A type led by Hydregion+Absol who completely shits on Gardevoir, even if you get an amazing early start, the Hydregion deck is more often than not going to keep up considering its running massive draw power to get ahead and slam you for 150. The new support absolutely does not save you from those swings and even in a perfect world it does. Absol can easily just come in and delete the card out of your hand. Atp they're very much aware of the problems but just choose to ignore specifically to cater to the main audience of people who play this game. If anything these buffs are going more for Indeedee and Altaria if anything. A deck that did not absolutely need free retreats and a lite Suicune in Meloletta. Really the only thing that would even remotely save this expansion is an stadium that disables abilities for both you and the opponent. But I have no faith in Dena ever killing off Greninja since thats one of their big cash cows.

Stadiums being added is the only thing I'd say was a nice gesture, even if it took them an entire year to add.

the only way i can see mega gardevoir functioning is by going all-in with healspam. the seemingly intended psychic shuffle strategy is entirely worthless due to cyrus' existence, and the sheer energy generation also doesn't really matter as most of it will go to waste.the only things this card has going for it is that it generates at least 1 psychic energy (the other 2 energies literally mean nothing) and that it's a stage 2 for lillie access. altaria has to wait on the energy zone for diantha heals to not cuck its ability to attack, gardevoir has no such issues. having both indeedee on your bench means gardevoir can heal up to 130 in a single turn, meaning even against a deck like hydreigon it can just power through with heals.that being said, healspam has historically never been all that good due to the deckspace it takes up so we'll see. maybe the numbers are finally big enough this time.
