuilding that Worm had because it was essentially a big reset inuniverse.
Taylor is also a way more flexible protagonist to work with compared to Vicky. Less baggage and history to work with and easier to set up a power fantasy.
I think most people just treat Ward like it's another post Golden Morning au fanfic.

No it just isn't as flexible a setting, simple as. Its not about quality either, because Worms setting is nonsense. Canonically held together with duct tape by a walking deus ex machina. But above all its FLEXIBLE.

I've seen authors use concepts and things introduced in Ward, but an actual "this is set in Ward" fic is vanishingly rare. The only Worm related thing I like is something ya'll would hate because it plays on audience perception and expectations Hard. I enjoy weird experimental shit like that.

The one thing I enjoyed the most from Worm was the Slaughterhouse 9, and not even necessarily what was portrayed in canon but how they've been written in different fanfics. Jack Slash in particular and his ability to 'cheat' are very interesting to me. I've been trying to think of a way to write a Pokémon villain similar to him, someone not very powerful in the grand scheme of things, but who not only survives among the top players but thrives among them and makes them piss their pants in fear. Maybe some kind of psychic-empath that can dismantle strategies and poke weaknesses through intuition, or something similar. A villain with justified plot armor, essentially. I understand he was written to be a Joker expy

I have two contradictory head canons for Giovanni.

One is that he has been a Gym Leader of Viridian since he was really young and used to have a flying type specialization, hence why the badge looks like a feather. He changed specializations when he abandoned the gym in order to keep people from realizing who he was.

The second is that Giovanni was the Gym Leader of Celadon City and Erika was for Viridian City. Being the leader of the second biggest city in Kanto was bad for staying out of the public eye. Erika, who was giving out the leaf like Earth Badge in the foresty Viridian city, jumped at the chance to move to the glamorous big city. Erika took over in Celadon, and Giovanni never even showed up in Viridian which is why nobody knew who he was.

to be clear, it did start out with me just messing around with an ai text adventure thing. that's what inspired me to make the fic. I had no plans before to ever make a fic or even thought about doing it before because I don't really do this, actually the main thing I work on day-to-day is a game I'm making. so I was just messing around and taking a break one day when I messed with that text adventure AI.
I mentioned this in an earlier thread and said I was making a fic because I was inspired by an ai text adventure, but I never made a post blatantly saying "I used AI to help with Vermilion PD" because I actually wanted to see if anyone thought it sounded like AI after I was done, even though I started talking about VPD shortly after in the same thread, so some may have connected it if they were reading that thread.
but honestly it was all completely different than the final story, including how it was written and format, and by the end I spent around at least 2 weeks like 10+ hours a day (because I wanted to get it done asap and get back to working on my game) turning it into a fic, editing, changing a lot, adding way more, fixing all of the inconsistencies, nonsensical things, and horrible AI writing overall. even on New Years I didn't go to a party because I wanted to get it done and kept editing nonstop. I'm pretty sure I changed literally every sentence and how every paragraph was structured and definitely added way more. the original text adventure I was doing was something like 30 mins of just messing around and mostly my own ideas to begin with besides what AI responded with, then the fic was probably (I'm guessing, didn't actually keep track) around 110 hours of writing/changing/editing all day which was way more than I expected when I decided to make it a fic, but I didn't want to stop until it was something I was basically satisfied with.

Rookie wasn't thought up by AI, I came up with that character. what AI did come up with actually was Foster, but I fleshed him out a bit more. also, even though I knew I wanted the flashback to be how it was and came up with it, the AI actually did come up with the name for Kano which I thought was good because it matches Cinnabar (like volcano) and it's the name of a Mortal Kombat character and I'm a big MK fan kek because I got an MK game at a very young age, actually before Pokemon which I got when I was 6. The plot, setting, zubat, how the characters act, little details that connect it to the games, Red's role, how it was written, explanations of stuff, what's referenced, Rookie being new and partnering up with Jenny and Growlithe, very nearly all of what happens and more were all me.
it's definitely completely different and not at all written how it was as the text adventure and the vast majority my own ideas and what I wanted. I used my own words as much as I possibly could or think of for literally the whole story by this version.
but it wouldn't have even existed to begin with without AI.

The psychology behind choosing to spend 110 hours painfully correcting an AI's fuckups over spending half of that time doing it from scratch and potentially enjoying the process fascinates me. Like choosing to play a soul-crushing moba instead of doing literally anything else.

Here's my idea. MC tries to cultivate aura after isekaing. Instead they transform into pokemon they have a bond with. They use it to try battling first hand, and for smutbait. Eventually they can turn pokemon they bond with into humans (temporarily).

The rest of the story doesn't matter much, so throw in a evil team conspiracy, base infiltration. Team Rocket in a region they aren't supposed to be would be nice, double trouble with whatever local villain is up to.

ironically it would probably do wonders. Steroids work by accelerating healing, not by magically putting on muscles, so having access to a method that can stress you evenly and healing all the little damage that a normal earth human would suffer would do a decent amount.

Also, complaining about a simple training method like gravity only works if the world is modern-era internet/communication. OG pokemon wasn't that, so most would use weights and restraints.
Remember in the Hoenn anime, the physic gym used confusion to eliminate gravity and it was a big surprise for their training. Doing the reverse consistently would be legit.

I've been wondering, how would that work? Like are there any books, scrolls or enough people to teach? In cultivation you can get a ghost, an immortal soul stuck in some object in a lower realm after being BETRAYED, drugs and scrolls but what does Pokémon have for that, human TMs?

"Unlocking your pokeform" could be an entire plot point of a fic.
A journey where trainers are starting to realize just how much effort pokemon put in, and a potential prelude to mystery dungeon where all the humans disappeared.

Could have a riolu/lucario try to "boost you" to learn it, which is what fugg did in Borne of Desire. Having an external stimuli activate it is also pretty common. RI has hope gu, or physical training that adapts your body to the flow of aura.

Idk if you're going to do another chapter, or a whole new story in general, but I'd recommend trying to write it yourself and have AI just be the consultant. If your descriptions suck (which they likely will at first) you can always ask AI for help. I'd try to then phrase the description in your own words.

In the effort of saving time I'd say improving your writing skills will really streamline the process so each chapter won't take 110 hours. Obviously the next chapter wouldn't take as long as you've likely figured some stuff out about the process (and the world building needed for the opening chapter takes more time than actually writing imo).

I'd even say don't bother replying to me until you've replied to CCanon (our name for Jarnesc1de1Kraaij). He's hella thorough and many fic writers go their whole career without getting someone who goes over all the small shit like he does (and not in a condescending way). I'm going to be honest. I'm disappointed. I didn't finish reading it because it was bothering me too much and I just wasn't enjoying the way things were being described. I'm not, I'm just thinking a lot of people will use it. I think it's going to be uncommon not to use it at all, even though that's very respectable. I also think there's a different between having ai write something for you and using it to make sure you don't have typos or to count how many times you used a word or if you have too many commas in a sentence or asking it about something and things like that. I still had to google synonyms a lot of the time because ai wants to use like 5 different words total over and over and uses the same phrases nonstop. I dont think it carries you that hard because if you let it then it'll be conplete shit but it has it uses.

Yes, but it can only be voluntary for the higher end ones. Lower end (lookin at you Cosmog) are fair game. Even the Master Ball should have limits.
Same should go for stronger mons. Don't use game logic. It should be a story of friendship not slavery.
