Newfag back again. Made it to Arceus rank on live, the advice definitely helped with ratios so thanks. Big problem I'm having now is nothing to do with the game itself I suppose and I genuinely don't mean to be disparaging but, how come the pokemon tcg has almost no community? This is meant to be the most popular card game ever but I can't find anything beyond a tiny splinter subreddit and these threads that don't even hit bump limit. I feel like Tommy in goodfellas walking in to a room expecting a party but it's empty and he gets shot in the head. For all of yugiohs MANY faults, you were never starved of fun stuff to watch or places to talk about theorycrafting and banlists. There's five different yugioh threads on multiple boards that consistently hit bump limit daily. Do you guys just not talk about the game? Do you just net deck and go to locals? Where's your progression series, your 10 minute testings, your archetype archive? Your world champions on their own channels making detailed guides for a new format? Again, I'm not trying to compare the games themselves, I have every intention of picking up paper come rotation but until then, where's the "extra-curricular" stuff that makes the game worth playing?

Take Magic for example, it has a rotation like we do, but after a while just like our game there's not really a lot to talk about for standard, but they also have EDH and 2 legacy formats that are popular, so there's always ways to talk about the game with your constant stream of cards. Yugioh doesn't have a rotation, so you have 20+ years of cards you can throw with whatever new FOTM they're shilling to make "content" on top of yugioh having more deckbuilding malleability from that and the option to be between 40 and 60 cards, whereas we can't enter with anything more or less than 60 on top of our deck space being less free for a lot of decks because of how obligatory a lot of cards are to be able to play. Compared to yugioh, which has a large part of the deck also taken up by staples their decks are less affected because cards often have multiple effects which saves a LOT of deckspace when your deck ends up just tutoring itself off of 1 or 2 cards going through. There are other issues on top, but the crux of it is that there's really nothing to talk about at this point, especially when everyone is kind of waiting on rotation. As far as content creators go, everyone just makes the same content. Set/leaks/promo reviews, decks that look good when formats rotate, good decks after, then rogue stuff until tournaments happen and people go over the tournaments and try decks that showed up. 10 minute testing is cute I guess if you need to make a video every friday for a paycheck, but any PTCG content creator trying rogue stuff is going to give you 30+ minutes of gameplay instead of playing a retarded bo3 in the most volatile card game on the market so someone like that ugly jew MBT has no value here.

Honestly the Erika's stuff is better than I thought it would be. I feel like the Tangela has so much power behind it that even getting 1-2 usable cards would probably make it too strong as a single prize deck since it can consistently attack for 240. If I could ask for anything, it would be a thematic Erika trainer, hopefully one that accelerates an energy so I don't have to run Crispin and a mega Victreebel.At any rate, I'm trying to make the deck a bit better so I'm also looking for recs. The idea is that it's rotation safe because I don't feel like adding Arven and shit just to take it out in a month or two. I also can't think of any way to accelerate another energy, but I'm also fine with Crispin if I can find a decent card that's actually worth running as a late game attacker or something. Also, I feel like items are a bit weaker with Arven and Town Store leaving, but not running any balloons for the Tangela sounds bad but since I have so many on the bench I can't just preemptively put them on.

>>58889335It's intended to be spread. You try to go first and hit the bench turn 2 after blowing up a dusclops or two in case they have any 70/80 hp starters so you get rid of anything most decks can attack with for a turn or two and you just continue to hit whatever they need to play the game. The only thing you attack with is it unless you go second in which case you just put budew up. It's rough into Gardevoir though, but most decks are so whatever. You also run the triple colorless to one shot big darks since it'll do 320. It's fun and there's not really a fast spread deck on the market besides turbo obsidian I guess. I have post rotation list as well, but you only swap out 8 cards and none of them are that missed outside of Arven.
>>58888348Nah the deck is consistent now and without Gholdengo, TM Devo and Gardevoir/Munkies it has a much fewer bad matchups. All it's missing is Meowth for the on-demand Crispin/Colress.
I wanted to be a team rocket so I made this.I think I am going to take out the nestballs for another Orbeetle and Sacred Ash. The nestball are overkill here.It's not a good deck, but it's a fun. Moving all the damage counters to a single Mewtwo then using a Giovanni to send a Wobbuffet to do some big damage is fun.

Best of the starter decks you get in PTCGL? Having good results with MegaMega for the little I've tried it and it seems very straightforward to pilot which is nice to start (and conversely dogshit results with 'pon getting manascrewed hard), but I imagine it has little lasting power once you get serious. Should I prioritise upgrading the 'pult deck in the background for future use, or are the better things to build?
