Between the radically different Pokemon pool, dramatically different early and late game, and BW's different post-game structure (being more similar to something like Gen 2's Kanto than B2W2's more Sinnoh Zones structure) I'd say there's reasons to play one over the other based on personal preference.>>58863497It's a local thing, the fuck are you on about? That's like saying DP/Platinum's Dongle feature, B2W2's Dream Radar connectivity, or ORAS's Super Secret Bases are "online". Like even the waste of space bottom screen is almost entirely local based, there's about two online things in Gen 5 that matter and one of them works just fine when you're not playing on the original DS (and even then works just fine if you're using less secure WiFi). Gen 6, especially XY, is more guilty of the online being an integral part of the game because at least ORAS has StreetPass.

>>58863475>>58863475There's definitely a point, BW covers more of the core Unova region and you'd miss out on a lot of important locations like Relic Castle, Dragonspiral Tower, and Skyarrow Bridge if you just played B2W2 (during the story at least).Also IMO BW playthroughs are always a lot of fun because of the strict region variety, I know some people hate it but I find the blown up dex of B2W2 to not feel as special.

They're different games. B2W2 is almost like gen 5.5. It's got significant changes to the region, a nearly completely different dex, a different story, and it would be a completely different experience.It's like Kanto vs Johto.

When the core experience of most pokemon games is pretty much identical those quality of life features are basically the only deciding factor in which ones you choose to replay and which ones you don't.

If you grew up on Gen 1 you'll love the charm of going back to it, but if you didn't, the Gen 3 remakes are superior in every way. At most I'd only ever recommend playing Gen 1 until you reach Cerulean City and only for academic reasons. It gives you a taste of everything the game has to offer; a gym, a dungeon, and early party progression. At that point everything else is more of the same and you can move on.

Thankfully the team has solved a similar problem with ACNH so it's just a matter of time and the 3DS is trivial to hack and upload modified games to most of that will be fixed aside from the Gen 6 Game Sync (does Gen 7 Game Sync even do anything?).
